  • Just bought a Mandello S. I'm loving this bike, even during break in, it's just so smooth in it's operation. So used to using a clutch 1/2 the time I forget about the QS.

    • Why can't they produce a simple lightweight Monza again? Because there's no money in it. Or rather, there is if you are willing to seriously ramp up production volumes, and Moto Guzzi just doesn't want to adopt that business model.

  • All great looking bikes. I won't be in the market for any of them though. Since I've had my 2022 V7 850 Special, I have realised that this is the bike that will see me out. If you're thinking of buying a Guzzi - just do it. They are just superb, in my experience. I've had the factory screen and some heated grips fitted by the dealer and can regularly go 2-up comfortably for hundreds of miles, fast, and it's not even really designed to do that.

    • Hand made, time tested engineering with fuel injection, modern metallurgy, modern suspension bits, radial tires, excellent brakes, all made in Italy. Almost every other brand assembles thier machines from a mashup of parts sourced worldwide. These are not retro bikes, they are originals. These are truly pure bred modern classics. What do you achieve with your disdain and lack of appreciation?

Amos! No me jodas!

    • As a 6.2 tall guy, I'm always depressed by watching these bikes with a guy on them. They look like mini scooters On their own, all beauties, but like Hollywood actresses; mostly way too short in real 😉 I used to own a 1100 Sport. Only size that was decent for taller boys. Shame. The taller people get, the smaller bikes seem to become, some too ugly to be real Bmw's aside.

    • The reason Moto Guzzi have been hand made for over 100 years in the same factory in Mondelo Italy is from not following your suggestion. Continuously making motorcycles for over 100 years. In bussiness for over 100 years. The only other with a history like that is Harley Davidson. Trouble is Harley's are assembled from a mishmash of parts sourced from around the world (like most brands) Moto Guzzi's are made entirely in Italy. Even the tyres that come on em are made im Italy. If you don't appreciate the genuineness of these machines you are missing out

    • Moto guzzi engines are longitudinal V twins.

      @duboisthierry292@duboisthierry2926 ай бұрын
    • @@duboisthierry292interesting that you refer to them as longitudinal. Think i have heard them described as transverse v twins far more often but when i think about it four wheel vehicles with a v8 and a similar layout would definitely be described as longitudinal while the inline 4 in my honda element or the v6 in my old plymoth mini van were definitely considered transverse. Interesting to me is something i read many years ago in a book i found in the library called the " design and building pf the british sports car". It was a facinating book for me because i was in high-school at the time and wanted to study mechanical engineering. It was chock full of formulas and tables of data that made me appreciate how math could be a very usefull tool in design and there was a lot of useful data that already existed which could tell you for example the ideal intake and exhuast lenth and diameter if you plugged cyinder displacement, compression ratio and rpm into the formula ( don't remember the exact parameters that were included in the formula but ...) Anyways , the book really fascinated me because it at least gave you ball park numbers of where to start if you were fitting a exhuast system. The book mentioned sports car in the title but what they meant was racing cars. It was published in early 60's by two british mechanical engineers. But back to the subject. They claimed that every 90° turn of driveline resulted in a 10% loss of power. So any shaftdrive motorcycle should have that logintuninal layout and most with the exception of Yamaha xs followed that presumption. And chain drive motorcycles are better suited to the transverse layout as are front drive automobiles. My plymoth mini van was awd with a transverse v6 and transfercase for rear wheels was...akward?

      @kimkleiner8456@kimkleiner84563 ай бұрын
    • @@kimkleiner8456 For sure à bevel gear driveline has slightly more power loss than à classic gear train , due to frictions of the theeth and bearings . But I don’t know the exact percentage. You are getting right the difference between longitudinal and transverse engine layout. So many people don’t, including many vehicle testers.
