Love that joke about the 6s and the magic puff 😂
Great video. I was stressed out and needed to relax. This Helped.
Glad it helped!
Great build video ,but I thought someone had died listening to the music . Was about to send flowers😂
That music...more a crime against music!
Nice :)
Awesome build! Feels like I am at the Tamiya Spa with this music.
VERY nice editing and effects Gavin. Your editorial skills are getting better all the time.
Nice build vid, Gav. I liked the ethereal assembly music, that's my vibe right there! Best of luck to all that enter the raffle!
Man the assembly music was soooo mellow😊
Very cool video! I have always enjoyed your music choices.
F1 racing on TV & Kicks on my phone - Happy Day !
What a nice build. Looks like it was straight forward and no hassle build, I like that. Now to get some raffle tickets!
Can not wait for the next release, the BBX black, followed by the BBX Avante followed by the BBX double blockhead. Tamiya have to recoup the expence if the BBX you know
YES! The best Tamiya release since the 90s. I agree. Glad you finally got around to it.
It’s Tamiya doing what Tamiya did best for sure
Great video! Don't run it to hard! I don't want scratches on it when I win it!
Awesome video and just chilled out watching it after a hard day at work - the background music worked just perfectly! I need a BBX now!
Nice build gav, more please 😄
That is a very relaxing video, love it!
Transmission seems familiar cough, cough stealth...
LOL 🫡
Thanks for the video Gavin. Without you the RC community wouldn’t be so great but I must say I wanted more from this video. The music was relaxing but I would rather hear you talking while building the BBX. I wanted to hear what you thought of it, why it was good or bad plus all the hints & tips I know you always have. This was a big tamiya release & as you said the best from tamiya in a long time, I just wanted to know why you thought that! I don’t want to be negative as your channel got me back into the hobby after many years. Thanks for all you do.
Funny you say that. The reason for the lack of voice overlay was I just ran out of time late last night. I have been out racing all day today so didn’t have this morning to work on it. Most people would rather I talked over the full build and that’s the way I’m going with it.
Gav was too busy playing that lovely chilled out background music on his electronic synth to be able to do the voice over too. 😅
Reminds me of the RC10 stealth diff
Great video mate 👍 nice build 👌
When I have a bad servo, I tie the pigtail into a loose knot, that way I know I need to address the servo and not use it. I’ve come across servos years later that had knots and I fixed them. That’s just an easy way I can identify them without issue. I use $180.00-$230.00 servos for racing, so I will repair them.
Awesome build!
Fantastic Build!
It is a great looking buggy. Nice build!
Thanks! 👍
I need this in my life❤
Nice build, good work 👍
I used to put a lot of stock in Savox being a good brand but these days even the basic JX servos are better, quieter smoother and in most cases more dependable.
Everyone thinks savox servos are good until they use a servo like agf and realise how crap they are. I won’t even talk about the receiver brownouts on a lot of esc.
@@neontetra1000 exactly.
I run an 8.5 Turn in mine. The BBX likes a fast motor!
Liked this one , music reminded me of watching Tony Hart art program as a child , just waiting for Morph to appear on your work bench .
And assembling those dampers is proper shit! Haha
Je fait un retour dans le R/C et le BBX est mon prochain achat. Merci pour le vidéo. Cheers from Canada 😀
More music like that please 😉
Sport tuned has a short shaft. reg silver can or torque tune has a longer shaft to take any ole pinion. -U10
That what it is. 👍🏻👍🏻 In all this time I never noticed that.
Its a nice build, great build video aswell 👍 but i cant believe your not keeping this one 😮
Trickbits YZ10R coming so can't keep anything else for a while.
@@RCKickschannel yeah i know that feeling. They where flying this week, had anothet catch up Alby aswell. He cant believe how well its been recieved. Its a stunning car to see 😎
@@lo2713It did well to take the top spot for them so you can’t ask for more than that. Hopefully that brings in a few more unit sales and he can keep up the development and the more he sells, the lower the kit price can go. Fingers crossed it turns out to be worth all the cash, effort and stress.
@@RCKickschannel it sure will. Once you have it in your hands, you can just feel it 👌
Nice build , anyone fancy doing a Kyosho Optima Turbo Ultima resto? free other than postage plus seeing it back in action .
Love the video. The relaxing music and calming narration did drop my blood pressure and I’m much more soothed, like a spa day. 😆
lol
Nice vid Gav, good build so far. I have to say I spend a lot of time shaving all the tag ends off from cutting parts of the sprue. I found building this buggy to be not an overly pleasant experience. Maybe I was anxious about it, stressed from external factors....I dunno. Oh yeah, cutting out the body was a pain.
Hey Gav, we all knew you were a trained professional in dealing with greasy balls 🙄
100% 🤣
It looks like there’s a lot of potential for weight saving if someone releases an upgrade to get rid of all that plastic rollcage… nice video, I want one even more now!
A titanium cage would be epic but er ££££££
@@RCKickschannel I was thinking along the lines of a carbon job - I don’t know if the cage is particularly structural or the only important bit is bridging the front and rear of the chassis, plus the rear shock tower?🤔
Did you know the shock plyers you used has a tool for inserting & removing the pivot balls instead of using the plyers you used as 15:45 in the timeline?
Nope I didn’t know that
@RCKickschannel In between the arms will be an alloy stepped pin. That's where you place the ball to push it in or out. On the opposite arm, there's a hole. Towards this direction is to insert or remove the ball. Works on arms (depending on the size of the ball as it needs to fit through the hole in the arm) & works for shocks where you insert ball studs which are then screwed onto grub screws. These ball studs have a hex within the top to lock them onto the grub screw (on the lower arms Kyosho Fazer MK2).
gavin, you need savox and hobbywing sponsorships. nice video, well edited with good detail at each step. ps, the 10.5t is a little ambitious for that tble02 though!,
Yep it’s right on the limit but I only plan on a run on tarmac and I just need to test that brushless motor to see if it runs OK. It’s more a make do and mend vs a good setup choice lol.
I found the machine screws and the soft plastic a bad mix. I can see them stripping after a few rebuilds
I see you’ve dug out the meditation CD again for this video. Will it be whale song next? With that a side the buggy looks good 👍
Do you or anyone know when the new Tamiya cars will be released? I’ve been wanting and waiting for the xm01 pro, but nothing yet 😫
UK has it as 7th May
Is it semi trailing rear suspension just like the Frog?!
Yep 👍🏻 The suspension setup for the BBX is really good out the box. The rear works well and looks scale ish. 👍🏻👍🏻
Great build vid but what with the suicide music! 😂 bit depressing!
Some would say it’s relaxing music and some say suicidal music. I think it’s more of a reflection on the persons outlook lol. Really it’s because I ran out of time and couldn’t finish the voice overlays.
That’s gonna be slow, I got 5400kv in mine and it’s good for about 35mph
zzz
I am a real fan of Tamiya, probably as a lot of us are because of nostalgia as much as anything else and I hate to be negative but am I the only one watching this is and thinking this is 2024 and THIS is over 300 quid?
You kind of answered your own point there. We buy Tamiyas for nostalgia, a lovely kit building experience & in this case, the superb vintage buggy look & feel. And we have to pay for the privilege……
Race kits are often a 100 bucks more and don’t come with wheels and tires. The BBX comes with full ball bearings, a ball diff, aluminium shocks, and CVD driveshafts. It costs about the same as Kyosho legendary series and doesn’t pale in comparison. Handles well and seems durable.
I hope I can build mine in 32 minutes! Why are you raffling off and not adding to the collection.
Two reasons unfortunately, 1. I’m getting a YZ10R so need to fund that massive project and 2. I’m running out of space so much.
Sorry gav but this type of content is soooo boring.
One persons boring is another’s mindful & relaxing.
@MrGoat73 like I said.... boring. Bin watching Gav since his 1st studio with 3 cars on the wall, love the builds but not these longed out 1s!
Build videos are a challenge as some people like jump builds just showing finished steps and keeping it shorter, while others love ultra detail and want to see everything. Me personally I like watching faster jump builds and I like more talking by the KZheadr.
@@philipgreensmith1694Like I said, one persons boring is another…… Just messing! I do use the KZhead 1.5X playback for a lot of videos. I bet the BBC don’t get the immediate feedback like KZheadrs do……. 😂
Good to see that you are hand tightening the screws in order not to strip the soft plastic, some rc builders always use power screwdrivers and strip and break the plastic later on. Thumbs up!
