It's not that far-fetched. Lugers were sold in the US (and Britain and France), and officers could choose to use a privately purchased sidearm instead of the service pistol if they wanted.

It wasnt as common in the US military to private purchase arms as it was in Britain or France. In fact I implore you to find a pic of a WW1 US officer with anything other than a 1911, 1903 colt or S&W 38 revolver.

"What does a boy need to do to get some ammo?" Well, you could use your command wheel to REQUEST AMMO.
I feel like the medic syringe should be a thing you have automatically because no one is ever going to use a rifle grenade because you need medical packs and the syringe as essentials so you just can't use rifle grenades without someone getting annoyed at you for not healing them or reviving them.
I agree the rifle grenade is practically unusable unless you don't care about your team. Also I think that the classes should be a bit more different. By that I mean that different classes should have slightly different passive effects. Like scouts being able to run faster, assaults being less effected by suppression, supports taking less explosion damage, and I'm not sure for medic. Maybe faster weapon switch speed? (For syringe as well)

Matt E since the nerf the hellriegal isn't unbalanced. Keep in mind jack is just good so it looks better and it's a level 10 weapon for a reason.
Carson Tolliver yet it's literally the ONLY level 10 gun that doesn't require much skill. Doesn't matter if Jack is the best or worst player in the world, although he is really good, he would still do good if he had the Hellriegel.
Matt E I agree with you all the way, the medic and scout level 10 guns are horrid. Selbslater only gets one kill per clip, unless you land all shots as headshots you have the chance of 2 kills? Huot is good, but again with skill, it has low damage, low fire rate and requires a double reload for a full clip... Martini Henry used to be a god gun as well, standing up to the Hellriegel. But with excessive whining it was forced to be brought down so it takes more skill, again unlike the Hellriegel. The Hellriegel has great accuracy at close to medium range, rapid fire, and a larger magazine than most lmgs...
It and the automatico are still too good.
Matt E ..Not really, both only excel at close range and even then an accurate shotgun player wins. Since the Hellriegel's recoil and spread was upped the MP18 and Ribeyrollels can put more damage out at range too.

What monitor did you get? Also, great video Jack. I've been getting back into BF1 because I just built a badass PC and it's so much better than playing on console. I'm still not that great using a mouse to aim, but watching you have such amazing aim inspires me to keep learning and try to get it down. I started with a high sensitivity, bit I've been slowly lowering it and finding my aim to get better.
the tactic i used for the AT mines was place the mines in locations where the tanks will come out of in the spawn or heavy traveled areas, even after you die the mines stay if you place them close together it will kill the tank in one go, also horses get blown up with one mine

Battlefield 1 content is usually not entertaining but you make it enjoyable.
I just got the jerking bug in the game in the last week, I started experiencing it Wednesday I think. It is nice to know that other people have the problem too, at least now I know that it is not just my setup.

I can honestly say getting the defensive variant was some of the most fun I've had in this game. Not only because the hellriegl is stupid op, but going WAAAAAAY out of my way to hunt tanks (that were usually camping on a hill) with land mines was just fun!

10/10 about the tanks being too quiet. It's ridiculous that you can hear a trench raider grunting from 2 flags away but sometimes you miss on tanks that are very close to you.

Because I've already used at mines to death getting those 25 were simple, I unlocked the defensive within two days once the update launched.

I've noticed that if you were to pick up kits of off dead enemies, your character would then speak in the opposing team's language. For instance, I was playing as a British soldier and I picked up an enemy's kit after being depleted of ammo, and my character began to speak in Turkish.
