My "Pro" T-90 came with everything metal except for the drive bearings. It was cheaper to get this version than to purchase all the "upgrades" I got. I ordered and installed the drive bearings and it runs great !!!! 🙂
Thanks again for the useful video. I always fit a support bearing to each drive axle. No need to go for the expensive tank bearing housing kits, just use standard bearings, carefully hot glued in the hull. Quite often it is necessary to lightly same or grind the axle to match the inner race diameter of the bearing. There are plenty of YT videos explaining the process.

nice video. how much better is the steel gearbox than the plastic one, and in what ways? worth the upgrade?
Great question, the steel gearbox is better on just about everything. Better performance, gives added weight, and runs smoother. The metal gearbox is also a must have when you swap out the plastic track with the metal ones. When you go with this upgrade the plastic gearbox has more strain and opens up the possibility of extra wear and a shorter life span. The only time you would want to keep the plastic gears is if you are keeping the stock track, but otherwise if you are going to be replacing the track, and putting more mileage and harder mileage on the tank the steel gears are the way to go. Also with the steel gearbox they last almost forever, you will wear out the tracks before you will wear out the gears, and they are pretty much bomb proof. I hope this helps :)
T90/T72 needs a 65mm shaft gearbox with the mid/low combination of gearboxes to fit under the rear engine deck. The high/low gearboxes will NOT fit under the rear engine deck on the T90/T72. I would also make a point of telling people that even if you match up the old motors red with red and black with black, sometimes a manufacturer will solder the motor connections on the motors in the wrong spot (red cable on negative motor post and black cable on positive post). If the motors are running in the wrong direction after the gearbox swap, a brushed motor can be rewired Black to red and red to black with no ill affects to the brushed motor. This process reverses the rotation of the gearbox motor.
yes all of that is true, thanks for the addendum. To add on the terminals being switched, I have done a number of these rebuilds up to this point and I have yet to see this happen, but it is not out of the realm of reality and I can see this happening from time to time. If it does and you don't have access to a soldering iron, you simply unplug and switch the terminals on the motor in question (red to black black to red) This will essentially do the same thing as what was written above. If you do have a soldering iron, then yes simply re solder the wires to the correct terminals.
