I in no way claim to be an expert in neurographic art. This is a video I made to simplify the process for my students. If you want more information, google exists.

  • I just came across this topic….in many similar ways, if we’re just talking “creating art” this is very close to Zen doodling and even just doodling and repetitive pattern/mark making. The “neural” shapes & connections with a focus on mindfulness is the difference. Plus I’m sure there is a certain method that Dr P intends to get the deeper benefits than just relaxation only and that is so much more than doodling. It remind me, however, of the organic shapes and doodles that I’ve done for years, primarily with black liner pens and then sometimes coloring with markers. This “doodling” can give me a sense of relaxation and often helps at times when I feel very scattered and/or anxious.

  • I never heard of this before but It reminds of zentangle. Both art forms are omething I have done all my life in my art but someone has taken it and added a name and rules to it. I cannot wait to try it. First I need to tidy up my studio.

  • I would like to pursue this for the psychological aspects of helping myself care and my brain. :) your video explains better what i'm looking for. I'm artistic, type A. it's going to be hard for me to break the artistic side that wants pretty and well matched colors, and then the side of my troubles/solutions brain view to help myself. does that make sense? do you suggest another "technical" teacher? I don't really have a counselor at the moment.

  • Does it matter that it’s not true Neurographic when really the idea is to to be random and mediative, not forgetting fun. If there are rules to art therapy then it’s not therapy. How can it be. It becomes restrictive.

  • Interesting...in the course I am taking on Neurographic Art the first line we drew was what you just said not to draw. It is the 'release' line. I've been teaching people how to heal themselves for over 35 yrs and I've never met 1 person who replicated my processes exactly as they were show. I think it the nature of the beast. We are all different, learn differently and express that knowledge according to our own design.

Well if people want to pay for doodling classes, that's up to them I guess 🤣. It's all manifestation etc. I'd rather relax and do art the way I want to. Far more relaxing!
