I'm bilingual and learned about Luis Miguel in the 2000's. I got the Romances series(well, two of the albums) and a Mexican friend told me that he had been a child star and had lived a tragic life. I watched Temporada 1 and 2 over and over until they put Pt. 3 on and binge watched it. I watched it in Spanish to brush up on my skills and have become an avid "fan girl" of both Luismi and Diego. I've been watching all of of the videos/interviews-whatever I could find. It's fascinating.
In the 80’s and 90’s Luis Miguel was at the fame level of Michael Jackson, I think fame and stardom come with a price, you see it in the self-destruction of Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston for example. It’s sad how he can’t settle down and live a happy normal life, Luismi really doesn’t know how live a normal life and that’s probably one of the biggest tragedies of his life. I’m still so thankful to him for sharing his amazing voice with us through out the years, I’ll always love that man.

Me too, being latin but only a rock listener, used to dislike this romantic spanish music and now I even play it loud to my american husband here in Israel, lol. Missed 3d season, so joining again Netflix just to watch it
@@carolshaw-slife276 he has deep psychological issues, he has children to love and care for and he totally left them. Just like he did with his brothers, to him, family is something to run away from not to cherish.

All credit goes to Boneta. They could have very easily casted someone else who got closer to Luis Miguel’s voice yet Diego took the challenge of sounding very similar without making a vocal cartoon. Loved the series, season 3 was just a shocker
@@franksanz1044 partially agree. personifying a mega star like Luis Miguel is a huge challenge! Luis Miguel has “it” and that’s why he became the legend he is, so obviously nobody can pull being him. Just like trying to personify Elvis and or MJ. Some people can imitate LM mannerisms, but his voice is very unique. Could he had been dubbed? I guess but I prefer what they did, letting Boneta do the singing. I was telling the wife that one thing I would have preferred is if they had recorded the songs where he’s singing in concert in a fake “live” style not the studio versions. They could have autotuned his voice because obviously he can’t sing like LM. About the production, it was a hit and miss, definitely not Hollywood level. My favorite seasons where the first and the 3rd.
@@franksanz1044 agree Jaenada stole the show and I kind of figured that with him out of the pic for season 2 the story would lack that counterbalance.

Diego Baneta does such an Amazing job at portraying Luis Miguel! Diego has a wonderful gift! The fact that he wants to also portray Mexicans other as Narco Gangs is admirable because the Mexican culture shouldn't be defined by drug dealers. The Mexican culture is Amazingly beautiful with the culture, food, regional dances, its people, etc.
I think those narco shows are a disgrace and are just making the real narcos more powerful and famous. But sadly those shows are basically the only way Mexican or Hispanic actors can gain notoriety in America.

@@fmed2412 you take things too literal, don’t you? Diego Luna and Gael GB are the exception but mostly, Hispanic actors only get mafia related roles, the comic relief or the sidekick. Same thing happened to blacks for decades until they started to show Hollywood their potential. There are three amazing Mexican Academy Award winning directors why can’t we have actors too? Hollywood is still too busy with giving a chance to black actors to know there are other minorities that have the same potential and talent. I guess for Hollywood is one minority at a time.
Gracias Trevor to show and spread the Mexican talent. I met Luis Miguel when he was 12 years and he started. We didn't know the struggling with his dad. I was in two concerts. Such a wonderful performer. Such a tormented life. He had all the money and opportunities not to repeat some of his dad mistakes but he neglected and abandoned his kids. I don't simpatized with him as a parent but is on the greatest Latin singer of all times. I watched the series recently. Diego Boneta is awesome. Not a better person to perform Luis Miguel.

I have known about Diego Boneta since he was in Pretty Little Liars and I hope that he gets a Golden Globe or Emmy for his role as Luis Miguel!!! He’s also my new celebrity crush and he’s close to my age!!

I grew up listening to Luis Miguel, and watching Diego impersonating him was just mind blowing. I’m also a huge fan of Trevor, so this made my day :)

I love these sit downs with Trevor. They're so intimate and I feel like I really get the chance to hear the guest's heart.
Even as someone who was one of the initial skeptics of Trevor taking on The Daily Show (I've obviously since changed my stance), I'd say Trevor is inarguably one of the absolute best interviewers - across platforms or show formats - that we have present day. Whether you're a fan or oppose his General viewpoints, it doesn't matter if he's interviewing someone you detest or adore or have no familiarity with, he is just very gifted at interviewing. He pulls something different from his guests than anyone else. His interviews are just very distinct and not comparable to anyone else's I'm familiar with.

Luis Miguel or El Sol is the best singer ever!!! We love him so much!!! I remember when I was around 16 and went to see him sing in San Diego with my whole family, the show was extraordinary. Diego did a great performance, he's so handsome, great singer, great actor 🥰😘

I'm here to say that I've been following his career since Rebelde and in 2006 he even got to sing in Maracanã, arguably the most famous football stadium in the world, when he opened for RBD in Brazil.

Wow I didn't know there was a show biopic of a legend? I don't think I really know Luis Miguel but most biopics are like movies so this is the first time I'm hearing that there's actually a show that's a biopic
There's a Netflix show about Luis Miguel's life called "Luis Miguel: La Serie" and on Thursday, the third and final season premiered.
There are others on Netflix too.
