  • Good luck Rosa make sure to get PCT long distance permit and California fire permit to use camp stove. Be careful watch your water supply points and know how to use crampons and ice axe thru the mountain passes which will be snowed in late this season. Practice self arrest with ice axe to stop from sliding out of control.

We certainly do not agree spiritually, and I am not a drinker (at all), but I do enjoy watching you enjoy your life!! I hope your trek brings you much joy and satisfaction.     • My grandma was a drinker and maybe that's why my only suggestion would be "give up drinking"... what is the purpose of drinking? Living better? No. Drinking she would miss to live fully the moments... tbh I thought she was drinking ONLY in a small part of the day, if you drink a few from the bottle is ok. But drinking is something I suggest her to stop, is something she doesn't need.

    • @@Yep6803 It's okay to enjoy things that arent a necessity. No she doesnt "need" to drink, but wanting to, and enjoying responsilbly, is valid enough. We dont "need" to eat sweet treats, but in moderation, its just fine. Imagine how boring life would be if we only did things that we needed to, while ignoring our wants. As long as our wants dont harm anyone, its perfectly fine.

    • @heatherva Just so everyone knows, I was not being critical of her drinking. Nor was I being critical of her spiritual life. I guess I was saying she could be happy and blessed if she adjusted her life style. She is doing well being a vegetarian!! LOL Again I am glad she is happy. She seems very sweet!!

  • We used to say that averaging 1 mile per hour with a back pack on in the mountains, was doing pretty well. 20 of those per day, is pretty aggressive.

    • Yes it is. Even though many say the PCT is less physical than the AT and a lot less physical than the CDT. I would imagine you still need rest days or days with very limited hiking. I'm been on some parts of the AT as I live close to it. The CDT I wouldn't mind seeing some of these areas but the elevation is far too brutal. I wonder who she's going to hike it with. Solo hiking any of these trails is beyond dangerous even for the best in the world.

    • As person who had commute for YEARS in train yes it is. And I had commute in the evening at 11pm with the last train, I had commute in the most scarry place too... yes, it is. I had commute of a day of hard work and everything. Yes, it is. My suggestion is avoid this kind of travels, you won't be relax and you won't being able to feel the travel... is useless doing too much. @@josephdover198

    • @@lisaordell2467 Oh yeah a petite vegetarian female can obviously just hike 20 miles a day for 5 months straight. No problem. No rest days needed. You do realize that you have to pack light and resupply your food source often, right? Hunting isn't an option.

  • I think you're amazing. When I was your age I wanted to be a photographer/journalist and travel with GNR, Cinderella, and film them sort of like William in Almost Famous. Instead I became a court reporter and played it safe. What can I say except it was the 80s and times were good and it was easy and I was not an Adventurist. Whatever you do we will be more than happy to tag along bc you are wonderful! Stay safe and healthy and all will be very well with you! God bless❤

  • Great to here Rosa I felt like that 11 months ago that I needed a change so I went off the road I'm now a general manager of a restaurant I have a really nice 2 bedroom apartment and I bought a second car. My life is really good now have a great job I love. I hope you have a blast doing you hike and you get what you want out of it. Best wishes

  • I wouldn't worry about the video quality issue. By far your biggest strength as a KZheadr has always been the authenticity of what you do - losing access to editing tools can't affect that.
