Amazing battle! The more I watch these type of videos the more I am impressed with Honda engines. I mean 1.8 NA battles 2.0 turbo Subaru!!

That Civic type R is only a 1600cc motor bro it's a destroked ITR motor essentially. That wrx should feel desgraced for how small of a margin he won by with the ITR of 100hp less right on his ass across the line , considering the Subi has 100hp more and Awd I'm not even slightly impressed by the suburu

This was cool man! Really wanting a civic type R nowadays. lol.
FTO is still a great car, but the stock air flow and exhaust on them are restricting. to beat the itr a good pod filter, and full exaust does the trick.
My mates dad had an FTO GPX it was surprisingly fast standard, nice car.
Non JDM ITR's will lose to the FTO GPvR though, they added like an extra 100kg to them in safety crap.
The FTO can't keep up with the Integra with or without intake. It's seconds faster and it's not about power but handling.
@@ToyotaAristo lol mate, I’ve owned a gpvr fto and I can tell you it definitely makes a difference on a type r teg around the track. The extra torque the v6 has in the lower rpm makes a faster getaway out of the corners the fto can definitely complete
@@ExoticSpeedify the fastest lap time for the FTO is 1:12:81 and for the integra Type R is 1:09:20. The integra is much faster and precise for the corners. It is on another level. You're not beating almost 4 seconds difference with a pod filter. Not without suspension, engine tune, tyres, etc, etc.
There is also another race between FTO and ITR, where the FTO did a faster lap at 1.09.63 and the ITR did 1.09.39. Verry close rivals
These old school jdm battles are the best. New cars are so boring. Best motoring need to do some more old school battles.

That's not much of an accomplishment non the less though considering it has 100 hp more than each of those type R's and all wheel drive , considering it didn't win by much I'd almost say it lost due to how unevenly matched the cars were.

280hp turbo AWD vs 1.8 na fwd and it barely beat it at the end after really struggling.... It was supposed to be like that.
@@ToyotaAristoIt also started way behind and still caught up to it. The DC2 Type R is a beast but had both cars been alone on the track, the STi would've left it in the dust, even if the DC2 is better at cornering, the STi's power will just widen the gap on the straights.
It would have been embarrassing had it not beat it, and altough it won, it wasn't a convincing win. The Integra was keeping up without any problem. I like both the scooby and Integra as I've had both, but as a drivers car the ITR has more character.
@@irfymx3882 Ah well, you had a point, lightness does help, alongside a larger engine than the Civic Type R, it does not being hailed as the best front-wheel drive car ever for no reason. My love for Impreza does exceeds my love for the DC2 ever so slightly, no there's no denying that the latter's performance against the Impreza is certainly impressive.
This is so much better than formula 1. The Civic and its driver are awesome!!

Why does everyone bully EVO? In europe we know them were wery well built stable cars (mostly up from 5) with 4g63.. they could handle 400whp easily on stock engine forever here. They are almost bulletproof. Whats the difference?
They couldn't get and Evo V? I think 97 it was him already. And with a good engine...

why didnt honda make a m3 killer i still dont understand? Imagine a B32c!? JESUS! Even the SK2 engine was amazing power to size output but, imagine if they went bigger?! I know the NSX does exist but for a sports rwd coupe at a similar price to a m3... that would be amazing.

The should have had the Mitsi Mirage (Colt) Cyborg MIVEC and the Nissan Pulsar VZR N1 in the mix here. They are more in the league off the 1.6 Civic than the Sti and Evo..Putting 2.0L Turbo 4wd cars battling 1.6 N/A fwd cars is a very unfair battle.

it wasn't a problem with the engine this time the AYC diff. In a street use car, the oil capacity when used hard on the circuit will heat and burn unless 50cc of volume is removed.
