This camera work is absolutely brilliant. It was burned into my brain since the first time I saw this film. It's what I remember most about it.

Jennifer Connelly is just perfect.
She was when she was young, but the days of Career Opportunities and Mulholland Falls are long behind her. She doesn't seem to be aging very well (you'll have that with Irish women), and her breasts seem to have shrunken with age. Sad, as hers was once a legendary rack.

This a very good movie about damaged people who think they have it all figured out by doing things no one in their right minds should be doing.I know exactly what addiction is,and this only a piece of it.Believe me.
i love how this film shows what happens with any addiction, whether heroine, alchohol, lust etc and that it does start to decay your life

Definitely one of the most powerful and affecting films I've ever seen. To this day, I've not seen a psychological drama that even comes close. It is a difficult film to watch, but that is what makes it a success. It doesn't pull any punches.
The power of the images and the story are so strong, and the situations so face slapping, that everytime i watch it, makes me feel sick, no of the movie, but of society, and how low someone can fall, without a way to escape
I been addicted to pain medication and know what this kind of life is like nothing romantic or loving about it you want to get rid of the pain so bad you can't rest until it's relieved..., the pain, i should be dead right now but i got help and i made it out
I am happy for you. I'm sure that living that life like that feels like being put in a room with no doors, no windows, no nothing.

Absolutely. Clint Mansell's score is brilliant, it's like a character of its own in this movie. Haunting.
I could not sit through this movie without pausing multiple times because i was overwhelmed... too much emotions swelling up.
Her performance here is as Oscar-worthy as (if not more than) hers in ‘A Beautiful Mind’. A tragic beauty bent for total self-destruction, like everyone else in her world.

I saw this movie in school and I was perturbed for days... it also opened my mind to mental illness like Anxiety or Depression... not the wisest decision imo...
the film itself is a masterpiece imo i use to own an original physical copy til... anyways one night I decided to watch with the commentary on I was so glad I did it happens to be packed with creative meaningful symbolism from the lighting, to the all black decor in the therapist bedrooms, and what I found most impacting was the way all the characters wether in an asylum, prison, or a thrashed apt they all end up in the fetal position to the same direction as they proceed to cont to DREAM which is what started it all ...#fullcircle

I kinda wish she didn't do the a to a scene. Obviously her character here is darker, quite a contrast to the happy-go-lucky, innocent and inspiring characters she has played in past films, but I really think she threw her dignity and self respect under the bus in this movie. What happens when her sons stumble across seeing mommy in this flick?
