@@felpsp1493 Yeah, dragons existed during Middle Ages, but there's a difference between the dragons they fought and the dragons that embody the concept of perfection. The western dragons were fire-breathers and were vicious and dangerous. Meanwhile, the eastern dragons had a more benevolent nature and controled the elements of storm (water, wind and lightning), being the reason why the Dragon Miraculous is modeled after them and why it is the symbol of justice on the Prodigious.

It's crazy to think that some people may watch the special before catching up with the show, let alone those who don't really watch the show. I myself had started watching Miraculous when season 4 was airing, and I deeply regret not watching it in order when I started getting into the show. I just didn't think I'd watch it all in a heartbeat, considering I wasn't interested in it in the beginning. But I just LOVE Miraculous, and I'm so excited for the new special they announced recently and for season 6!

What made me start watching Miraculous in the first place was the Ladynoir scene that happened at the end of Cat Blanc. I thought it was adorable, and that moment will forever be very important to me because it was that very moment that compelled me to start watching the show that is my all-time favorite cartoon.

Marinette has struggled a lot with anxiety in the recent seasons. Before the events of the show, she had NO confidence because of Chloe’s bullying. The special really focuses on the fact that both Ladybug and Chat Noir have had rough lives, but it was their mindset that made them good.
Keep in mind. Dersion is a retcon. Anything that puts other characters down to lift Marinette up is a retcon.
@@FeligamiAdrizoeSworaBunnydoll Well, it's more or less of a retcon. It had always been established that Marinette was Chloé's primary target for years. You could see in "Origins" how she feared to be at the same class as Chloé and didn't have the courage to stand up to her. All her insecurities and anxieties were all because of Chloé's bullying. And what happened with Kim could also be seen in Marinette's reaction when she met Adrien. The misunderstanding, combined by the fact Adrien was friends with Chloé, made Marinette immediately suspect of him and conclude he was as nasty as she was. The one thing that looks more like a retcon is Marinette's hidden crush on Kim and what happened between them, because we barely see any indication of the trauma up until "Derision".

@@rafaelmatos5851 wasn't the thing that happened with kim also happened because of Chloe? didn't she give him the idea to mess with Marinette? so, the point still stands that all her anxieties from the beginnig started with Chloe but it was the people she met later and her introduction to Tiki that gave her a better perspective of herself and let her confidence in herself grow (although anxiety is always present it shows up in many ways not just how we've been first introduced to it)

The moment I saw Shadybug's design for the first time, I just fell in love with the space buns. They immediately reminded me of Marinette's design when she was Multimouse. The space buns suit her so much!
context: alya knows about marrinette being ladybug, this special also takes part after monarch (gabe) stole all the miraculous by making a deal with felix (adrien’s doppelgänger cousin) who pretended to be adrien and retrieved the dog miraculous from ladybug (marrinette) who doesnt know chat noir is also adrien. Felix then gave monarch (gabe) all the miraculouses (felix worked out who monarch was) by exhanging them for the peacock miraculous. This is why marrinette is being comforted by alya at the start. | phew… 😭|

Felix didn't exchange all the miraculous for the Butterfly, it was the Peacock that he got. He wanted it so that it wouldn't be misused anymore among other reasons. 🦚

honestly I Wouldn't mind a spin off show where they focus on this different dimension and we get to see more of the lore and how the day to day is (at least another special or two even to see how the new resistance is going with the changed super villans joining)
The anime version we see at 34:53 is actually the first version of Miraculous! It was premierred as anime, but it was too difficult to animate Ladybug Suit, so they went with the 3D version we see now a days

The answer to most of your questions in the original universe is that this is set in season 5, and you've mainly been watching seasons 1-2, and so a lot of stuff has changed. And I mean a lot.
do not forget that only "True Fans" that have watch the full 5 seasons, know how much time really pass in that universe.
"This is my favorite thing i watched from miraculous". No kidding. We all think the same. It's without doubt the one of the best miraculous products out there (with the movie), and it set the level very high for the upcoming seasons
At this point in the timeline, Alya does know that Marinette is ladybug because Marinette told her.

This was 100% my favorite Miraculous special! I genuinely loved the alternate versions of the characters. Genuinely hope the creators do more with them and their world, because I’d love to see more!
When Claw Noir got Cataclysmed by Cat Noir, he most definitely was affected. You can see the damage on his suit. However, the superhero suit is able to protect the Miraculos holder from most damages. Even if it can't protect him fully against the Cataclysm, it can prevent the body from being immediately destroyed by it. Well, unless the Cataclysm is powered-up by akumatization like how it happened in "Cat Blanc"...
the suits will only slow it down like what is happening with you know who.
@@supercloudreed The suit prevents the holder from being immediately turned to dust by the Cataclysm. That's why I said it can't fully protect them against Cataclysm. Of course it doesn't stop it from advancing afterwards. That's the all point of season 5 with Gabriel.
Akumas and kamikos are the same thing. Either being used for good or evil, the power of the Butterfly Miraculous is the same. The name is the one thing that changes. When used for evil (like Hawk Moth), the power is called Akumatization and uses akumas (which means "demon") which are attracted by negative emotions and turn people into supervillains. But when used for good (like Betterfly), the power is called Kamikotization and uses kamikos (which means "child of god") which are attracted by positive emotions/intentions and turn people into superheroes.
I also love the change in Betterfly's little speech, like "do you accept this for the greater good" ❤️
Personally this was my favorite episode of Miraculous! Between the amazing parallel universe dynamic, the random lore drops, and the angst it was beautiful!
Butterfly/good Gabriel was the best character in this special hands down. I could watch a whole series about him.

I honestly would recommend and love to see more episodes with Luka in them. (Luka is the guy who said „I never knew my father“ under the bridge and called the crocodile dad btw) Good Luka episode‘s I‘d recommend are „Silencer“ from season 3 episode 7, „Desperada“ from season 3 episode 11, „Truth“ from season 4 episode 1 and „Wishmaker“ from season 4 episode 18.

Luka is the only character with common sense in this show- who doesn't love him!
If you remember the Origins two-parter, Marinette used to be a constant target of Chloé's bullying. You haven't seen it, but Chloé's bullying on Marinette was very, very heavy... it was so heavy that Chloé would make sure Marinette wouldn't have any friend at school, even if they wanted to befriend her. But everything changed when Marinette met Alya who motivated her to stand up against Chloé and then became Ladybug. Shadybug didn't befriend Alya, so she continued to be constantly bullied by Chloé and have no friends, making her a perfect target for the Supreme to manipulate.
It’s really goes to show that Matthew needs to watch the whole series in order. It just hurts seeing him ask questions that have been answered by this point of the episodes release. I get it’s the point to watch these episodes randomly, but it still hurts to watch! 😂
I love that about it tho, it's so fun to watch him try to figure out the madness! 😅

Marinette frequently talks about Ladybug in 3rd person - it's partially out of caution, but she doesn't really hold back in what she tells Alya when they're alone - it's more because she views herself as 2 different people - she is more confident and capable in the suit and she doesn't view herself that way
My expectations weren't high for the special but damn these were way better than I ever could have imagined.

oh my boy Adrien has a tragic backstory his mother losing life slowly in front of him until she died His father who doesn't have time to talk to him and worse is the villian his love who is his only emotional support rejects him he is made to do modeling and other stuff so he doesn't have time for himself and wants to live normally like everyone else his only friend in childhood was chloe (the biggest tragedy ) but he still manages to keep it to himself and is nice to everyone (I love him ahhhh)

For Context, this episode takes place inbetween episodes 3 and 4 of the latest season, named Destruction and Jubilation. You have to watch the latest season up to episode 3 to fully understand this special. Alya knew that Marinette was Ladybug since like Season 3 or 4 when Marinette told her.
It definitely wasn't season 3 since I watched all.of season three and then ragequit watching the series because the season 3 finale destroyed Chloé redemption arc. So it must have been in season 4.

Bro I think if you watched more of the episodes, you might like Cat Noir even better. He is very sweet like he was when he was encouraging Ladybug when she was panicking. Also you are missing out on some DEEP lore.

btw it was an anime first but adriens name was felix (like his cousin), and i kinda liked that style better + the story of shadybug more than the original, and shadybugs hair is so much cuter lol

You should watch Kwami buster for more context on the miraculous jewels themselves and how fusing them works! Also the season 4 finally for context on this episode!!! The s5 finale also explains a bunch of things that happened on this episode!!
Not only the best of the specials, but it’s probably in the top 10 of all the episodes ever produced. The story was very compelling as was the quality of the animation. Here’s hoping that season 6 continues this theme
If Betterfly is a good guy in Shadybug and Claw Noir…why not ask his identity so they could take out Monarch? They just helped him with his problem without even being asked. And if he’s so fond of the world they live in, he’d more than likely answer. But even if he didn’t, they didn’t even try. And they were convinced he was Monarch for a good portion of the beginning, so they can’t even say “it’s clearly not AU monarch” Aside from the gapping plot hole, its was a fun episode

I like how Risk, Strike Back, Evolution, Multiplication (at least the first part), Destruction, and the Shadybug special happened on the same exact day. They must be exhausted lol.
My ranking for all three specials as of now. 1. Miraculous Tales Paris (This one, it is the best of the three) 2. Miraculous Tales Shanghai (The second one, kind of in the middle for me, not too bad, but not as good as the third) 3. Miraculous Tales New York (The first one, and the worst of the bunch in my opinion, having a bunch of heroes instead of just two kind of made it confusing)
New York for me was poorly written like they deleted the best scenes

Unlike the show, the specials always have a lot less restrictions surrounding them, so the creator and his team always end up having more liberty to do more for the story in the specials.

I HIGHLY recommend the episode "Derision" if you wanna see Marienettes backstory from the years before. ALSO to explain the beginning of this episode with his hurt arm, Chat Noir actually Cataclysmed Monarch and Gabriel is slowly decaying, spreading from his arm to the rest of his body
I don't know if you watched all the seasons of Miraculous Ladybug, but in one of the seasons marinette reveals her secret about being Ladybug to Alya. And Alya keeps her secret ,and supports her and helps her out.
This vs the actual series:
We waited 8 years (and still counting btw) for a LB and CN reveal. Everytime we got it, their memories or THE WHOLE DAMN TIMELINE was erased. (Oblivio and Chat Blanc) THESE TWO FVKERS, SHADYBUG AND CLAWNOI, HAD A REVEAL IN 40 MINUTES.
I believe some time during season 4 is when Ayla finds out about who Ladybug is. Also in the first episode of season 5 chat noir accidentally hits shadow moth with his power and then shadow moth teleports away accidentally taking the lucky charm with him so ladybug can’t reverse that damage which explains his black arm at the beginning and so he’s basically on a time limit for the rest of season 5. Also this special episode takes place right after season 5 episode 1
I really like this movie but there was a lot of telling and not much showing. I wish they *showed* more of the alternate world in order to understand them better on a personal level. Maybe a series of flashbacks of Chloe’s abusiveness, maybe Shadybug and Clawnoir talking after the reveal (as they talk we get a flashback of their first meeting or someth), or a glimpse into their family dynamics and how they got their powers etc.
Thank you for reacting and putting a commentary to the only GOOD episode we've had of Miraculous for a long time after that dumpster fire of a season.

The corruption caused by the evil use of the Miraculous led him to be in extreme pain. The Cataclism was just another layer of pain for him. He didn't care anymore; he was already dying. 😭

Friendly neighbourhood Miraculous Fan dropping in with context (and extra) also, this ep takes place between s4 and s5: 1:40 There is a song on KZhead where Hawkmoth sings, which is pretty cool 1:56 Hawkmoth later became shadow-moth and then finally monarch after getting all the miraculous 3:29 In S4, Shadowmoth successfully takes all but the ladybug and cat miraculous in his possession, following which ladybug tries to get each on back each following episode 3:47 The reason Natalie doesn't pick up is because she and Gabe had a falling out in the show 4:06 Gabe is going to talk to Adrien, and in the later seasons of the show, he does try, but the burn on his arm stops him. The burn was created by Chat Noir's Cataclysm when he touched Shadowmoth with it, due to which Gabe's health slowly deteriorates 4:25 Chat Noir is very capable of destroying everything with his cataclysm, Plagg even more so (as seen in Chat Blanc) 5:29 The rally of support is a scene from the show after Monarch steals the miraculous 5:38 Though that's the central premise, throughout the show, ladybug also employs other swamis by assigning them temporary holders; without the miraculous, she can no longer do so. 6:21 The dialogue is once again referencing S4, where she's down on herself for having lost the kwamis 8:27 As you find out later, Alya Cesaire is the only one who knows everything about Ladybug; Marinette does reveal her identity in a very heart-touching way to her when she gets overwhelmed by everything in the show. It attempts to show the two ways one can go down when faced with a struggle. It is definitely one of the finer specials, and the different art styles are always a treat. The jokes of the emo heroes live on!

But not to keep. so they eventually get taken 8:30 Yes, Alya knows at this point that Marinette is Lady Bug - and Marinette knows she knows. It was a whole thing. Also, this Alya has already been a superhero too. Tiki and Plagg both are so much more than what you've seen - truly unfathomable 21:34 yep... while in the normal universe, Marinette is the one hopelessly in love with Adrien, in that world, Adrien is the one in love with Marinette 21:55 and thats what I was talking about earlier... lol... though, theres still more to it 23:58 to give it back to the Supreme 24:13 Akumatizing someone basically turns them into whatever they want... so if the want to be giants, they'll be giants 24:25 because he's the holder of the Butterfly Miraculous - which is where Hawk moth/Shadow Moth/Monarch gets the ability to Akumatize. I think they thought because he also has the Butterfly, he would be able to disable it. 30:20 yeah,,, remember, the Supreme holder blocked them from being able to combine their Kwamiis and make their wish. Whoever the Supreme is in that universe can't control the Kwamiis in this one. 35:09 ...no not eternity. Holding so many Miraculous is literally killing Gabriel. And the longer he stays transformed.... so no, not eternity. FYI, the other movies/specials, like the Shanghai and New York specials, may be easier to watch with so many missing pieces of the story. They're a little more standalone. BUT, I really recommend just watching the show. Or at the very least get a list of the plot-central episodes / episodes with the tiny bits of important information and watch those in order.
This special was really good as they got to talk to themselves from another universe about their feelings for different situations, I loved it

34:20 well technically there are limits to “any” super power. The power of the rooster cannot mimic the power of another miraculous superpower and can only mimic one power at a time. So for instance, it cannot be used to control people, create, destroy, time jump, or distort powers of other miraculous abilities as those are all powers belonging to other jewels. But it does have its uses.

Weird things I noticed about this special: 1. After Alya was de-akumatized Ladybug just left her on the roof of a building like how is she gonna get down from there. 2. When Ladybug and Claw Noir revealed their identities with their parallel selves wouldn’t there be at least a few cameras in the swimming pool or school or is their security in Paris just stupid.

Honestly.... when you have a life eerily similar to Adrien's, this special hits HARD. This kid has been my comfort character for almost a decade now, and it never ceases to break me the pain he goes through. Losing a parent is hard, but watching everyone left around turn their backs on you one by one... It's excruciating. The depth to his character is incredible, and the voice acting really brings it home. Bravo Bryce Papenbrook for feeding my life-long hyperfixation

Honestly, I feel like Aidrien would be such a better protagonist than Marinette. Like, I think his character and his connection to everything else could be explored so much more if he was the main character and his life is much more tragic and has so much potential. I'm not saying bullying and isolation aren't a big deal btw but Marinette's character in general isn't as apealing as a protagonist in my opinion.
