- First of all, no, she wasn't forced to be like this. Almost every teenager is like this. Secondly, this stage of her only lasted in her teens, not "half of her life". The girl is 22, she is no where near the half of her life.

- I agree. She was definitely forced to act as a certain type of girl that she portrayed on television. She was known to everyone as the Miley from the Hannah Montana show; no one knew the actual Miley like her close friends and family did. The Disney corporation basically owned her. Whenever I see her doing something wild, I don't really think her motive is to try and gain attention from her fan base. I think she does certain acts to prove to the Disney corporation that she can do whatever she wants. It's like a big "fuck you" to Disney. And I just wanted to remind all of you, during the Hannah Montana period I remember seeing on the news that Miley took "inappropriate" photos of herself and also claimed she wanted to do porn. I'm not sure if the entire claim of her wanting to do porn is true, however those pictures she took are real. I'm pretty sure someone has influenced that "sexual" mentality in her head since the day the photos were leaked and I'm almost positive the Disney corporation had something to do with it.

I'm 25 now. I first heard this song when I was like 10 or 11 and I was shook when Miley stopped only producing songs as Hannah and was starting to just produce them as Miley Cyrus. And I still do! I still listen to her new songs AND her old. Always will be a fan :) Love you Miley

since I was a kid I loved the mature and teen way to approach these emotions. It's like the verse is a grown up letter of goodbye but the chorus is the actual revelation of going through this stuff as a teen, and now that I hear this again, as an adult. We've all been in a place where we hate certain aspects of someone and love them and those aspects bc they simply make up what that person is. IDK

i had a best friend in first grade up till 6th grade. but, in 1st grade, we were inseparable. you practically needed a crowbar to separate us. this song was 'our song'. now we're both in high school and we don't talk to each other at all. hell, she doesn't even look my way anymore. this song came on during lunch one day and i started crying the pacific ocean.

This song is such a core memory because I remember listening to it all the way back in 2008, I don't even remember how I came across this song but I remember being so obsessed with learning the lyrics even though it was my first ever exposure to english music and english wasn't my native language. I used to imitate this video in front of my grandpa's computer and there was barely any internet. It was a song that changed my trajectory forever because if I didn't get obsessed with this song and get into Hannah Montana later than I would have been a very very very different person today.

This song brings back so many memories. It makes me feel nostalgic for when I was 13. I was innocent, clueless, and most importantly I was happy. I didn't know the real world. I had an idol and it was Miley. I had so many dreams but now it's all gone. I miss my teenage years. Thanks everyone for all the likes and supportive comments. I am actually chasing my dreams now :)

- People don't like it because she seems to be a mental case. She broke up with Hemsworth and that sent her off the handle, and she obviously tries really hard to be different and rebellious. Even in this video you kinda see it in her eyes a twinkle of psycho. But, at the same time, her fans grew up with her so they're old enough to "handle" it. She's not doing kid shows anymore. But I agree - when you show up with signs that you've been doing coke before a show, are mental unstable, it's time to take a break and get it together. I dare say she'll end up worse than Lindsay Lohan if she doesn't wake up and see what she's doing.

Its 15 years later and have a husband now and am pregnant with my first child. I adored the boy I was with at the time.
