When I learned that Montreal has the world's largest rooftop greenhouse, I decided that it was time to pay a visit. Lucky for me I found out that it's not just the size of the greenhouse that is cool, but there's some incredible stuff happening inside as well. And you are all coming along as well... Let's go!
Hey Lufa Farms, thanks for letting me visit your GIANT greenhouse!

"We would only need to convert the rooftops of 19 average-sized shopping centers to grow enough veggies for all of Montreal. " I didn't know they had the largest rooftop greenhouse 😄 Wow 💗🔥 I imagine enough rooftop or large-scale greenhouses in Montéal to feed the whole city. These systems extending into the whole province too. It's been a long-time vision for these places. Thanks for shining a light on what's up here!
This work should get more attention, love its concept, this will be a game changer for solving food crisis if it gets adapted everywhere in the world. And I had no idea it even existed. Thanks for bringing this to my attention
Buying my groceries with them every week, love what they’re doing, viva mtl.🦖
Good one Dan! Would love to see some more of the unusual businesses or projects going in and around Montreal or across Canada! That'd be awesome!
Imagine one of those in every city would solve food issues Lufa is the future amazing video thanx TNT
*Hope you enjoyed that one, it was a lot of fun to make! Does anyone know any other super unique spaces I should visit?* 👀

You are hilarious 😂, "this is KZhead, not netflix" , " you are giving jobs to bees"
Important innovations and a fun video. As much as I’m sure you’re eager to get out and travel internationally again, I really appreciate how you’re highlighting special and lesser-known nuggets about Montreal (selfishly I’m grateful because Montreal is my favorite city and I always want more MTL content). Cheers!
Excellent produce for sure; I've been a customer for almost 2 years. Love to support businesses like this.
I hope they build on top of all the superstores in Canada! That'll be awesome to buy food right below where it was grown!
That'd be really cool
Wow love the roof top farm so amazing.
Amazing green house!
Love lufa farms ❤️ I highly recommend getting your food from there
Amazing !!!! Great job!!!
Congrats for the good video subject and for the great project it is !!!
Merci :)
Bravo 👏
Great video and an amazing place.
Amazing facility! Omg I hope they’re able to pop up on many more rooftops! 🐢
Very interesting video. Would love to see what Lufa Farms looks like in the dead of winter.Thanks.

If Canada could be any greater , great people great place love it
There’s another rooftop greenhouse like that in Laval-thought it was the largest but thus one must be bigger
This one just opened last year :)
The Laval greenhouse is also a Lufa greenhouse. It was the largest until this location was built.
That was very cool!! And I DO think it is a very plausible idea for the future. As our world population continues to explode, there WILL be less and less space to grow food.
🐢Really proud to be able to say we have the World's Largest Rooftop Greenhouse. But hopefully they dont hold that record for too too long! :)
This is great. Fresh food delivered to your door, reduces gas and don't have to worry about droughts or e coli or listeria
I am from India, may I please know the location
This is a far cry from your video on an "All you can eat beef" restaurant in Brasil. Good work, I will share, now if only people could eat less meat.
Stretching the boundaries of where certain foods can be grown is 100% where we need to head. Look up Tropiterranean crowd farming
Totally agree, Sam. The future can be scary... but with all the new ideas evolving it can also be very exciting 🙌
It's very impressive, I've visited their first rooftop farm, too and have been a customer with them for a while. Even though we actually order more from their partners. Btw, if you live in Quebec and like this type of thing, consider opening an RRSP with the Fonds de solidarité FTQ. Gets you a higher RRSP credit (from QC) too and if I remember correctly, they invested in Lufa.
but is it profitable? what are the costs?
👍👏👏👏👏

Could someone please please help me choose between Calgary or montreal? ( note: i am trilingual )
To make it very simple for you I would say... If you want a modern city near the mountains go with Calgary. If you want an older city that has more people and more activities go with Montreal.
And watch all of Dan’s videos about Montreal
@@TheNewTravel but the thing about Calgary is besides the downtown it looks Deserted? Isn't it?
@@adrianm111 been doing it 4 a while

What's happening over there?
Do you guys think Dubai is angry that they don't have the biggest rooftop greenhouse in the world! 😂
