Very Attacking Snooker | Ronnie O'Sullivan vs John Higgins | 2019 Champion of Champions - QF

2020 ж. 10 Қыр.

Neal Foulds: "Ronnie has decided to come out and be ultra-aggressive".
O'Sullivan's average shot time was 12 seconds until the third frame (14 seconds the entire match). However, John and Ronnie play offensively and perform beautiful shots, including the best shot of the tournament, quoting Neal: "That pink ball on to that red is one of the best shots I've seen for a very long time" 19:56.
The statistics shown in the video correspond to the date of the match.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The controversial 2010 Higgins meeting: Information for people who had no opportunity to investigate further:
1. Mazher Mahmood, editor of the newspaper and 'gangster' in the video, was known for living performing similar traps (actors and other sports stars). In October 2016, he was jailed for a year for tampering with evidence involving a singer (a victim of his traps).
2. The original video lasted 11 minutes, but they only showed 4 min.
The video has too many cuts, answers without questions and vice versa. Moreover, they didn't keep the dialogue structure despite being professional journalists who own the raw footage. They could have excluded the moments of fear and intimidation; perhaps they brought up the topic of foreign properties, making us believe that the idea was Higgins' initiative.
3. Ian Mill KC* headed a second independent investigation―the first was led by David Douglas, former detective chief at Scotland Yard.―He had access to all original videos and audio tapes (as Douglas had). He textually concluded: "I have no doubt that the Association was right to conclude that this account by Mr Higgins was a truthful one."
His conclusion on Pat Mooney**: "he committed the most egregious betrayals of trust ".
Audiotapes revealed that Pat Mooney was aware of the 'bribery'. He told Higgins they were wealthy sponsors, and just before the meeting, he asked him to play along if the subject of match-fixing came up.
*Ian Mill KC is considered an authority in sports bribery cases in Formula 1, Football Premier League and Tennis ATP, among others. He headed the recent investigation on the ten Chinese snooker players.
**Pat Mooney, Higgins' manager in the video, was a member of the WPBSA board at that time.
- Meeting: Friday, 30 April 2010.
- Publishing: Sunday, 2 May 2010, 'coincidentally' during the final at the Crucible.
- John Higgins at the time: 34 years old, married, two children, World N°1, reigning world champion, famous and millionaire (£5 million only in prize money―£450,000 in 2009).

  • For anyone who hasn’t played snooker on a full-size table, you might think that it’s a fairly easy game. Ronnie makes it look so simple, especially with the speed at which he plays! Snooker, along with golf is possibly the most difficult game to master, it requires the most amazing talent, skill and precision, together with an insane ability to control and position the cue ball(white). Ronnie is a complete genius, he has by far the most century breaks, the most maximum breaks, the most major titles, most ranking titles, plays right or left handed, and has maintained his high standards for almost three decades!

  • You always provided excellent vids...and those little tidbits of information across the bottom of the screen are quite informative...but that burst of music at the end of each vid is a downright pain (Literally) as it is always much louder than the video and is quite uncomfortable to listen too. No a complaint as such....lets just call it some constructive criticism and a suggestion that you leave it off he end off the vids?

  • Did I spot a mistake in the 5th frame at 6.30? Ronny pots a red - 61. Then the black - 67. Should have been 68

    @wozadamada@wozadamada2 жыл бұрын
    • I noticed that too. But then the next shot, he pots a red - calls 68. Then black - she doesn't call it but the count would be 75. Then on the next red she calls 77. This must have been her correction..?

  • Did the referee miscount the black ball at 6:47? Red was 61 and black should have been 68, but she said 67.

  • Miscount by ref at 6:32 . 61 break plus next black should be 68 not 67. Top snooker though.

  • I shit you not, if you wish to see an even more daring and audacious and bodacious Ronnie O'Sullivan, at an even older age, then search for the semi-final match in the World Snooker Championship of this year (2020) against Mark Selby, and watch how he came back from 14-16 down, requiring all the last 3 frames to win 17-16. That was just..... simply.... bloody.... UNREAL! Search : O'Sullivan v Selby SF 2020 World Championship

  • O'sullivan was looking at the average shot time for Higgins and considered that a challenge to his moniker "the rocket" or something? Don't get me wrong its nice when snooker is played well and even fast it just felt like that pace had to have a reason.
