"you improperly crossed the road", hello officer, do you not see your vehicle parked on the sidewalk? WTF! Easy lawsuit here. Notice how the vehicle that is pulled over is blocking the sidewalk that would prevent a pedestrian to cross inline with it from the other side of the road. Kind of blows the dummies argument out of the water. Looks like the officers have a good chance of losing qualified immunity.

It was immediately dismissed by the judge and he was suspended for 30 days. During his suspension, he made a false 911 call in an attempt to get me arrested. Then, after his suspension, he performed a gun drawn felony stop on me for a faulty tailight that wasn't faulty. I was NEVER arrested because I never broke the law. The cop was fired after the felony stop when his captain figured out what was going on. So, how does that boot taste?

About 20 years ago I recorded a traffic stop that occurred right in front of my house, on a very residential side street, from an upstairs window. Yes, I was INSIDE my house. I happened to see it, grabbed my old camcorder, went upstairs, opened the window and started recording. Had a great view. Nothing happened with the driver except for being given a ticket for going through a stop sign a couple of blocks away. However, when the cop noticed me recording he walked up my driveway and wanted to know what I was doing. I told him I was just playing with my camera and ordered him to leave the property. He tried to make a thing of it, pulling out all his cop tricks. I stated that I would "remain silent" and just kept recording. He finally left, but did take down the license plates of my cars in the driveway. I filed a complaint and he WAS reprimanded. Never saw him again.

These bullies make my blood boil even though I am not in USA. I am a 65 year old man living in Northern Ireland. We suffered decades of murders, riots and bombs. I keep hearing the phrase "officer safety" as if the cops are in mortal danger. As motorists and pedestrians we were stopped daily by our police force who were backed up by the British Army. Many soldiers and cops here lost their lives to guns and bombs. At traffic stops I never heard any member of the security forces crying officer safety. These guys carried out their duties under the full knowledge that they could be in the cross hairs of a snipers rifle. The bad cops you have are cowardly, ignorant bullies with little intelligence and even less training. These bad apples are not removed by the good cops, rather they seem to bury the bad apples in amongst the good ones. I know it's none of my business, so feel free to tell me where to get off! No hard feelings!

Shame on DeSantis for his recent enactments. 25’ distance with extremely subjective “emotional distress” and “legitimate purpose” provisions. He also issued new rules on civilian review boards. One provision requires members to be appointed by the sheriff. He should be embarrassed by this blatant attempt to further shield cops from any accountability or transparency. Hopefully he will be successfully challenged in court.

Anybody who audits is a hero in my books. Every auditor will get arrested. Practice these lines ahead of time outloud and be comfortable saying them: 1. Am I being detained? 2. I do not waive my 1st, 4th, and 5th amendment rights 3. I am not resisting. Say each multiple times at the appropriate time. Take care. Have a security plan. Let someone know your plans. Do not film on your primary phone. Phones and cameras are regularly seized and held for no reason other than to hassle the auditor. Any equipment seized by the popo may be infected with malware and tracking software. Back up your videos off site. We live and learn. Have a lawyer lined up. Watch lots of other experienced auditors.
