  • Had a friend that lived in S. Lake Tahoe...We rode (coasted) our bicycles down kingsbury grade ...his wife would pick us up at the bottom with her pickup truck & we'd do it again...i figured we'd hit 50mph but we never went as fast as these big wheel guys!!

  • This has to be the best free wheeling downhill race I've seen. Maybe not quite so hard core as the South American trolley races where half of the contestants are not even wearing a shirt, and jump straight back on after a major tumble losing a bunch of skin, but fast, highly skilled, and it was good to see them taking aerodynamics seriously - the trolley racing 'co-pilot' often stands fully upright at the back which must act as a major air brake!

  • Eurobeat engage! I remember back in the 70's,coming home and seeing the flashing lights ahead. Cop had my friend pulled over and had one of his jackboots stepping on the Big Wheel like it might get away. He was reading my friend the riot act for driving an unregistered vehicle. Officer said he could cite him for no horn,turn signals,lights and impound the vehicle but he was letting my friend off easy.
