    • @Bless Definitely! I saw an interview with Michelle Yeoh where she explained that she and Jackie Chan were blacklisted by every insurance company in Hollywood so they had to do all this crazy stunts without insurance. There was a scene were Michelle Yeoh should jump from one driving car to the other through a windshield (!) but the windshield did not break and she was hanging on the hood of that car and was slowly sliding down. Jackie grapped her and threw her to the side otherwise she would have ended under the car. According to her he gave her a little spin otherwise she would have landed on her head. So she fell just from a driving car onto the concrete. After that she got a short break and then they started shooting the scene again because they couldn't afford to stop the shoot because they had no insurance. Tom Cruise is a crazy guy compared to everyday people but these old school hongkong martial artists are a league of their own. And the craziest american actor of all times when it comes to stunts was most likely Buster Keaton.

    • It’s not really possible to compare. Many actors do their own stunts. Insurance is all about money and value. Ofcourse Tom is far more valuable as an actor but he can call the shots on his movies as he’s the producer. He’s the boss. They both still have safety teams and training etc. it shouldn’t be a competition. We don’t know how hard the stunts are, we only see what’s in the movie. It’s far more complicated behind the scenes. I just appreciate that there are still actors like them that respect that practical effects will always be better than cgi. Ofcourse cgi is needed in some scenes but lately it’s used too much in modern movies and it’s embarrassing

  • True story. I was living in London when the premiere of Eyes Wide Shut came to town and I happened to be in Leicester Square where everything was cordoned off for the fans when Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman were going to walk the barricades to greet the fans. I stopped and wiggled my way to the front (I'm super short) and soon enough Tom Cruise is making his way down the line and shaking the hands of fans (before selfies were a thing) and then he gets to me, looks me straight in the eyes, shakes my hand and says hello before moving on. It all happened in a span of two seconds but let me tell you, in those two seconds, NO ONE ELSE EXISTED! So Matt Damon and Conan O'Brien speak the truth! :) PS - Edge of Tomorrow and The Bourne Identity are two awesome films and I must have watched both a hundred times.

I think the "feud" with Jimmy Kimmel feels very forced most of the times. I'm not a big fan of skits, just make Matt tell tell funny stories, he's good at that. This anecdote reminded me of when Matt used to do a great impression of Matthew McConaughey on Late Show with David Letterman, David always asked for that whenever Matt appeared on his show, because it was hilarious. • Mr. Cruise is a high level Scientologist (OT 8 which highest of current levels). His and Mr. Miscaviges, who is the leader of the cult-business, nickname is related to laser somehow. For weak minded and easily suggestive people Mr. Cruise appears as charismatic etc., and he has some talent in acting which helps giving the impression, but people with sharper mind can see through him and are not convinced. His stare and voice has too much Scientology in them (they learn how to stare and use commanding voice) to be actually charismatic.

But you are prolly one of those people who judge something being trash based on what is said instead what is the basis of the information.
