@@emeraldbonsai sure, but the chances are they wouldn't want to. Why would they change to EastEnders when they have shows just for kids all day every day available? Also I believe in the UK there's pretty strict limits for any ad, including those aimed at adults. For example you can't advertise tobacco products at all.

this cannot be real bruh i used to run a bunch of online stores insta rejected my ads 5 times because my privacy policy on my website was missing ONE line and tik tok turned down my ad for a completely blunt practice butterfly knife. I've fr had full on arguments with the ad approval teams in the support chats because their reasons for rejecting my stuff was sooo over the top.

I have a 1 year old, I'm not looking forward to navigating social media with her when she's older. Ideally she wouldn't touch it but that would just alienate her amongst her peers. Worryingly it looks like parental locks and controls are useless.
no child needs social media to have friends in school and be socially successful... my siblings are 13 and still dont have a phone and are still popular in school without the unnatural stress of a social media construct on a handheld device. worst thought is thinking a child needs it to have a social life. look at the state of what its done to the kids who have been raised on it.. totally incompatable brains

A lot of the dialogue from there is based off of 70s Canadian stoners, making them sound batshit insane at times. I dont understand how youre trying to tell me about my experiences. I lived in a town with a population of under 500 and still had to deal with alienation of not using social media. It got a lot worse in middle school, and unbearable in high school. I would say most people my age have had this experience too. I guess your siblings are a minority here.

I don’t think it’s the social media platforms responsibility to vet YOUR ads! You can advertise whatever you want to whom ever you want! I think it’s the responsibility of the company making the ad to not advertise these products to children! And whom ever choses to advertise these products to children I would hope would be sued into oblivion! Including you guys for choosing this stupid ass idea!!
