  • How was Rousey's gameplan against Holm and Nunes not here? Tarverdyan took an Olympic level grappler and convinced her she was the next Mike Tyson. Really wasn't playing to her strengths in either of those fights.

    • As soon as Eddie got cracked with the first left hook, he went into autopilot. He was completely psychologically overwhelmed by the situation. It’s fuckin sad too, because he had been hit, and hurt so much worse before. I think he was mentally broken by the enormity of UFC 205, and completely ignored his wife’s horrible cage-side shrieking! 😂😂😂. Eddieeeeeee!!!!

    • Yeah, that was a poor reaction if not an intentional tactic. Compare it to Rousey when Zingano charged in - perfect reaction. Askren could have done pretty much exactly what Rousey did: dodge, grab, and grapple.

Its a shame, because instead of using her new improved striking to help set up her judo throws and submissions, she seemed to think she could actually beat the best in ways she had never beat anyone before. Ronda could have legit been an all-time great, but instead quit and joined the WWE. Plenty of greats get beaten.....and we love them even more when they come back and win, ala what Rose just did.

  • You can add Rob's gameplan vs Izzy but it's easy to say it was the wrong gameplan having seen the result. Looking at the Kelvin fight it wud seem like a good gameplan coz Izzy had trouble handling Kelvin's aggressiveness n how fast Kelvin closed the distance.. Also Izzy didn't look good going backwards, nowhere close to how godly he looked vs Whittaker. So you can chalk it up to Rob's bad gameplan(easy to judge afterwards) but I give all the credit to Izzy's skills, adjustments and fight iq. The places where there were holes in last fight is exactly where he set traps.

    • The thing is Kelvin's boxing at close range is amazing and Izzy decided to use pull counters, which he figured out quickly was to his detriment, but yes Izzy did improve between the two fights which led to his impessive win

    • @@joshuakehl5891 No, I'm just saying Justin would have had more success against Khabib throwing uppercuts instead of overhands. Every time he threw an overhand it was avoided by Khabib, whereas the few uppercuts Justin threw landed. Uppercuts are also useful against wrestlers.

  • Whittaker vs adesanya should be on this list. Storming in recklessly and headhunting the much longer decorated kickboxer who excels in countering seemed like a horrible game plan. Especially with how massive that fight was. Whittaker is a smart fighter though, I think he could make this way more competitive fight in a rematch

  • Rumble vs DC was a dive if I’ve ever seen 1. Rumble was more than competitive, he was winning, but suddenly and without struggle, gave up his back, and didn’t bother fighting the hands. Retiring with a big pay day to start a business seems like incentive enough.
