Ninja Gaiden Black - Nicchae, Ishtaros, and Marbus Boss Fights (Very Hard Mode)
Well 2 of the boss fights were pretty good..
Ishtaros is normally really tough but the consistent openings make her less frustrating to me. I also feel like I usually messed up my timing when I get hit as opposed to Alma Awakened where the entire fight just feels random. I'll try to get a better fight against her later, she goes down pretty quickly to Gleaming Blades if you get lucky with her just swinging around.
Nicchae is fairly easy (on Very Hard.. not so much on MN. I found her to be the hardest one of the 3 on MN, Ishtaros is basically the same.) and the arena is actually helpful rather than deadly like the one in the Alma fight.. You can use Wall Run to avoid her projectiles or catch her with Flying Swallow when she's too high to hit normally. That area of effect grab is a bit ridiculous but manageable here since she's on her own. Marbus is actually a bit annoying and really random, he shouldn't be that hard but he's really tanky and can be a problem if you ran out of items.. Like I did at the end.
The one thing that really bothers me about this game is you attack some bosses during their "openings" and get instantly grabbed instead..
Really wish Team Ninja would make a new Ninja gaiden with all the love,inspiration and energy they put in this game

Nioh carries over a lot of mechanics from Ninja Gaiden. A lot of the weapon's movesets are ripped straight from NG but that seems to have went by many people. Play Nioh like you are playing Ninja Gaiden and it makes a lot of sense.
@@natixeboom except the mobility... what made ninja gaiden so great was how you could use the wall running/ wall jumping and dashes as tactic during combat
They really can’t. Even Ninja Gaiden 2 made by the same team and director was not nearly as good. I think this was actually a fluke. The sequels are still good games but this thing holds up 20 years later.

Yeah Ishtaros is really tough, but at least she doesn't just dodge everything.. I'd fight her over awakened Alma any day. :P

Ninja Gaiden has some amazing shit i would pay to get in NG2 and 3 The unlabored flawlessness is one of them

How to beat the last 6 bosses: Alma 1+2/ Nicchae. Near constant jump rolls, flying swallow is your best friend. All super weak to BoTT/ wall attacks, but because you never fight Alma with a wall advantage, Nicchae is the only one you should do this on. Combo during staggered: Blade of Nirrti/ Dragons Tail. Shouldn't need items for Nicchae Ishtaros: Harrass between combos. Charge UT's when she's in the air, flying swallow will counter her OP laser. Burn your talismans here if you need to. Marbus: He's basic AF. Dodge all the things, when he dives/ ground pounds; be sure to attack from 'his' right side. He grabs with is right arm covering the front and left. Use UT's defensively/ guaranteed strikes only. Vigoor Emporer: Ninpo and movement, a little swish swish here, a little stab stab there. It couldn't get any more basic. Phase 2: All the arrows and incendary you can muster when it's in lava. Ninpo when it's 'skull swarm' appears overwhelming to also avoid getting grabbed by the main skull. When it jumps onto the platform, run underneath and ninpo. Murai: Basic attacks and flying swallow, dodge his obvious attacks and shuriken. Ninpo to avoid the black dragon summon. Thats it You beat the game

Best video game ever made. Only complaint is that you realize the defensive roll was a little clunky and vulnerable after the improved dash in NG2 by comparison.
bozworthy I thought Black’s dodge toll was better. I didn’t get clipped often when using it, compared to the slide in NG2.

Dark souls doesn't even come close, that game is easy too, just get a cheesy build and GG you win. Ninja gaiden is all skill lol
@@darkpromeathean937 lol ikr. That and knowing the trick to each boss. In gaiden knowing the trick still isn't good enough. Gaiden is way more demanding than that gothic themed snore of a game.
Right? The only souls game that even had to potential to be hard was demon souls, the rest of the series is easy... majority of the bosses are slow and have a pattern. Gaiden bosses also have a pattern but it requires good reflexes and reaction time to dodge, if you're lacking in either time to say goodnight LOL 🌃🌉
@@darkpromeathean937 attack patterns randomly shift in souls and gaiden. But unlike souls gaiden demands that you are prepared to counter and dodge a lot more and with much less reaction time. Plus you dont get stun locked or die to crappy hit boxes and lack of basic mechanics like clamber. In gaiden if you die it was 100% your fault. With souls you get knocked off a ledge because of some cheap ambush from an offscreen enemy. Or stunlocked even while trying to recover on the ground with no way to guard. Souls is more RNG with enemy attack patterns but the lack of basic mechanics and piss poor control responses is what actually makes the game challenging. Souls games are not hard because they was intentionally made hard. They are hard because of bad programming and design. Gaiden is one of the best action RPG games made as to where, from software is litteraly the perfect example of how not to make an action RPG. The fans beat they're chests like the devolved apes they are acting like people who dont like those games just cant beat them, when they cant grasp that not able to beat them and not wanting to isn't the same thing. I beat souls 1 when I was 10, because I grew up poor so game variety was limited. Looking back that was several hours of my life I'm not getting back. I really miss difficult games that are made with love but we aren't going to see many because passionate game devs are a dying breed

If you play eternal legend you can fight them. In the story mode they only show up on very hard and master ninja

I can beat her on MNM I just thinks she's the hardest. People used to complain about Alma so much but I always thought Ishtaros was worse.

Awakened Alma is the least consistent boss on the higher difficulties and I find that that is what makes her the most difficult boss. Ishtaros is the most consistent after Murai so after you know the patterns they aren't that difficult.
Okay yeah I agree Awakened Alma is the hardest I was kinda trippin lol I'd forgotten how annoying she could be. Some of her shit just doesn't make sense. At least Ishtaros has a consistent way to be fought. Awakened Alma can do what she wants.
hey but they take away too many healing items and talismans I have spent in master ninja in another way and do not spend but two or three cures of the small
great video and good fight I own ngb ng2 ng3 there all good games but my favorite one would have to be ninja gaiden black because it has Rachel in it :)

Can anybody tell me how tf you got to fight these bosses and where the hell you get the laser sword. Also BROOOO LOOK AT THE BOSS HEALTH AT 9:55 I didn't realize the damage bonus was that high
You only fight them on Very Hard or Master Ninja.. They also show up in mission mode if you don't feel like replaying the main game. The sword is the Plasma Saber, you get it for collecting 49 Golden Scarabs but it's just a reskin of the True Dragon Sword.

NG remains to this day one of the hardest games ever made in history and one of those which defined my teenage years. I still have the copy I bought in 2004 as a 14-year old.

Hayabusa would beat vergil and Dante, he's immortal and can move at mach 440 at close range.
@DARKPROMEATHEAN Nah my dude, Dante and Vergil can wreck Ryu any day, Vergil can move at light speed and cut out dimensions, ryu can put up a fight, but he will lose no doubt
@@Unknown-yf3vu If anything Dante would give ryu more trouble than vergil would. Plus Ryu defeats planetary threats so ryus winning and vergil has no immortality feats...he loses.
Btw I really don’t see what was so difficult about both the bosses
