I trained with kay both at combat submission wrestling fullerton and 10th planet jiu jitsu buena park, I saw her father staring the whole time during the training and i could sense it was a toxic situation. Im glad to see she has taken back control of her life and is moving forward.
Sooo many young fighters tell similar stories, and it goes all the way back to combat sports beginnings. It's a huge part of the reason why combat sports are so important and successful. Life is a fight for survival. A great many people search for their moment of glory inside that arena, but very few actually find it. More importantly, though, is the many people who achieve that "Rocky" moment outside the ropes and Kay Hansen is among those who have. Her journey continues, however, and she may yet have her moment in the winners' spotlight, and I wish nothing but the best.
Love you Kay. You will be a champ one day just keep fighting.

Kay, I think, needs to (a) be more proud of herself and (b) be herself. She's at worst a good athlete, a hard worker, has a strong will and is a pretty, young woman. That's the floor for her. She can accomplish quite a lot in mma and in life, but first and foremost, get that state of mind in the right place and everything else will follow.
