    • Hello Curt. You are correct. Turning animals out on pasture is not a task to be taken lightly. We like to make sure our livestock are all well fed before we turn them out. Grass tetany, clostridium, bloat, and other problems are all possible for people who don’t do this step correctly. Thanks for watching our videos and thanks for taking the time to send us a message!

  • Very educational!!! If I were to feed corn to my sheep, what is a safe amount to give them per feeding? Thanks

    @clc7800@clc78002 жыл бұрын
    • A good place to start is 1 pound per head per day of cracked corn.

    • Hello. Here is a link to the video we have about CL. kzhead.info/sun/dZejpauhaX-uo6c/bejne.html We specialize in raising breeding rams of various breeds for producers. We hand select, hand feed, and halter break all of our breeding rams. After one year, we have them tested and ensure they have no defects. They then move on to their “forever homes” or permanent farm. We are about 2 years out on our waiting list at this time.

  • Sir^^ Thank you for this video. If you don't mind, May I ask you a question? and I'd appreciate it ^^ In case, I bought adult female goats to breed. When do I need to give goats CD&T vaccination? Sir

    @user-wz2nd1ny9u@user-wz2nd1ny9u6 ай бұрын
    • Generally, you would give them CDT vaccinations at 6 weeks of age and again at 8 weeks of age. After this, you can give annually. Ideally, you would give the annual booster about 1-1/2 months prior to kidding.

  • Great video. I purchased a number of does that were heavy bred. They were not vaccinated. I gave them their first vaccination but some of them gave birth within the first week. I will be giving all the does their second shot in three weeks but should I go ahead a give the kids a shot ar two weeks of age or wait til they are six weeks? Thank you

    @davidglenewinkel4416@davidglenewinkel44162 жыл бұрын
    • This is a tough one. Within reason, I don’t think you should be afraid of vaccinating. When we have orphan lambs or goats that don’t get colostrum from vaccinated moms OR we get a bottle baby from someone, we vaccinate them against clostridium every other week until they are 6 weeks old. After 6 weeks of age we vaccinate again at 10 weeks of age. There is a vaccinated ewe serum you can purchase called OVIShield which contains all the antibodies your little ones would need as well. This would be added protection.

  • Question,when is the best time to give cd&t vaccine to pregnant doe?

    @jeansicat8801@jeansicat88012 жыл бұрын
    • Ideally, 3 weeks prior to birthing. Just to cover your bases, give it 2 weeks prior to birthing just in case you miss judged and she is a cycle behind what you assume

  • Sorry. I know this video was 1yr ago, but just watched it. Do u see any reason to give adult kiko goats cd&t shots more than 1x a yr. I ask because we bought a 1.5 yr buck(herdsire) His owner stated they gave cd&t every 4mths.

    @sandyoldfield5764@sandyoldfield57647 ай бұрын
    • The manufacturer directions state one year. Once the animal has the initial vaccination, every year would be the most I would do. Even once a year is probably overkill. In the case of females, we like to give it about 60 days prior to lambing or kidding to increase the blood antibody level to pass on to offspring and give some protection from birth to initial vaccination.

    • A lot of producers will use the sheep vaccine extra-label for goats. Good question. 😬

      @LinessaFarms@LinessaFarms7 ай бұрын
    • @LinessaFarms not sure what your saying, I think your saying if the rabies vaccine label includes sheep, it should be OK for goats then.
