Water buffalos (Bubalus arnee) in Kaziranga

A video about the Waterbuffalos in Kaziranga Nationalpark, Assam, India. It might appear "slow" in some parts but this is the real thing with animals. Not the action-style that you normally see in documentaries where there is one extraordinary scene added to the next one.
Full-HD High-Quality Footage available at wildonscreen.tv
Sorry for the prominent watermark, but otherwise the footage would get used without my permission too many times.

    • @@Josielovespets gaur you mean? You mean how will their interaction go? I think Gaur won't like to mess with Wild Water Buffalo in their element, normally buffalo act pretty ok around the presence of rhino while Gaur are bit more nervous in Rhino's presence and either bluff or dash quickly, I think Buffalo has decent 'horn' advantage and are more stubborn to get push away than Gaur

  • Worlds longest horns in any species belong to water buffalo.interesting thing is female have longer horns than males....these animals have heavy bones than gaur but less muscular ...weighs more than African buffalo....temper is lower and the domesticated buffalo originated from this species....the indian water buffalo in Assam is the only true remaining species....the srilankan population is genetically impure and in other parts of Australia there are feral impure animals.....these animals are our national treasure....just we hate black and buffalo they are in this state with not enough conservation....

    • Wild water buffalo's temper isn't lower but greater. They dominate gaurs and rhinos which are bigger than them. They've been recorded to kill tigers. They attack people on sight and even used to invade human villages and kill people. Cape buffalos only attack poachers, trophy hunters and tourists as a reaction to any other predators.

    • @@shafqatishan437 no water buffalo is a formidable gentle giant...they usually wade in the water and stand their ground ...listen they are tamed...they are the ancestors of modern buffalo...they move into human settlements and dominate domesticated males and breed with female buffaloes and usually the fetus is aborted due to large size .. definitely the cape buffalo has a high temper than water buffalo...most African animals are in constant watch of predators... Africa is homeland of various predators...water buffalo has bigger bone structure and density than African buffalo and longest horns of all animals

  • You got the scientific name of the asiatic water buffalo completely wrong, its correct scientific name is actually Bubalus bubalis.

    @indyreno2933@indyreno29336 ай бұрын
    • This is the Wild Water Buffalo. Bubalis Arnee is the correct name. Bubalus Bubalis is the scientific name of the domestic Water Buffalo.

      @heybinu@heybinu6 ай бұрын
    • @heybinu, actually, Bubalus arnee is a junior synonym of Bubalus bubalis, the wild and domestic forms of asiatic water buffalo are the same species, in other words, the asiatic water buffalo is just one valid species (Bubalus bubalis) with only two valid subspecies: the Indian Water Buffalo (Bubalus bubalis bubalis) of the Indian subcontinent and the Southeast Asian Water Buffalo (Bubalus bubalis hosei) of Southeast Asia, with the domestic water buffalo simply classified as a population of the indian water buffalo.

      @indyreno2933@indyreno29336 ай бұрын
    • @indyreno2933 The Wild Water Buffalo is considered a different species. I thought it was the same species too, for a long time. Look it up.

      @heybinu@heybinu6 ай бұрын
    • @heybinu, no it is not, the six valid extant species of buffalo are the Mountain Anoa (Anoa quarlesi), the Mountain Anoa (Anoa depressicornis), the Mindoro Dwarf Buffalo (Bubalus mindorensis), the Asiatic Water Buffalo (Bubalus bubalis), the African Bush Buffalo (Syncerus caffer), and the African Forest Buffalo (Syncerus nanus), the wild and domestic forms of asiatic water buffalo are actually just one and the same species, with the asiatic water buffalo only having two valid subspecies, which are the Indian Water Buffalo (Bubalus bubalis bubalis) and the Southeast Asian Water Buffalo (Bubalus bubalis hosei), the domestic water buffalo is actually a population of the indian water buffalo rather than a distinct species or even a subspecies.

      @indyreno2933@indyreno29336 ай бұрын
    • @indyreno2933 Respectfully, I think not. But I am open to being corrected as you seem to ba an authority on all things buffalo. Please quote your references or sources. A few corrections, if I may. If you are referring to Bubalus Depressicornus, that is the Lowland Anoa. Experts are still debating whether it is the same species as the Mountain Anoa, as it is not possible to determine from the skulls of Anoa whether they are different species. I agree on the Cape Buffalo (Syncarus Caffer) and the African Forest Buffalo ( Syncarus Naner). If the Wild Water Buffalo is not a different species, why are conservationists worried about their hybridization with the domestic form?
