This session I hit the forgotten ponds. I was surprised to find when i arrived that these ponds were in fact in flood. Some areas of the wood that were once dry were now completely under water! This meant that the fish would be more spread out and possibly now occupying areas of the wood that they couldn't get to previously. Pike were the target using jerkbaits and swimbaits to try and find the fish!

watched you lift the trophy last week and do you know what I wasn't surprised . There was to many anglers that were either pike or perch specialist but we (your loyal followers) knew you had the all round game to lift that trophy. Well done sir👏
Not really different anglers fish better because waters they target have more pike or perch in! You think ash Costa couldn’t sack up on pike if there was there!
RayFlynn I second your comment 👍👍👍😜🏴🦕🦄😁🤞✌️
@chopperhehehe cheers mate
@benhowlett7693 the best man won
What was the competition? Any footage?
Congrats on last weeks win . Happy new year to you and family an fellow watchers . Great session in firgoten pond 👍👍👍😜🏴🦕🦄😁🤞✌️
The care for the fish like always is incredible such respect for you Chris keep up the brilliant videos👍
Good day on them forgotten ponds Chris I'm impressed I wone that UK tournament aswell congratulations
My YPC Champion!!! Huge congratulations Chris! Massively deserved! 🏆
Those forgotten ponds look like the perfect place for a bit of big eel fishing 😮
Loch lomond in Scotland, biggest eels in the uk that I ever seen, you must row out your spam or liver baits out in a boat and drop them over 150 meters out into the deep . Use a BIG bait and big hook so smaller eels can nibble but not get hooked this activity attracts the specimens of up to 9lbs some even bigger like small conger. The biggest eel I ever caught was on a whole frozen burger moulded onto the hook in a sausage shape and dropped over 200yds from shore from a rowboat . It weighed 10lbs 11oz
@@captainflint89I thought eel fishing was forbidden in Scotland? A 10lb'er would be a dream wow
these are open to fishing for anyone. Free fishing as well psotcode DN22 8SD
Great watch like normal Chris 👍
i reckpn the snag bros beat you to it and had all the doubles out before you got there lol....great content..love this channel👌👌
Brilliant video Chris!
Love the great photography and detail! Well done Chris!
I love waters like this for pike. Pike thrive on neglect.
Once we went to fish places like this. These holes get filled with water when the river rises, the fishes go there but they get trapped. I got 32 pike from one of them - ofc released all of them back into the river. They were so hungry, they had eaten literally everything.
Well done chris proud of you for winning. But it was no surprise keep it up and thank you for teaching me so much
Looking forward to the next vid! ❤️
Always a banger,camera work,care of the fish,all outstanding

As a sea angler. Some of your content really wants me to try a bit. (Dare I say it) poaching. Very light spinning gear and small lures. Looks fun.
Great video!!!

I like your fishing style, beautiful fish strikes are all released, full support 👍 10:36
Weather looks nice over there
Those mushrooms were Turkey Tail, whilst not nummy to eat, they have INCREDIBLE health benefits, great to make into a tincture, Great to see so many growing, must get out to the woods and collect a few!
Brilliant video quality and editing as always 👍
Can recommend Weihrauch HW45 stuck in your waders for dealing with goosanders.

Just love your videoes Greetings from Denmark
Another top vid chris small but fish for the future mate 🎣👊💯
Excellent video . One interesting thing is that I'm from Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, and everybody that I grew up with called Pike , Jack fish or more commonly Jack's . I'm 68 and have known since a teen that some people call them Pike , but only because I've always been a voracious reader . We also always called Walleye , Pickerel . And Freshwater Drum , we called Silver Bass . But an hour north of here on gigantic Lake Winnipeg ( 9000 ) square miles , Drum are called Sunfish . PS , being an old guy I still call all three by their local names .
Congratulations on winning the YPC 2023! 🎉 Knew you could do it and really hoped you would! Seeing that huge pike on Day 1 of group stage AND your masterful recovery of (another) lost landing net showed you were the lure fishing guy to beat! *bow* 🙇🙇🙇
it was a good hunt
Brilliant camera work.
Certainly a great days fishing. I'm not fortunate enough to fish such prolific waters, on mine if you got one pike. You'd be very pleased, more often than not you blank. Those lures were always called plugs don't know when their name was changed but it confuses me when you say jerk or swim baits. The only other lures that we used to use were spinners or spoons.
❤🎄❤ AUGURI ❤️🎄❤️
Привет,классная рыбалка и красивые места👍
What a cool place to explore, thank you for sharing your fishing! I've been curious how your predator species would respond to my favorite rig, the weedless underspin paired with a soft jerk bait or swim bait. Our northern pike love anything that flashes and spins so they always smash my owner flashy swimmer.
Great 😊
Brill as allways
Hi Chris any chance of doing a video on how to set up bait caster reel for lure fishing many thanks Tim
The quality of your footage is brilliant, do you use a go pro. If so what settings?
Чудові місця для риболовлі!!!
Don't know if you will see this comment but I'm new to your channel and I love it pal. Great content. I've been carp fishing for years but wanna tackle the river now. Can you give me any tips on what tackle to get.. rods reels, line, lures etc. I'm a proper noob to this.. thanks 👍👍
Although the fish weren't big the sport was great. Great session Chris. 🙂
I'll watch whatever you want to film Chris......
Doesn't matter what you do Chris, great content as always.
Gill rakers ...arterial blood..delicate.. Interesting place Interesting fishing...those pike probably supplement their diet with all manner of woodland creatures.. epically in floods..
I am so impressed with your skills, and you fish areas a lot of us would overlook. You deserve all your catches. Dave B , Chichester West Sussex
That pond is absolutely AMAZING
Have you made this your full-time job yet or are you still working another job? Love the vid as always mate
ROONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely love you’re videos best on KZhead , what Underwater camera do you use ??
Do you use a wire trace with your lures ,it looks like the line is tied direct to the lure.
is this desinfection spray? Can you actually use that for fish too?
How do you catch in coloured water? im having no luck, using rattling bright coloured lures 😔
Have you ever fished the Erewash canal/river , if so do you know if there is anything good in there 👍🎣?
quick question Chris! do you use a mono leader from your braid or do you rig your braid straight to a wire trace. thanks a lot
Do you no the pike with a broken back on the canel it’s still floating down the canel bless it
Crackin....
Beautiful ginger beard! "Men Only" beard fertilizer I assume?
What's the spray you used on the fish?
Love your content so real and honest. Do you not ever use spinners like a nice honest silver one classic ?
Ginger how many pike have u caught all together?
I might figure out a trailer for the bike and drag a kayak back there…
Please post that clip on the trophy I cant find it chris
Can anyone tell me what pray he's using? I'd be keen on using that too when sport fishing
I actually enjoy catching smaller fish on ultralight than a big fish on heavy gear. They’re much more agile and quicker. Gods truth, I prefer it.
Is this Hay-a-park lakes at the bottom of Knarseborough?
Defiantly not!
Hi mate. I have a lake near me thats choked with weed. Each cast is a painful waste of time. How can i approach it? Stressing me out and i feel like im just wasting my damn time unless its spring/summer and use surface lures. Can never tempt them with a deadbait either. Im stumped.
New bike Chris?
What bikebis that?
Where do you get your antiseptic spray from please mate?
Most tackle shops should stock it ,or plenty of mail order outlets .
@@sturoe7361 thank you👍🏻
whats that spray called
What are you using on damaged fish? I hardly ever came across hurt fish, lately I've been catching several pikes, eels and even a catfish by hooking them somewhere along the body. No idea why this is a thing now, but I'd like to do a bit of repairing. Especially the eels really do damage, I killed two of them that had more or less gutted themselves. The actual working compound would help, Dutch retailers don't buy much UK gear anymore.
You are striking the hook too late, the fish is brushing your line and you are reacting to that, perhaps try a different rig to ensure the fish does t foul hook when you strike, the other reason is they might be checking your offering first before attacking, but I would say that you are striking far too late after the fish has investigated and brushed your line. What you are doing though is damaging fish stocks and if they don't heal quickly you are encouraging disease to the fish, there are plenty of fish antiseptics available mainly aimed at carp fisherman.
Just wondering where abouts in the country you fish
I didn't understand how did the 3th pike get the wound, can someone explain? Thanks,
Goosander is a predator bird.
@@ihcfn thank you!
