There should be a mod that either additionally prevents extra traits occurring at random, or otherwise make it so you can toggle that "only directly applied traits pass down 100%"
You are a smart man my friend
do the other kingdoms mix and get traits?
“Hammerfell, where the Redguard lives” is such a powerful verbal slip up because it implies that a single Redguard has been holding the line securing an entire region for just themself.
Skyrim had already been part of the Empire well before the events of the game, they joined it of their own accord when they found out Emperor Tiber Septim was a Dragonborn, who would later ascend to godhood as Talos. The rebellion started, mainly, because the Empire kind of lost against the Aldmeri Dominion and in order to end the Great War the Empire had to sign the White-Gold Concordat which, among other things, banned worship of Talos, who the High Elves see as a false Divine. It also allowed the Thalmor to get a foothold in Skyrim. Jarl Ulfric Stormcloak believed that the Empire had been corrupted by the Aldmeri Dominion and had grown weak so he challenged the former High King of Skyrim to a duel and won, fairly or unfairly depending on who you ask, but his victory was seen as an attempt to usurp the throne and Ulfric was branded as a traitor, thus the Stormcloak rebellion began.

I believe regen also would have worked with the argonians
yep there were the amphibian and regeneration perks .... i was wondering aswell why he completly disregarded them-
Also Argonians are absolutely amazing warriors. In the Oblivion Crisis they fought the Daedra back through the gates and launched an invasion on the oblivion realm. Talk about Uno reverse.
@@DonTekNO Pretty on-brand for Argonians to be disregarded. It's not like they're entire race was born as slaves to a bunch of trees or anything.
Argonians are actually very strong in combat, infact all the races are strong in combat because in pre industrial societes what people care about is that their society survives and that they do and that happening requires your people to not be conquered ensalved or slaughtered.
Argonians: Strong, tough, ability to regenerate, able to take over a realm for basically demons! Gorg: I see! Lucky and Agile :)
3:32 the argonians arent the ones that are thieves by nature, its the khajeet.
No race is a thief by nature. Some races are more inclined for stealth, but that doesn't make them become thieves on their own. Because of the poor reputation of the khajiit, they are shunned from greater society, and because the khajiit are shunned from greater society, they resort to thievery. It's a vicious, self-fulfilling cycle.
Each description in character creation says they make good thieves/magic users, and they're bonus stats help with that. Khajiit are more pure thief tho
Not all Khajiit are liars and thieves. Some also deal in Skooma!
I think it would be really cool if the creators of this game got more into the programming of how the populations and their behaviors work. Like if land had actual stats for what they could give as a buff or nerf. And depending on how good the land was they’d direct their behavior to be aggressive towards that land. Or if terrain besides mountains discouraged them from moving armies through that land. Like swamps or jungles having an impact on movement speed. Love these videos and this game. A lot of potential
natural selection?
Should've given Dragonslayer to the Nords given the whole theme of Skyrim is dragons. Also I think Fire Blood would've been a good trait to give to the Dunmer. 10:55 Are you sure you played Skyrim? Because that is NOT the story of Skyrim. The people of Skyrim were loyal vassals of the Empire and many Nords fought for the Empire against the Thalmor. The Stormcloak Rebellion was about the treaty made between the Empire and Thalmor after the war that outlawed Talos worship when Talos Worshippers made up the majority of Skyrim's population.
Well no because that's only one SPECIFIC person
@@SinfullyHera Talos the Dragonborn (the second most powerful Dragonborn of all time and first true King of Tamriel) was a Nord, the Septim line of Dragonborns derives from Nords, the Dragon/Human war revolved around Skyrim (The Snow Tower/Throat of the World, Alduin's battle), Alduin is a Nordic entity, history regarding Dragonrend was recorded in Skyrim, Skyrim should have dragonslayer role lol
@@fultheim3580 All of Skyrim should have it? Well no because like I said, it's one specific person, Tiber Septim was the only Dragonborn of his time and the player Dragonborn is also the only Dragonborn of their time (Well technically Miraak but we all know what happened to him.), unless this takes place during the dragon/human war then no, they shouldn't all have dragonslayer because really the vast majority ARE NOT dragonslayers since the dragons weren't even around after the dragon/human war...and if it is during that war then Skyrim should have dragons floating about destroying it during this video :D
@@SinfullyHera pretty sure I've seen a white run guard jump a dragon and straight up murked him before so...🤣🤷
@@SinfullyHeraYou're arguing lore for the giving of traits that are totally utilitarian. Therefore your argument is irrelevant.
Morrowind was my favorite game, the atmosphere and vibe of morrowind was so much cooler then both oblivion and skyrim. I think the mod that allows people to guaranteed carry traits directly heavily balances it towards the humans, human have a fairly fast population growth and so they accumulate traits quickly, as well as the fact that since most kingdoms today were human the nords were able to gain the traits of imperials, bretons, and redguards.

As someone who played Skyrim first, I have to say I think Oblivion is my favorite elder scrolls game. It gets everything right. While I do like how Skyrim has better smithing and enchanting, I think oblivion gives an overall more immersive and interactive open world RPG experience. Skyrim focuses a bit too much on narrative whereas Oblivion strikes a perfect balance.
I like Skyrim more for replay ability and the dlc's with mods of course. But Oblivion is my go to with Morrowind for when I want to do factions or main quests.
Skyrim has better combat and exploration but oblivion definitely has better RPG elements and quests
Morrowind is the best tbh, though oblivion is better than Skyrim. The releases since Daggerfall have been going in a descending order, morrowind best because it's more modern while actually being a proper rpg and world sim. Oblivion did so much damage to the lore and Skyrim even more
Bretons are not the trader types, that would be imperials. Afterall the expression goes "wherever there is gold to be made, imperials always find a way to make a little more"
Yo, I Love elders scrolls and i love your content, keep up the great work!

What if there was a map with different areas representing the planes of Oblivion, like the Shivering Isles, the Deadlands, and Coldharbour? It would be cool to see a sort of battle between all the daedric princes. Awesome video, the Elder Scrolls is probably my favorite video game franchise.
I've recently found your channel and love the content!
If you like elder scrolls you'll love the lore of the argonians during the oblivion crisis it's kinda hilarious
Now you have to do a full Nirn map. The Akaviri kingdoms would be wildin’. (I suggest the Elder Kings map since it has the most variety)

The fact that Skyrim got the Giant trait actually fits. It was cut from the game along with the imperial battlemages, but the Stormcloaks originally had giants. They even wore Stormcloak armor.
If you name the cultures at the very beginning based on the main Race of the province, it does a good job at tracking where they move. I had a run where the Argonians invaded all of Southern Tamriel despite their empire being destroyef
I agree, Oblivion was one of my first TES games and it really hits profoundly.
Great video Gorg! May I ask if you could make a video on how to do the Worldbox map converter (image to worldbox map)? I can't find any video on the topic and it could help me (and maybe others) on how to do it. Thanks if you read this.
Ngl, I feel like giving the nords two of the relatively strongest traits right off the get go made them as strong as the orcs at that point which is why they could be in 5 wars at once and still win...may have given them a bit tooo much in my opinion when it came to strength traits. But also the other races have yo completely burn down sections of the other races in order to build them up, while for skyrim they were able to just subjugate almost all of cyradil, do the same to the redguard, and same with the Bretons...which essentially at that point made them unstoppable.
You should totally do some maps from Brandon Sanderson's books! Some great world building there 😊
Excellent video! A Song of Ice and Fire map maybe next? (Game of Thrones)
Now we just need Akavir, Tamriel and Atmora all fighting!
"I feel like I've given everyone fast" (had swapped to Agile or something of the like for everyone but one prior to that, only one group had been given fast at the time)
I’ve never been more excited
Great video as always g
Yes I have been asking for this
NIce map, nice video... but can't press like with Heart in it... the Orsimer slander with you NOT giving them a new Orsinium at the start and even leaving them out completly... nope. Also: Morrowind IS the best game story- and quest-wise... but admitedly hard to get into after all those years. Even as big fan of it. Mods can do wonders... but not everything. But when Skywind comes out... give it another shot... you will love it.
Love the video. You could have goblins as orsinium to have balanced orcs
Orcs do actually have their own kingdom, kinda NW up against High Rock is the city-state of Orsinium, as well as them having Orc Strongholds scattered around, if you're keeping with the organization of the races. Also, since you have mixed race settlement thingies with DiversityCrate, it might be neat to do the Three-Banners war! If you don't already know about it, shortly after the fall of the Second Empire, Cyrodiil kinda fell apart. Due to this, all the races became their own sovereign states and formed alliances. There was the Daggerfall Covenant, between Bretons, Orcs, and Redguards. Then is the Ebonheart Pact, an alliance between Dark Elves, Nords, and Argonians, and then the Aldmeri Dominion, an alliance between Khajiit, Wood Elves, and High Elves. They then had a huge war over Cyrodiil, each alliance wanting the throne for themselves. Plus since it was during the Planemeld there were a buncha demons invading that could spice things up.
That Oblivion lofi at the end...
great video keep up the great work
Oblivion was a bad game part due to leveled gear, sue me. There was that one cave where mercenary and bandits where fighting where you could go every week to gather an infinite number of leveled gear with close to no effort (apart from the one boss remaining after the two bosses fight it out). Once you hit the end game, go there and you end up with several pieces of glass/daedric armor for a walk in the park. Only issue is you either had to babysit that Orc knight NPC or watch her die once you hit mid level (because she somehow wasn't leveled but the enemy was). I also hated how many quests I had to put on hold so that the artifact it gave was actually usable throughout the game. An artifact should be an artifact. Kinda suck to get an artifact that gets useless a few levels later but would be an late game item if you waited to complete the quest. Didn't find the quests/story/characters that great either. I can acknowledge either Morrowind (personal favorite), Skyrim or ESO being the best depending on preference, but to me Oblivion was not a great game.
Yeah I hate that unique quest rewards are leveled and you have to not get them until late game if you want them to be good
The enemy leveling was also very wonky. At the start you'd have a relatively easy time and once you hit level 10 every dungeon suddenly has ogres one hitting you to death, and once you finally get past level 20-ish and over those pretty harsh mid-levels all enemies are suddenly only minotaur kings or xivilai, which aren't a real problem at that point really but it makes for a very weird experience to only see those enemies anymore.
I love you, man. I freakin' love you.
Tbh during the oblivion crisis when blackmarsh was invaded the argonians fought so hard that they pushed the deadric lines back to the gates and once they broke through they began invading oblivion which ended up with mehrunes dagon closing the portals to black marsh out of fear
The flash backs of me Playing eso is coming back
Argonians should've had regeneration. The hist that created them gives them the gift of rapid regen, or hist-skin Also the orcs could've been cursed and dumb. This is because the orcs are elves, the reason they look "ugly" is they were cursed by boethiah. They would be dumb not because they are, but because it makes them develop society slowly, which is accurate since they won't stop sacking and rebuilding orsinium.i know the whole region reason makes sense but if you did a video on elder scrolls again this would be helpful for keeping balance. Dark elves should have fire proof. I know, they're not actually 100% fireproof, but they're as fireproof as Nords are frost proof. You should do a video on "can cyrodil survive the oblivion crisis in worldbox" using demons and demon spires Great vid!
Should've added one more trait for the argonians to represent the hist. Having a sentient hivemind race of trees that can grant physical/magical powers is super OP.
I think it would be cool to make Undertale in Worldbox... (maybe) Either an actual RPG with a controllable character or just put all the different sections into colonies like Snowdin, Hotland etc.
I know a lot of people hate it but I really enjoy Daggarfall (but also I like morrowind, oblivion, and Skyrim too)
Suggestion: the Amphibia map (which is shaped like a lily pad)
A little late but I think Ulfirc Stormcloak and Galmar Stone-Fist dream came true about sailing to the high elves pretty little island and destroying them
We already got a skyrim video, I can't remember who one, but I always thought it would be neat to do one for each nation, take the provinces that one and have them represent their nations, then do a video on the tamriel map to see who's the most powerful province in all of tamriel
Great video! But there's one thing I would like to criticize: WHERE TF IS MY ORC REPRESENTATION? Also you wrote Elsweyr wrong there, but that's no big deal lol
Bro your videos so good while eating food
Honestly lore wise, I think the argonians would win. Especially if they started planting hist trees in places they conquered. Summerset is a huge superpower but they don't repopulate fast. They conquered the empire and some parts of hammerfell but they need to use elsweyr and valenwood for reinforcements.
never forget, when oblivion invaded tamriel, black marsh invaded oblivion
@@emeraldwarrior588 i know. Not to toot my own horn or anything but I pretty much know everything about the elder scrolls lore. I even know what the deal was with the whole night of tears thing. The real truth, not the fictional truth within the game, like the plebes like to believe. That's why I love the elder scrolls. They did it like how people in real life wrote history, through the people's perspective. And it really goes to show how gullible people are and why no one knows history in real life. I couldn't tell you how many times I've seen everyone on the forums get everything wrong because they "read the book in the game" lol. I don't know if this is entirely correct, but I have heard people say that Golden Tooth is a mostly useless trait that is just automatically applied to some people when they become kings.
I think that it's why the description says that it's a "symbol of wealth and respect"
Skyrim coming down and founding a continent wide empire starting with High Rock and ending with Black Marsh. Sounds exactly like Tiber Septim's Empire!
Argonians arent really Thieves (that ik of) they are scouts but they have some magic via the hist so regen and a maybe eagle eye regen for sure tho
5:47 that's funny cause morrowind was released the same year i was born and i've gotten *really* into it. then again i watched my dad play it as a kid so maybe that makes me biased

Skyrim taking over is basically the story of Tiber Septim.
You're ignoring the part where Tiber Septim was a Colovian general who already had an Army before the Nords bent the knee.

Oblivion as well took a few steps back from Morrowind. A lot of weapons were taken out of Oblivion that were in Morrowind. Oblivion is my favorite as well though.
Well, Skyrim was already part of the Empire. The initial conflict revolved around the banning of Talos worship as per one of the requirements of the White-Gold Concordant, a peace treaty between the High Elves and the Imperials after the Great War. The Jarl of Windhelm, Ulfric Stormcloak strongly disagreed with this treaty and formed a rebellion in retaliation of it.
