  • Finally! A video of some real road building . Not some video of fancy big dozer bushing dirt and brush off the surface of a small mound of dirt. Reminds me of some of my long days busting rock making skid roads or trying to get to the top of a hill to do some logging.

    • Yes a very good operator, I’m from Oklahoma, we don’t need to do this kind of work. It’s all oilfield work around here no mountains very few rocks still a lot of hard work. Just nothing like this

  • The 1 thing I learned about these things is that all dozers ain't created equal. I was watching a guy operate a Liebherr 746 dozer, that guy wasn't cutting a road in through dirt and rocks, he was literally carving his way through the middle of a frickin mountain. That thing made this cat look like a tinker toy.

    • My friend, Liebherr cannot be compared with Caterpillar. We have both machines. Of course, the biggest factor is that if your operator is good, he can even draw pictures on the mountains.👍

    • Saw same video, thought the same. The Liebherr 746 is 200 hp, weighs 32,500 lbs, Cat is 258 hp, weighs 44,000 lbs. You would think with the hp and weight advantages the CAT would outperform, but not so!

  • That poor CAT dozer, he beat the hell out of it on this road. Might want to get the excavator in there first to loosen that stuff up first.

  • hard on the angle blade a semi U blade for rock work is quicker and being narrower the track is closer to blade end giving more push

    • The d 7 was made for this type of work. Too many people watching too many videos of a brand new d11 enclosed cab high drive with air conditioning pushing surface dirt and brush or loose fill dirt on flat ground. This is where the real men and real experienced operators come to work. To build road and not end up over the side.
