    • not like the situation could have ever gone any different. the only alternate reality we get is one where the US didn't demand for a south korea, and instead we get a whole peninsula of kim rule.

      @manipulatortrash@manipulatortrash9 ай бұрын
    • @@manipulatortrash that's just not true, is it. a very real "alternate reality" is if macarthur kept his mouth shut about nukes and his troops away from the yalu river. china wouldve never gotten as significantly involved, ussr wouldnt have sent modern fighter jets, and "north korea" or the DMZ as we know it might've just been a 10 mile strip along some mountains. so many of our issues today in east and southeast asia were caused or at least worsened by that geopolitical idiot, macarthur.

    • Fully agree! North Korea must be part of the Global plan, to keep money rolling for this stuff. If not, we would have already ended this maddness. Everyone complains about Hitler, and he was a monster. Yet, North Korea is no different, yet we let them continue to play war. When they should have already been put to bed.

  • Weird fact: In the original version of Lion King, "Be Prepared" was partially inspired by the first footage released to the outside world from inside North Korea, as well as the first Nuremberg rally in 1934. To be able to release Lion King in Germany and South Korea, Disney had to say that "Be Prepared" was inspired by both, which is true. So yes. A Disney movie inspired by Shakespeare featured a scene inspired by the first footage released to the outside world from inside North Korea.

    • @@ricrasekh I'm well aware of this. But he's not attempted any real change. There's an acceptance of black markets followed by crackdowns. The info that does get out suggests he's further consolidated the regime's power through building more 'camps' and executions in some areas have increased with more crimes now punishable by death. He's also built theme parks for his wealthy compadres. And executed members of the party who suggested a move to a more democratic society. So while I understand your point the evidence I've read suggests he has no interest in upsetting the current status quo and will not gradually introduce measures to ease the grip of the regime's power.
