To clean there eyes and to prevent there eyes from drying out (yes that can happen), they lick there eyeballs [Edit] i forgot to mention in this comment that some geckos do have eyelids, just didn’t see the need to add this as i thought most people knew

Im honestly impressed by how still this gecko remains still without moving even in the slightest. We saw the owner put like 6 drops before he got it to stay, then the gecko proceeds to lick his eye without the drop falling. Pretty damn impressive.
