The evidence still remains in the files, however, and in this video I discuss more recent leaks that have come out detailing exactly what the update was going to be like and the content it was likely to bring into the game.

This isn’t the first time irl events have impacted rockstar games. There was a cut mission from GTA IV which involved a plane striking a high rise building and exploding. At least it made sense to rework GTA IV before release, to not include any similarities to that.
The Greenwood is based off of the Dodge Monaco in real life. In the show "The Dukes of Hazzard" there was a police Monaco always chasing the Duke boys. I feel like if we got this update, we would've gotten a nice little reference along with it.

This sounds like the most in-depth DLC that we would’ve ever received or at least one of the biggest in terms of content and ingame changes and it's one of the few DLC's that were scrapped 😪 such a sad sight
It was scrapped over the BLM they did that for a reason so their studio doesn't get burnt down for releasing a dlc that involves cops

Ah man, I'm bummed that they canceled it, it really did seem like it would've been awesome, I would've loved to see the cop cars and stuff, I'm wondering what the Zoku was too. I'm basically certain that the Buffalo and Granger were from this DLC and were just repurposed and had something added to the name, it could explain how some parts on these vehicles, or the cars themselves, seem a little more rushed, or the lack of lots of parts, plus why the Buffalo STX isn't a widebody lol. In my eyes I'm glad that they don't just let unused content completely go to waste and sorta repurpose it and such, so hopefully we can get missions or side features in future DLCs that reuses these outfits and stuff, like you said. Maybe we'll get to see what the Zoku is someday as well.
Cops and Crooks DLC would have been so much fun,specially in the role play aspect of it. I would' ve loved to get the Swat Police Granger. It' s the only one i don' t have. Thanks for the info.👍

Cops and crooks is so easy and people are such softies. Add the cop cars, put them at 1m and done
they need to add something like that or at the minimum something to do with cops. maybe players in online can impersonate or take on roles as cops or dirty cops and you don't know who's a real cop or what that could be cool

The fact that Rockstar cancelled this much of their work over a bunch of sissies really shows just how Rockstar is not the same company we grew up with anymore. Back then they would've rolled with it and used it as marketing.

That Greenwood looks like it was ripped straight from an old PS1 game, Driver 2. One of my childhood favorites that probably opened me up to gta style games.

Conspiracy Theory Alert: Rockstar may not have totally finished/polished that DLC by that time in the Summer of 2020, and with the riots that happened across the country during that time, it provided great cover for Rockstar to cancel that DLC. One thing is for certain in our society, corporate America always uses a crisis to their advantage.
This is just unbelievable in my opinion. This update sounds exactly like what gta would need for me to come back to the game. This hypocritical corporate bs is ruining the entertainment branch. I never knew cops became inappropriate. But while they were at it they should have removed the npc cops as well. Maybe then the games performance wouldn't be as terrible as it is.

I kinda thought the Greenwood was gonna come on as an undercover cop car. Especially when the ULP missions were added, I thought that was going to be us working with the government and have a whole lot more added than what we received. And don't forget about the Suburban and the new Navigator. Sucks that we didn't get the update because of some real world event.

Take Two stated that they already removed or decreased "frat culture" inside Rockstar Games This type of content won't be seeing the light of day anytime soon, even less in the next GTA

You know what would be cool? If this was somehow tied into a Micheal Update. Like you’re in a cop car that you bought and get a dispatch call to head down to the movie studios. Low and behold you meet up with Micheal, who’s calling because one of his actors went missing and requests you to find them. Even recognizing that you might be that unpredictable person that Lester mentioned all those years ago.
I would have loved to see this dlc come out. However I do agree that it would have been in poor taste (at the time, but I think it should release now), because I don't think R* would have come under fire from BLM supporters. I think R* would have come under fire from people who supported police officers. Since R* has a long history of making fun of anything and everything, and I actually don't think this dlc would have portrayed police officers in a positive way. Sorry for long comment.

This is really unfortunate. I would have loved to see police vehicles and uniforms added to Online. It would have been a major breath of fresh air and would have probably changed GTAO for the better. At the very least, we need Vigilante missions to return in the next game. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if all the assets in the video (vehicles, uniforms, etc) exist in some form on dev team drives or files, just waiting for us to enjoy them. Maybe one day they will release them.

If it's true that the Granger, Greenwood and Buffalo from the Contracts update were indeed repurposed from this cancelled DLC, then it's possible that the other cars shown (Bati, Panto, Riata, Gauntlet and Caracara) might either get new versions that are compatible with Imani tech, or that their currently available versions might get more customisation options and Imani tech compatibility. I'm also willing to guess that one of the cars simply listed as "Police 5" and "Police 6" might have been a version of the Police Roadcruiser, the squad cars used by the North Yankton police in the single player prologue heist.
In the files the NY police cars are referred to as 'old police' or something like that, there is no police 5 or 6 so I'm guessing it's either completely new squad cars or they really did just renamed the Yankton ones for some reason. Either way looks like we will never find out

I want the crook outfits as one thing that GTAO is lacking is thug clothing. The potential glitches with this mode would be insane. I hope they release it, or at least the outfits.

I’m an avid GTA RP Player on Xbox and I would have loved this update because of so many reasons I can’t list. I really think they should release this as a bonus “Thank You for Playing all these years” or better yet, once they stop updating the game they release this along with other cut content that they are allowed to release
The police Buffalo is actually a car you can drive in the game, but I only saw it spawn in story mode on Xbox 360.
It does spawn on new gen as well but It is very rare, you can find it in the area around Mission row police station in story mode.
I looked up why it was cancelled before I even opened the comments and omfg, there's actually no way that's the reason, I refuse to believe it was any other reason than they didn't have it finished before June/December and needed to think of an excuse REALLY fast
Cops n Crooks was my favorite MP mode in GTA IV. By the end of that Era, there was about 30 or so players in constant rotation in that game mode. So we developed genuine rivalries with players and saw them every day. Had our own little crews also. Ours were the team killers lol. Forcing people to switch sides before the game started and if they didn't, we'd kill them as soon as we spawned in the getaway car. This is because people would switch teams last second and reveal to their team mates where the getaway vehicle would spawn. So it became second nature to kill anyone we didn't recognize. I miss those days.

Personally I have a feeling that this would have ended up similar to Arena War and LTS. It would have been cool to get a new game mode but the issue is most people don't play GTA for the game modes so the player base would have likely dried up pretty fast for it.
Thinking that some of this content might be added to the new DLC , I say that because we are getting weapons that were cut from CNC

I would definitely would've loved to especially with the ability to own patrol cars I've been doing gta rp for 3 yrs now and it's a pain to get the patrol cars just to be able to patrol and honestly since the police brutality thing has gone way down since then I believe rockstar should exleast allow us to own police cars he'll we can already own the rcv which has red and blue lights and has the sirens
