There's a massive difference between a lackluster, low effort and uninspired game, and an innovative, passionate and beautifully crafted one. There's evidently a lack of clarity and vision in pokemon at the moment, and being honest and critical upon their stagnant, and frankly at this point, gimmicked gameplay is something I'd consider the opposite of close minded. The close minded ones are the fans who won't admit fault, and constantly shun valid criticism. Nintendo used to be pioneers of creativity, but nowadays they seem to be becoming more and more decadent.

@@raenastra I agree, Zelda has kept their core philosophy at heart, with great variations in gameplay and design, but Pokemon seems to have stagnated. What is sad is that people feel the need to defend a multi million dollar company like their laziness and lack of vision is something to venerate. The worst thing to do would be to allow them to set a precedent, the result would be something akin to EAs micro transactions and yearly Fifa/NBL sports games.

No it won’t. There’s no gyms, no strive to become the best. I don’t care about catching all the Pokemon, I care about defeating powerful trainers with my Pokemon and rising to the very top. VERY disappointed 😞.

Honestly, same. The artstyle of the Gen 4 remakes has grown on me, but I want to see what changes they’ll bring to the table. Will the Platinum Pokédex be used? Will more fire-types be added to the Dex? How will we be able to get the Regis without their events (possible return of the Galarian Regis)? Will Cynthia and Cyrus get an upgrade in character development? Will a Gen 4 mythical be available post-game? And will Megas and Primals possibly make their long awaited comeback (seen in Gen 7, but not as relevant as Gen 6)?

Honestly I'd rather the Diamond and Pearl remakes come out in late 2022 or 2023 if it meant that the game had a new perspective (in terms of the camera) and didn't look like a higher resoulution 3DS game. Pokemon Legends Arceus looks great though

Ok, graphical decisions apart, since the style decision is really something down to personal taste, was any content cut from the remakes? It's based of DP, I get it, but are we getting any of the additional events and post game contents Pt had?? Are we finally getting the cut Arceus in-game event? Or is this just a copy paste DP with different graphics? The first three remakes were all groundbreaking, pushing forward the franchise. Not only they added current mechanics to the revisited games, advanced their region lore and added new events and post-game, they brought new stuff to the series as a whole. Can we hope for that or should we be worried if anything was actually removed? If we're getting even less than we got with Pt?

I really hope things were added because otherwise as someone who owns diamond pearl and platinum, what is the point of me buying this game? I prefer the 2D sprites to 3D models. The game will probably cost £50 and probably pay £25 on top for the battle area and all that stuff. I really hope the distortion world is in at some point. I get probably not during the climax as its dialga or palkia but post game go into that cave giratina is in and just add a portal to the distortion world would be cool.

Although partially impossible, I hope they will change the graphics / style of the diamond and pearl remakes by taking inspiration from titles such as X and Y or Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire obviously adapting them to the graphic potential of the Switch. With this remake it seems that ILCA (always talking about graphics) has focused exclusively on the new generations who have not had the opportunity to play the title, not thinking about the large segment of the public (now grow up) fond of this incredible game. Honestly I was very disappointed in this respect and even if it may seem childish and superficial this "Animal Crossing graphics" does not go down well, so much so that I have decided not to buy the game. If I want to relive this fantastic and nostalgic adventure I will return to play the original at the cost of buying it for € 100 and then try my hand, as soon as I have the opportunity, in the possible prequel "Pokémon Legends" which seems to be a very promising title despite the obvious inspiration to the landscape of Zelda BOTW

I’m not feeling the “art direction” of the remakes, the character models look like they were made for Pokémon Rumble. I think it’s a step back from even the 3DS titles and that’s disappointing to see on the Switch. I’m sure they’ll have some cool new feature but the visuals are off-putting to me.

I loved this direct, and the chibi style is actually kinda nice for the remakes. The chibi style looks too small for dynamax, so either no gimmick, which is fine, or mega's might be coming back. Honestly though, I'm more hyped for Legends. It's SO CLEAN. I'm actually proud of gamefreak for once. Great job, gamefreak.

There's a massive difference between a lackluster, low effort and uninspired game, and an innovative, passionate and beautifully crafted one. There's evidently a lack of clarity and vision in pokemon at the moment, and being honest and critical upon their stagnant, and frankly at this point, gimmicked gameplay is something I'd consider the opposite of close minded. The close minded ones are the fans who won't admit fault, and constantly shun valid criticism. Nintendo used to be pioneers of creativity, but nowadays they seem to be becoming more and more decadent.

The art style kinda reminded me of Links Awakening Switch which is fine by me because I enjoyed that game style it went for. Also the more you see it the more it will slowly grow to you.
The remakes look faithful so Im glad that they at least arent dumbing anything down, but im still not sold on the chibi artstyle. I am also interested in the Legends game.
It looks like in the origional, it might not be your thing but it is the best way to stay true to the origional one without going to 2D
I honestly can get used to it as long as the story is faithful (I.e not dumbing down) and the Pokedex is fully there.

Ok, graphical decisions apart, since the style decision is really something down to personal taste, was any content cut from the remakes? It's based of DP, I get it, but are we getting any of the additional events and post game contents Pt had?? Are we finally getting the cut Arceus in-game event? Or is this just a copy paste DP with different graphics? The first three remakes were all groundbreaking, pushing forward the franchise. Not only they added current mechanics to the revisited games, advanced their region lore and added new events and post-game, they brought new stuff to the series as a whole. Can we hope for that or should we be worried if anything was actually removed? If we're getting even less than we got with Pt?
I really hope things were added because otherwise as someone who owns diamond pearl and platinum, what is the point of me buying this game? I prefer the 2D sprites to 3D models. The game will probably cost £50 and probably pay £25 on top for the battle area and all that stuff. I really hope the distortion world is in at some point. I get probably not during the climax as its dialga or palkia but post game go into that cave giratina is in and just add a portal to the distortion world would be cool.

Although partially impossible, I hope they will change the graphics / style of the diamond and pearl remakes by taking inspiration from titles such as X and Y or Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire obviously adapting them to the graphic potential of the Switch. With this remake it seems that ILCA (always talking about graphics) has focused exclusively on the new generations who have not had the opportunity to play the title, not thinking about the large segment of the public (now grow up) fond of this incredible game. Honestly I was very disappointed in this respect and even if it may seem childish and superficial this "Animal Crossing graphics" does not go down well, so much so that I have decided not to buy the game. If I want to relive this fantastic and nostalgic adventure I will return to play the original at the cost of buying it for € 100 and then try my hand, as soon as I have the opportunity, in the possible prequel "Pokémon Legends" which seems to be a very promising title despite the obvious inspiration to the landscape of Zelda BOTW

I’m not feeling the “art direction” of the remakes, the character models look like they were made for Pokémon Rumble. I think it’s a step back from even the 3DS titles and that’s disappointing to see on the Switch. I’m sure they’ll have some cool new feature but the visuals are off-putting to me.
@Wyatt Clear well we got what we wanted, in super excited for pokemon arceus, but the artwork for pokemon dp remakes are really underwhelming

@Wyatt Clear it's not a matter of "hating" on the remakes that many people have wanted. Why couldn't they make them look similar to Sword & Shield? The overworld sprites just look strange. It just looks like a strange Zelda game
"Brilliant Diamond" and "Shining Pearl" looks like god damn RWBY CHIBI. The originals are way more worth my time then these pathetic remakes.

I loved this direct, and the chibi style is actually kinda nice for the remakes. The chibi style looks too small for dynamax, so either no gimmick, which is fine, or mega's might be coming back. Honestly though, I'm more hyped for Legends. It's SO CLEAN. I'm actually proud of gamefreak for once. Great job, gamefreak.
Graphicwise, Legends is awful. Unpolished models, poorly animated, 10 FPS sprites...

ngl this is not really a remake. This is literally just a remaster. I'm not a big fan of the art style and how they made everyone fat, but that's personal preference.

True. I love SW/SH. But the gameplay of Legends + graphic of New Snap should have been SW/SH, but maybe the switch isnt powerful enough for this.
