@@throwachairnot a video, the song was recorded 😅 Her memory is now linked, more than to her hard filmography, to her career as a performer in the disco music genre , in which she made her debut almost by chance: in 1975 she was in Jamaica shooting an advert for a local real estate company and, precisely in those days, the Jamaican government banned the transfer of any type of assets abroad, in response to sanctions imposed by the United States after the election of pro-Castro Michael Manley as Prime Minister. Andrea True therefore had to choose between two alternatives: giving up the advertising fee or spending the entire sum received within the Caribbean island. You know the story right? The government of Jamaica would not allow Andrea to leave the country with money she had earned there. She rented a studio, paid for top notch Jamaican musicians and recorded this one song. She was allowed to leave with a piece of magnetic tape. As she initially had the one track, the original Buddah 45 RPM had the instrumental as it's flip side.

I used to work with the rhythm guitarist (the other guitarist is Bruce Kulick, future Meat Loaf, Kiss) at a record store in NYC for 3 years. There was just him, my boss and me, so we spent many hours talking. My friend, Joey Barbosa, would tell me about Bruce sharing with him the Blackjack demoes, and my friend saying the singer would never be famous (the singer was Michael Bolton). Bruce was playing with my friend in a Queens band. Bruce was recruited to then tour with Andrea who recorded the albums with studio guys. Bruce said instead of auditioning for members, why not use his band. The leader singer was kept and is the bongo player. They then added the horn line for the tour in Europe, America and Mexico. When they recorded the 3 shows for Don Kirshner they added the dancers (who were later married), as, according to Joey, Andrea would just stand there. Nobody could get her to move. He'd tour with her again, though with a different band. By then Bruce was on to Meatloaf. I remember him saying he talked to Andrea once or twice a year on the phone, but couldn't get in touch with her thinking she was sick or dead. Later that year, she died. Joey continued playing in a british invasion covers pub band in NYC (this was a decade ago, I lost track of him when I moved) called Tru Brit. Joey's face and name is on the second album, but he's not on it.

With her smile Andrea was absolutely gorgeous.
Loved this song when it came out and fell in love with her when i saw the video. Kirschner's Rock Concert & The Midnight Special were great for showcasing great acts. RIP Andrea. 😔
Amo esta canción ❤ es hermosa...cuantos recuerdos bella...bella 💃gracias infinitas por compartirlo bendiciones y parabienes 🙌🌻🎶
She's actually not that bad of a singer. Nice live performance Andrea true 1943 - 2011 (r.i.p).
True, not that good either, but decent for a live performance. It can be difficult to hold notes live. She gets a c.
Her live voice is not as good as the studio engineered sound but just like most disco singers of old, studios often added effects and even pitch shifted a singers voice to sound better. This isn't a bad live version. I prefer it over the lip syncing that so many bands of that era (and even today) do.
Listening to her voice on several recordings, you hear some well supported vibrato especially on the higher notes. Someone worked with her, but then again that lower abdominal support was part of her work. ;)
@@Nubias Still better than most of these so-called artists today
Love/ ❤️ hrr& this song
She's definitely singing it live, and it's very good!
Truly live...the girl could sing
Really
Wow...whatta great surprise to find this video of her singing live...incredible. R.I.P
More More More. I was 10 when it was made. The song was the most iconic of the 70's the rhythm, style. and that sound with that special effect towards the end, marvellous. Andrea True passed due to heart condition 2011, RIP. The song will be remembered by myself for a long time.
she sounds great and that band wow
A girl finding fun in everything and having fun with what she sang !
rip Andrea Marie Truden November 7, 2011
Bruce Kulick , very talented guitar player...
Did he play here?
Sweet baby, hope you are at peace.
😘😘😘😘😘😘Im still in love with her
RIP Andrea True. I like this version better than the original.
Now, who remembers roller skating to this? Good Times!
Bruce Kulick guitarist on the far right in white suit. Was a member of KISS for years. The man can play.
I ignored it....he is one best guitarists on the world and the kiss is one of my fav bands
Live that's amazing: this was a national live show: I think andrea true and her band really rehearsed hard for this show! They nailed it big time!
She sounds good, the band is great too.
As well 🕺...even if I.don't like scenery
She sounded good live, no lipsynching.
No lip syncing! Thank you.
What a GEM!!!!
Her joy is melting my heart...like ahe is finally doing something that her mother could be proud of....And that band is on fire!
Felt the same
Apparently the performance at Don Kirschner's New Rock Concert as broadcasted September 25, 1976 - a beautiful live version - r.i.p. Ms. True.
These amazing musicians really made this live performance above par!
Man that was such a great show, Don Kirchner's Rock Concert.
The One and Only, Andrea True
Andrea True...Podría haber hecho mucho más , tenia talento, belleza y presencia...quizas no tuvo las oportunidades que merecía..
andrea true for the rock and roll hall of fame
I still love her❤
Love / ❤️ this song
Very rare! Enjoy Andrea.
This was way before journey’s “anyway you want it”. They gave KC and the sunshine band a run for their money. Can’t believe it’s been 10 years since she’s been gone. RIP Andrea. I’m goin to request this song at my 18 year old son’s wedding next year.
anyone that would request a porn star's song would have an 18 yr old son getting married. oh...wait...
I’m missing the Journey connection. What does Any Way You Want it have to do with More More More?
@@jv-ep2tc you seem to lead a very judgmental life ... interesting how many of your comments in the comment history are about either the Cowsills or gay marriage - anything you need to tell us, sweetie?
The radio stations play journey way too much.
@@alerobabes01that’s why my son and I have a subscription to Apple Music
She had the moves that's for sure
Andrea True is one of my fabs ever!!!
She has such an infectious smile in this. Really a sweet look. I much prefer this to the official video. Horn players are pretty good too.
Agreed. In the official video, she looks a bit tired/older than her then 33 years. Here, she looks fresh.
Eras hermosa Andrea y que bonito que cantabas..RIP
Absolutely lovely and atmospheric live version. Fckng love this gorgeous woman and the era that produced her. ❤❤
extraordinaria cancion ..🤩🤩🤩
R.I.P. Andrea!

Fantastic song...there's no copie/paste in this...this is true 70-ties pure live stuff fellas Steal Andrea's sunshine is not possible
Brilliant band indeed
Thanks
If you didn’t know this great hit was heavily sampled for Lyn’s Hit song Steel My Sunshine from the mid 1990s
I did coke with Andrea At the Adam’s apple disco in NYC. Great person the life of the party
Love the smile at 0.30.
Being a southern belle from Tennessee made her smile and her song even hotter.
The story behind how this song came about is just as amazing as the song itself…
Excellent!!
she really reminds me of laura prepon[donna] in that 70 show over and above all the other stuff in her life she was a great singer with a kick ass band [rip]angel
totally kick ass band right??
I just heard this song in a Goodwill store last Saturday, after not hearing it for at least 30 yrs. I had no idea she was a porn star, yet this song was so popular on AM radio and those K-Tel disco albums of the 70's. 🤘
This might be the very video that brings leisure suits back.
Iive vidio wow andrea tru connection luv it makes u want more more
Rip she was amazing
Didn’t know that their lead singer was that attractive!!
The Concert,: memorence of Miss Trueden, and the other actors.. for all its worth, they are remebered

I also had the 45 record.

Yep - this was def played at the Bar Mitzvah circuit. Remembe it well - classic Disco - and the groove sounds like it was used by Len in "Steal My Sunshine" check it. Great memories.
Beautiful peice of 1970s music
