  • 3 notes on this one: instead of duplicating the subject with CMD+J, you should duplicate the whole layer and apply the selection as a layer mask so that you could paint back in details missed by the auto selection. Second, the Edit>Content Aware Fill is more powerful than the Fill>Content Aware Fill. Last and most importantly, Guassian Blur doesn't make the background look realistically blurred. Instead, use Lens Blur.

  • You can use "Tilt Blur" from Blur Gallery instead guassion blur! But make sure your background layer which is used content aware is converted into a smart object. You can even choose Bokeh Percent, light bokeh and others. The result is the same like the portrait mode and looks more natural. Sometimes, it is even looks like DSLR. Trust me and just try it! 😉 I'm just sharing my knowledge. I hope this is helpful to you!

  • Update - I use surface blur now far better technique I generally break the bg into layers from nearest to furthest and then lens blur and a slight gradient mask ( near to far) for that realistic look

  • Easy Way. Select subject, duplicate to new layer. Take base layer and if wanted duplicate it. Then add the gaussian blur.

  • Don't tell anyone: the DOF doesn't cause gaussian light scattering, but a so-called Bokeh effect instead (usually approximated with a convolution filter with a large matrix representing a slightly blurred image of a camera's aperture). Gaussian just looks meh.

  • Смотрю ваши работы. Всё здорово. Но тут нужно было бы, доработать всё таки лёгкую размытость на объекте. Может только по краям. Тогда точно получился бы атмосферный эффект. Хотя я понимаю что вы показали пример, как сделать по другому, в отличии от не опытных редакторов. Но картинку надо было завершить. Но спасибо за опыт!
