  • I love Kayla’s baking streams but gotta say for someone who cares sooo much about what people think of her, being an internet person must be extremely mentally detrimental. If Kayla ever sees this I just want to say yes making money is important but it’s not worth it sacrificing your own mental health and happiness. It’s internet don’t take haters seriously.

    • I agree. I can’t handle rude comments, so the only social media app I have is KZhead, but I typically consume content and hardly ever comment on videos. It must be a stressful job, I couldn’t imagine the thousands of ruthless comments bombarding content creators with every upload.

    • I agree with you. Sometimes it is really hard watching her getting stressed about all things. She said few times that she has anxiety, I just hope she is talking with someone about that

  • I wished I'd seen this earlier, but at least I get to enjoy listening to this while I'm doing dishes before starting to cook dinner. For the hersheys gold bottle in the advent calendar, it may be Carmel or butterscotch syrup. As for the "heaping cup", I treat that as however high up above the rim of the dry measuring cup I can fill without reasonably having it spill before I can get the ingredient into the mixing bowl. So that depends on how powdery, chunky, or "packable" the ingredient in question is. If I HAD to give it a number, maybe 1 1/8th cups would be a safe guesstimate? As for all the dried fruits, if you're stuck with too much I suppose you could consider chopping it up, adding some fresh hand squeezed orange juice, lots of sugar, throw it into a sauce pan, spilt a vanilla bean in half and scrape out the Vanilla Bean and add it to the sauce pan, blend/stir and then just cook it on the low end of medium heat. for every 2qts of fruit, add at most about 1-2 Tablespoons of Cornstarch and stir until all or most of the lumps are gone. While the fruit cook's, (should simmer not necessarily a rolling boil, if it's doing that reduce the heat on the burner) take an old hand held potato masher (not to be confused with a potato ricer) and smash it while it cooks until the amount of fruit chunks in there is how you like. Then reduce the heat stirring regularly so nothing sticks to the bottom of the pan and burns once you've got a thickness you're happy with and the sauce in the pan is relatively clear or at least not a creamy/cloudy in color then turn it off and allow it to cool. Keep in mind it will thicken a bit as it cools down. Then you have a nice fruit compote that would be good on pancakes or French toast etc. Depending on the fruit you have on hand, if you have any Ground Vietnamese Cinnamon, that's heavenly when you make this compote using Blueberries. I get my Vietnamese Cinnamon and Madagascar Vanilla Beans from Penzeys Spices. Their spice quality is excellent. I'm a total food nerd with a house full of 5 picky eaters, multiple ages here(my youngest daughter introduced me to your channel she's about to graduate highschool now but she's always still my baby no matter how grown up she gets.) So I promise I won't steer you wrong. Lol

  • I just learned that you can make apple pie without using any apples 🤯 it's called Mock Apple Pie. Maybe since you don't like cooked fruit you might like this instead 🤷‍♂️

  • The minced meat pie my dad grew up with has fruit like raisins and stuff and it has spices, but the two key ingredients that are startling are pickled watermelon rind and hamburger meat. and I don't know how to make it but I know it takes forever to make the filling and it pretty much has to be made in advance before you can actually assemble the mini pies. I go back and forth on if I think it's ok or if I thinks it's gross, but I'm really intrigued by this vegan version and I might have to try making it next year.
