  • I’m Chinese. Without the ketchup, Albert’s looks closer to what I grew up with. But the ketchup will work cause it reminds me of Japanese rice omelette. I would love to try Nick’s if there wasn’t that egg yolk on top 😂

    • I'm Irish so I have no weight in this game really lol, but my ex used to put ketchup on his fried rice, and I looked at him like he had 10 heads when he did it. But when I tried it, it was actually pretty good. I still don't do it now though, it feels wrong 😂

  • Well... If Albert mix the ketchup and sweet soy sauce while cooking his fried rice it's kind of authentic to some south east asia region. In my country it's normal to have tomato sauce and sweet soy sauce as ingredients.

  • Nick should had put green onions with the garlic and shallot and then topped with more green onion at the end. Saw the burned garlic and shallot early on. Albert's was more of japanese style fried rice (missing an omelette). Both looked good but no to the raw egg yolk 😬

  • Growing up in Hawaii, we eat a lot of fried rice. Ketchup is OK if the rice has at least 1 protein. Ppl sleep on the traditional pan fried rice like Alberts. His is OK to eat with ketchup and it tastes great. Nick's looks good too. I'd probably add some bean sprouts and 2 fried eggs. 👌. Draw. Good match

  • In Thailand, there’s a thing called American Fried Rice, which adds ketchup during the stir fry process. It’s originated when American GI stationed in Thailand and the cooks tried to make the fried rice suited the American taste. Not really a popular dish, but not uncommon either.
