Alex Sharphouse started with a dream, to recreate Talisman, a Fowler B6 Big Lion Road Locomotive, the ‘King of the Road’ of its era, capable of hauling loads in excess of 100 tonnes. This is an ambitious project, as the last time this engine was built was in 1931 so he was going to need some assistance along the way. With the help of good friend Guy Martin & long-time supporters Morris Lubricants the journey to recreate Talisman could begin. Watch this 6-part series to see Alex & Guy pull together this epic project. In Episode 1 of "How to Build a Steam Engine" Alex & Guy go over the initial challenge that is ahead of them. • Come on - we know you have to edit it down but a full episode in 3 minutes after watching the intro (again!) is not exactly pushing the boundaries of entertainment. Crikey, Guy takes longer than that to make a decent brew! ☕️🤔

    • I timed the full intro at 1:25. Hardly seems worthwhile to watch.

    • It gets worse if they're just the episodes being re-uploaded from the Morris Lubricants channel. They all have that intro and there's one 'episode' that is only about 2 minutes (including intro). Rather disappointing for recording such a piece of history.

  • Would be nice and proper to see a full video instead of these snippets on this channel. Till then no like, no bell smash and definitely no sub from me. But I'm just one person so it really doesn't matter does it? 😐

  • Credit to Alex for taking on such a huge project. But a totally missed opportunity in making a video series from this. 47 second trailer with nothing much behind it. An intro and it's over before it get started. Pity really. But I guess Guy has way too may other projects on the go to focus enough time to do this series the attention it really deserves. Best wishes to Alex with the build.

    • Sadly, there's only 6 (going by the sponsor's channel). Hopefully Morris Lubricants put more effort into research and development of their products than they did recording this achievement, otherwise it must just be water they sell, 'things are more slippery after it rains, lets bottle it'. Edit; It also says in the description that it's only a 6 part series. Extremely disappointing.
