India's External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar's confrontational side came to the fore once again during his recent trip to the United States of America. At an event hosted by the Council on Foreign Relations in New York, Jaishankar took on foreign reporters who raised questions regarding the ongoing diplomatic tiff between Delhi and Ottawa, and also Western institutions' claims that democracy is under threat in India.   • I'm British, and I really wish we had someone like Jaishankar in our office. On what I have seen, he answers questions articulately and directly, and does not try to weasel out of answering tough questions like most of our politicians do. He does this whilst looking out for his country's interests, and full respect to him for doing so. My favourite quote of his is "Europe has to grow out of mindset that Europe's problems are world's problems", and I couldn't agree more.
