I am an actor and content creator with Hollywood credits including roles on Lucifer (Netflix), Starlight Christmas (Hallmark), JT Leroy (Universal Studios), etc. In this channel, I offer insight to Kpop performances using my 10+ years of training in dance, acting, singing and overall performance. In dance, my forte are contemporary and musicals and have done most of my performances in theatre. Although my channel is mostly known for dance analysis, I am currently inactive in the dance community.

  • When I saw this mv I actually thought to myself how Ten is actually an ART HERO. He makes fine arts somehow consumable for the masses because he is such a skilled, refined and captivating performer. Nightwalker mv feels like a marriage between fine arts and pop culture. He's like the Da Vinci of K-pop and Nightwalker is his Mona Lisa🔥🤌

Because why am i already imagining an epic and huge MAMA stage for nightwalker the moment i heard the song? like im already imagining that it would be crazy if there are a lot of dancers and he's gonna do some body distortion typa movements (like he did in hit the stage) and then the spotlight will be on him as he cries "hooooooly stooooooory". THAT IMAGE FORMED THE MOMENT I HEARD NIGHTWALKER so it's sooo fun to see that you also thought the same!

  • I watched the Nightwalker Countdown on KZhead that was an hour before the song released, where Ten was in a livestream talking about Nightwalker and the rest of his album before it was all released. And he said that the Nightwalker was a fun character for him to get into while shooting the video, and that he was both nervous and excited for all his fans to see it. He said that the Nightwalker looks like whatever you want it to look like, and you can't do anything to break away from the Nightwalker's spell. He also said that he liked that his version of Nightwalker had no eyebrows and smiled creepily into the camera, he had a lot of fun filming that sort of darker and edgy character. So fun to see your reaction to this, I was anxiously hoping you'd see it soon. Totally agree with the fact that Ten can effortlessly make movements both fluid and unique to his own style as well. ❤

  • Ten initially wanted to shave his head and asked his fans if he should do it. Then, Ten asked his hair stylist again if he should shave his head. Both his fans and the hair stylist were stressed out by Ten's questions. So, it ended with him having no eyebrows instead. Thank goodness.

  • I think Ten is a very underrated artist and he has not been given the visibility he deserves. He is undoubtedly one of the best k-pop dancers, visual and he has an amazing vocals. I love his mini album and all his artistic approach. He is just insane...just saying. 💜💜

In his intro to the album interview he said he wanted his choreography not to be full focused on him alone but you have to look at the other dancers to see the bigger picture.   • Loved the reaction The nightwalker black outfit is a muggler dress not ysl. He did have say in style, fashion etc. In making film he did wish to shave off his hair (maybe wanting to give that new look to nightwalker) but my guess the staff ofcourse disagreed.. it SM . So he went with eyebrows off look. Do check his album and performance film, track video. Its brilliant no skip and very ten. He did give choreography ideas in nightwalker and water.❤

    • This! I love how Jeff always helps me put words on what I think and feel when watching choreographies and listening to the tracks! Especially since Jeff has a lot of focus on the emotional and artistic aspects of it, which some of the more technical music producer-type reactors don't really comment on.

  • Thank you for a great reaction as always! I'm basically on the same level as you when it comes to Ten and Nightwalker. I love that he got to do something that feels so TEN! Still, I'm slightly worried that it's too dense and quirky for the general audience, but I hope I'm wrong and that he picks up a ton of new fans, as he deserves to. Fingers crossed that we'll get a really cool performance video sooner rather than later! And since SM have done performance videos for most of their releases this year, I really think we'll get one, even if it might drop later. Edit: Btw, I also miss SuperM a lot (even though I'm a newer fan who learned about them a little more than a year ago), so I'm with you with feeling nostalgic…

  • i really wanted to know your definition of "commercial", cause for me this term fits songs like Taeyeon's "To X", and SuperM's "We Do", for example. this song, the instrumental and all the melodies are very unique imo 😅 just like all Ten solos

  • Theory: The only thing I thought of was Persona and the "dark hour" probably because the Persona 3 remaster is being remastered now. 3:02 of the original video, It's true... he transforms after midnight and is always the target of remarks, insults and persecution, which made him create the controlling personification in his mind. He rocks a look without eyebrows, really beautiful monster. The song is so good too, the instrumental is a bit of a trip! He's an incredible dancer, we all know that, but the choreography highlights his skills and also the plot. Cashews really intrigued me. As a Brazilian, where cashews and chestnuts originate, I know that, before being transformed into chestnuts, they are poisonous and acidic and burn the skin and their oil was used by natives in rituals making tattoos with burns. Maybe that gives the meaning of him not having eyebrows and his dances being part of the Endijena tribe. I could be totally wrong. THANKS .

    • lie with you track video and performance film - i checked out a bit of each. now that i checked out the album, they were perfect for bsides and much more nuanced in full. they’re quite commercial sounding so i thought the title might go that route- but i ended up loving the attack (for bsides). i pretty much liked all the songs on the album except lie with you 😅 i think ‘On Ten’ could’ve been a title 👍🏽

    • @@JeffAvenue I also bounced off 'Lie With You' at first (mostly because I didn't enjoy the track video), but when I listened to it on the album, I fell in love with it and think it's the strongest song together with 'Nightwalker'. It's definitely a "grower". 😌
