Which Bike: BMX, Track or MTB will be the fastest in a man to man Sprint Battle on different distances?
That question is what we: Jeffrey Hoogland, Justin Kimmann and Jeroen van Eck asked ourselves as well. So we came together on the abandon airstrip in Soesterberg, big thanks to them for giving us permission and letting us film this footage.
Action guaranteed with huge power numbers and great battles till the last centimeters.
Enjoy & let us know in the comments below what you think!
Cheers,
Justin, Jeffrey & Jeroen

Who’s gonna win this Sprint Race? BMX, MTB or TRACK? 🏆 Guess it in the comments below! ⬇️
Box or track is going to win because they are light bikes but mountain bikes have gears
I meant b m x not box
Probably bmx or mtb because if it is rainy and bad conditions the mtb bike will have better grip but the 2 other bikes are lighter
Als die bovenbenen van Jeffrey eenmaal op gang zijn... 😂
Do you know the top speed?
This is like asking a horse, a dog, and bear to swim race
This would be interesting
Well duh!
Yeaaaa, but still, it was fun 😃

I would definitely watch that
Its always nice to see adults acting like kids and having fun. To many of us lose these types of hobbies, having a job and buying a house isn't everything you also need some playtime.
Your boss doesn't approve of it so he makes your job tougher than usual when he discovered your funtime
True man.. People loose their way of life
I'm grateful to say I never lost my way of life since my youth... I had to put it on pause while I served in the 25th Infantry. I damn near lived in the jungle, so I had no choice. But my first purchase when I got home was a BMX bike... I just turned 50 this month and I still BMX, MTB, and road cycle. I pulled my skateboard out and skated with my kids lastnight. My girls are stoked they have a dad they can do all kinds of things with. They have friends who wish they did... It is sad that some people have to stop doing things like that cause life gets in the way. I had to learn to shuffle things if I still wanted to do all the things I've always loved to do. I'm very grateful for that.
@@johnnyboy3357 I agree... My boss is a personal friend and he sometimes disagrees with my extracurricular activities. I've been out of work a couple of times due to injuries for up to 3 weeks. I actually just got back to work this past Monday after recovering from an injury for the second time in a year. I'm 50 so the healing process takes a little longer now. Haha! Pretty sure I'll be on the layoff list the next time it comes around. I'm cool with that! Haha!
@@adrianfumi you don't how inspirational this is to me.. I'm saving money to buy a MTB too.. Can't let the human spirit die out
I once saw a group of guys on road bikes while I was street- BMXing on my college campus. I decided to sprint up and ride a manual once I got along side of them. They all smiled and seemed to think it was cool. A few seconds later, a bunch of people standing along side the road were all yelling at me. Turns out there was an organized race going on and I had inadvertently found my way onto the course. Haha
Then everybody clapped

For those who don't know what happened here. The track sprinter had only one gear too heavy
he’ll have best top speed but worse acceleration
And his weight also, he was the heaviest from the 3
@@teun294 Sprinters do need a lot of muscle
@@teun294 that is muscle mass...because his bicycle is very heavy to cycle...sorry for bad english
Track bile need momentum to accelerate. You can’t sprint immediately
This is what english sounds to non-english speakers.
@Giuliano Skywalker good for u👍
What's your point ?
Was having trouble tryna understand them, then I realized they weren't speaking english. Lol
Me too 😅
English is actually pretty easy dude
Fun Fact: The Cameraman was the fastest XD
I believe he was on an e-bike, and he had a head start because he was already pedaling, he could have won easy of course but he can't padal hard since he was holding the camera to avoid shaking too much lol
He was def on an e-Bike. I could’ve beat them all on my motorcycle 😂
I'm selling my track bike and getting a BMX. Idk what ratio he was pushing but that performance is wack.
@@paulmarte5560 you should get an e-bike instead... proven fastest them all 3 in the video.

Race starts at 5:43 8:06 9:10
Skipping to those parts instantly will take away at least 50% from the whole fun of the video. Why are you people so much in a hurry not to have time to calmly watch an 11-minute fun video? Is it because you don't want to miss anything in life, you want to grab everything, but then at the end of the day you realise that you swallowed the food without tasting it?

Just imagine if he ate taco bell the day before.
Yeah! cause bmx have smaller crank arms that why it rotates so fast.

Thank you
This is the most wholesome and awesome video that ive ever seen, you can definitely see how happy they were on what they doing
Thanks!
I think more than anything this video proved that the BMX riders power output is phenomenal. He shouldn't have won anything past 50mts but destroyed them on 16inch wheels! Amazing!
20inches
Amazing performance on the BMX. I can imagine seeing this bro fly past some road cyclists in total disbelief just for LOLs.
But he wouldnt be able to keep up though
Lol he’ll prolly keep up on that speed just under a minute then he’ll get left behind lmao
He can only go that fast in a few seconds and that's it. He'll be left behind after that surge.
That's my life's goal
I do this some times here on rio de janeiro with my BXR (touring bmx).
Need a part two where each athlete gets to choose their single speed gear ratio per event.
Yep. Track would probably win 75m and above if he could swap gearing.
Difference over 100m between gear ratio 39x20 down to 39x12 (still a long way off 62x16) is in the range of 0,6 seconds according to Kyle/Mastropaolo. With gearing along the way there's still an advantage over 125m possible in the same range. Again Kyle with his invention called The Browning Automatic Transmission. But technical progress especially concerning off-road bikes since then really expanded. Track cycling is much more about aerodynamics and in sprint about power, but Eddy Merckx would up to a few kilometers lose from real teenage girls, that is with of cause their current track bikes. it's not, that the world since then has seen a huge shift of power towards girls and women.🤣
just swap the bmx with folding. track bike with road bike. all 3 has multispeed
53t:13 ratio is about the sweet spot for a 200m sprint on bmx 20x2.10
If Jeffrey raced with normal road bike he would probably win all races.
I really enjoyed this and was surprised at the amazing cadence of the BMX guy. Some follow up videos where they can change the bikes and rude each other's bikes would be great. Cheers!
The bmx-er is pedaling for his life, haha ! Impressive how fast the road racer is at the end. Make a video "mtb vs bmx" on a flow trail.
Track, not road! :)
The track bike was in such a high gear. I'd have opted for a medium chain ring and made up for it witb high cadence. I used to ride a very similar bike, with the only difference being it was a roadie with 6 gears. I messed with my gearing on that bike as my front derailer went bad.... My top speed I got while drafting at around 45 mph at an almost stupid cadence, however I beat every BMX rider Ik in acceleration
the track cyclist would smash all of them if his chainring was smaller, his chainring is so big that it takes 150m to pedal at a normal cadence
Yeah that's same thing with my road bike too I have a big 58t chainring on the front with 11t cassette in the back and on that gear it's so slow at acceleration but once I put into a much lower gear it accelerates really quickly because I converted it to only 9 speed because of upgrading from a 50t to 58t its a 2021 Giant contend 3 so the back sprockets are 11t up to a 32t in the back so if you put it in like a way lower gear and still be on the 58t chainring it flies in acceleration I got it up to 31 mph on a flat road in 56 degrees weather and a little windy so I'm gonna try when it gets way warmer out to raise that top speed to 35 to 40 mph on a flat road
My Race Bmx has 39t sprocket in the front and 9t cassette in the back and on the same day went 30.5 mph on a flat but in way better and warmer weather conditions with that gearing with strong enough legs it should be able to do 35 to 37 mph on a flat but I gotta build my legs up to that
For your info: on Monday the 7th December 17;00 CET there will be an extra video published on my channel with the on board footage including all power data, speed and other info!

DAMN! Looking at the Track bike guy is so much pain! He is much faster but he can't make it at time!
The fastest longevity runs will always go to the road/track type of bike but it can't do much but just ride on a clean paved road, the mountain bike is great for literally anything and it can take jumps and it has a good speed for longevity too, and the BMX has a killer short run speed and is easier to do tricks and can take jumps too. But overall I prefer a mountain bike all day everyday, even for days when I keep it simple on paved roads.
Hey I am MTB rider too have you done BRM on your mtb. I am curious if I could do it
Conclusion: MTB has the best if both worlds

jajajaja x3
1. BMX 2. Mountain Bike 3. Road Bike Just to give an example, the highest gear is the hardest to accelerate or pedal, so credits for the hard work to the Road Biker.
Let’s gooo mountain bike very good video now I want a BMx
Take to all riders the same ratio on the bike, it will be a lot more equal 😂 #Track4Win
Bmx will say, same size rims
@@yutubnyasigit No problem, not same power and time to keep it up ;)
I tried it already, same gear inches but with different teeth combination, the smaller chainring is lighter excluding consideration of rim size, example like 38/14 and 52/19 the lower teeth is lighter even though they're the same 2.7 ratio, affecting power output is a huge factor in a sprint depending on the rider strength to turn a chainring size ratio
Its funny, the BMX is basically a track bike. just setup for a very specific track type!
So much fun, this is why I love cycling
