Plot twist: the game is an NFT Edit: why is this still getting replies
💀
NOOOO
NO NO NO NO!!!
Like red ape family The game
Yeah that’s most likely what it’ll be
I am glad someone is looking at the project without it being too clouded by the NFT stuff. Honestly so many more people would have supported this if it did not have NFTs, even if the characters take obvious inspiration to other franchises.
Yeah, I don't like NFTs at all or anything, and while I do think some behaviour of what we've seen on their social media and such is questionable, people are probably jumping the gun with claiming it's gonna be a mess itself. They haven't done anything too extreme, just some questionable ways to fund their games, I'll remain cautious but hopeful.
@@_-Lx-_ I mean if the game work and run good with it being bug free to the point moving something won't break the whole game it good to me
Yep, exactly. The NFT stuff only ended up attracting cr*pto dudes and stuff, folks that probably don't even care about FNaF or, heck, mascot horror games as a whole.
I'm totally ignoring the NFTs and just focusing on the project for what it is. And from what I've seen, it's interesting even though the FNAF factor is obvious.
@@Mike14264 You think they put the NFTs in to get attention and free promotion? Personally, I don't think this would have gotten nearly as much attention as it would have had the developers NOT used NFTs to fund it.
Crazy to think Scott started this trend, one man, that changed horror in gaming. Millions of fans trying to crate their own unique game inspired by Scott’s work.
And he started it out of desperation and hopelessness for his future career in gamedev. Life indeed full of weird miracles.

They could have just relied on patreon or selling off merch, there was no need for NFTs.
its just making more money.
Idk how much merch he could have sold though since he used mostly Scott's or others designs for his previous animations and idk how well kandy land merch could have worked with how expensive his kandy land project looks to be. He does have a patreon and he advertised it decently before but only like 30 people pledge to it sadly. While I don't like the strategy of using nfts, I do understand why he used them, it has and will hurt his reputation by using nfts but we'll see if it's worth it in the end when he releases the game, I do hope the nft's are just a means to an end and his game does well.
@@1Tombb Bruh NFT hosting servers are as bad as the servers literally used for all the video games you play, oh and KZhead. I think NFTs are fucking stupid bruh but that's literally misinformation.

If they had just announced a kickstarter for their animations and future game people would’ve gladly helped out. They also shouldve just stuck with kandyland as their main name so it doesn’t seem like they’re just a complete copy of other games
I wonder if goldenlane studio is located in a restricted country where they are unable to use kickstarter and have to create this nft project as a way to get funds for their game.

Same here. God, this style has so much potential
I hear the people making the actual content and the people doing the questionable NFT/SocialMedia stuff are seperate companies working on different sections, so that does boost my hope that the game and animations will actually be good. Hope they can turn it around, it looks like it has a lot of potential, and hopefully they won't get any further drama past this point.
Yeah, i agree
@@_-Lx-_ Oh thanks for the new i was a little scared of there gonna be a garbage publisher it gives me hope for the future of this game and if its better and sb i would buy it for max 60 bucks because i dont have a big vidéogames budget but it will be cool.
My concern is; why not go the regular route? like set up a pateron, a GoFundMe, anything better? Choosing an outlet where there has been high profile scams will kill majority of the people who want to invest or donate to the cause. Not mention that most folks aren't into crypto, or don't trust it at all. At least with a GoFundMe, people know where somewhat where their money is going.
A Kickstarter would be better than a gofundme
They had a patreon for years
Speculation but maybe because NFT’s pay quite a bit? At least from what I’ve seen with the few that do buy NFT’s Probably a little more lucrative route for those that actually are stupid enough to buy them plus some notoriety to boot (meaning more attention) I could be 100% wrong straight up
Maybe it's to rile folks up for publicity?
I think it is because funding a project through nft might keep the hype higher than doing a patreon or a gofundme
I honestly don't like NFTs but... I do wish that KandyLand gets Funded and made, Like... The Characters are really well made and the designs of each one are unique I mean, A Kangaroo and A Toucan Animatronic? Those are definitely unique characters!

With the NFT money, they might make it an excellent game. I have high hopes as I can see how good the characters look in the animations.
11:20 It's like a mix between HandUnit and Tape Man. I can't believe I'm saying this, but this game has the opportunity to learn from Security Breach's mistakes.
Five Nights at Freddy's is an example of mascot horror done right. Garten of Banban is an example of mascot horror done poorly. And Poppy Playtime sits on the fence (at least for the community, I liked it.)
I honestly cant tell if its supposed to be a parody, or if its actually serious.
Im glad people agree with me on poppy playtime, its really great even if people dislike it I honestly adore it so much
@@Larrysprincess You fuckin' fool, you don't understand why people hate it at all! You are a fuckin' kid, ain't ya? People hate the company that made the game because they are greedy fucks, honestly if you like so much you should pirate it instead of giving money to those people.
@Larry-fs1us It's real, it costs money and the Devs are pissed people refund the game after speedrunning it.
Poppy playtime isn't that good but it's not bad. A good example of mascot horror is like what Kandyland is. A SL-styled mascot horror game. Due to the era we live in, and new technology, SL fits to most modern mascot horror.
This is actually the first time I'm hearing of this thing, but personally, I think it's going to be great. You see, with something like BanBan, it's so, so painfully obvious that they just don't care. Those characters look like they were designed in five seconds! Meanwhile, Poppy Playtime isn't exactly the best game ever either, but compared to BanBan, it's great, and as some people might know, the creators of PP also got their start doing FNaF fan-content. It had those human touches that made it actually feel like a good attempt at something. I dunno, but something just tells me that the people making this, Kandyland, genuinely have a passion for taking something like Security Breach and trying their hardest to give it another go. Yes, Suzy Snacktime could have been chosen just to sound like Poppy Playtime, but it could also be a harkening back to the Funtime Animatronics, who were clearly big inspirations for this.
I personally hate anything that makes the kids drool over it so that's why I hate PP
Fair enough. Granted, it could be argued that FNaF also does the same thing, but PP definitely has a biiiit more kid-bait.
@@Pnod666 fnaf used to not have as much kidbait but they're really leaning into it with the whole removing mentions of blood/injury in fnafsb (also whatever the fuck funko is doing). hopefully the movie changes this trend

@@Minymonkey Woaw it's so mature to hate kids stuff
Using NFT’s to fund for a bigger project is already a bad idea, but the fact that people already think it’s a scam is probably going to make production for the game even harder, considering the fact that NFT’s have a very bad reputation online. The animation is done incredibly and it could have a lot of potential.
The kandyland animations are easily some of the best fnaf esque stuff ever made
I'm glad you actually explained what an NFT is supposed to be. At first when I heard NFTs when it was still only starting to become popular, I actually liked the idea for digital artists, but then they've been used for scamming and now everyone automatically thinks every NFT is a scam, which for the most part is true.
It has two problems. 1: NFT 2: NSFW refrence ignoring those two, 200% in love with the project.
fnaf had nsfw and weird shit in it too.. Even worse with explicitly dark and violent backstories for the characters. This is just a shameless nft-grift (At least it is for now unless the game gets made or some other outcome is generated besides money from nfts that goes towards nothing). Also its not really nsfw...people are just horny for robots and furries. They know there's weirdos in the audience.
FNAF has Toy Chica, so

Oh wow, I remember watching some of those old animations and being honestly stunned at how good they looked for being made in Source Filmmaker. I didn't even realize they were the ones doing Suzy Snacktime, man, what a throwback. I really think that Kandyland could be pretty cool, the visuals are very cool indeed, but we'll have to see how the gameplay holds up.
Hopefully it manages to redeem itself, the visuals look very stunning. And the designs are pretty well made. I'll keep an open mind in case it turns out well, but will also prepare for the worst given the qustionable first impression and buisness stuff.
I have no interest in nft's, so of course I won't support the game through nft's lol. Now that the game is past that stage, I can actually get somewhat interested in it. Assuming it even really is a game, since he has animation skills specifically. And you're damn right Susie appeals to a specific kind of demographic, lol
The fact that Goldenlane straight up PREDICTED FNAF: Security Breach is impressive!
the animations are so stunning, I really hope this turns out to be good. I'll trust the creator and wait for the results.

11:15 thats an insane henry emily impression.
It almost sounds more like Henry than henry himself, if that makes any sense.
i honestly really liked the goldenlane channel, their animation quality was really fucking good and kandyland looked extremely promising and still does by itself the nft thing killed it unfortunately, both for me and for many other people because both of how stupid nfts are as a concept and because of how badly they are for the enviroment like they could have made a kickstarter, a patreon, sell merch, even a go found me if they really wanted, and yet they choose nft. also the only note i want to add on the neft thing is that you do not buy the picture, you buy a *link* to the picture, which i think explains way better why nfts are more of a scam than what it looks like
What's funny is that the guy who invented NFTs fucking hates what they've become.
@@starhammer5247 exactly

Patreon they have one very few people pledged to it 3. Merch needs alot of capital in the first place 4. Gofundme doesn’t have a good reputation might not be available like kickstarter in their country Now lets say they are from a country where both gofundme and kickstarter aren’t supported their options are patreon and merch as stated merch is expensive and patreon did not have many pledgers

The original intention, or at least what they were used most for in the begining was for digital artists to sell, so that the buyer could prove they owned it. The art community basically had it taken from them and now when anyone hears NFT they think scam, not original artwork.

If I had to describe the Kandyland project and its involvement with NFTs in one quote from Arcane, it would be this one from Singed: "I must warn you: if you take this path, they will despise you. Love and legacy are the sacrifices we make for progress."
It's a truly huge shame this game is funded through NFTs. However, Kandyland looks so visually beautiful, and I'm extremely conflicted on whether to play the game when it comes out or not. Because I do want to play this game, but I also fear for the reaction and people falsely accusing me of supporting NFTs when I don't. Similarly to when I was too scared of say I'm a Poppy Playtime fan. EDIT: Had to rephrase because of my God awful choice of words making people completely misunderstand me and attack me for it.
coming out as a poppy playtime fan 😭, what is the internet anymore
Tbh the problem with Poppy Playtime is the creators' behavior in more than just selling NFTs (though NFTs were surely a big part of it). So it's a thing to say "I like PP and plan to buy it", and another to see "I like PP and am gonna buy its merch and love Mob Games so much".
Ew, Poppy Playtime
@@sororxcideI know right? The intent is crazy man, for example we gotta deal with fuckers like you XDD

It's crazy because I remember seeing his FNAF 3 Trailer when I was a kid (thinking it was real) and being so hyped about a free-roam FNAF game. Now, that same person apparently made Kandyland. Man, I feel old.
"rainbow sword for some reason" Yeah, no reason. Nothing to do with a month celebrating one of the seven deadly sins.
I've seen so many of the Goldenlane Studio videos, I can't believe I didn't realize it was the same person
I had honestly forgotten about Kandyland entirely until this video cropped up on my KZhead homepage. Truthfully, I'm not surprised that the developers had to turn to NFTs to help fund a game, I mean, other companies have done worse marketing schemes. But you know what? I think there's promise with this game. The aesthetic is on point, and feels refreshing, being very reminiscent of the grand fairs and festivals you'd see advertised in the 1910s. So many FNAF inspired fan projects pull too heavily from the chain restaurant mascot look, and this is a nice departure.
honestly they should've just done a kickstarter or something I'm pretty sure a lot more people would've been more willing to fund the project and it wouldn't have gotten it's reputation that it has now, but now it has the reputation of having resorted to nfts for for money. Like I get nfts were the popular at the time but it would eventually lose that popularity (plus the risk of the whole markets and fluctuating values and stuff)
I like how 6:21 is the "Most Watched Moment" 'cuz everybody skiped the NFT part lmao
The mouth thing with the animatronic girl reminds me of Kuki Shinobu's mask.
It's insane to me how obvious it is that Suzy's design is a plagarism of Circus Baby
Thanks for the quick summary on this whole thing. Though, regarding the design of the animatronics. You can't really reinvent the wheel for all characters when doing smth others are doing as well.
I think my main concern is like what route could they take to make the story interesting? If the project just looks pretty but has no substance then what? I guess I'm personally burnt out with horror stories like these. Other than killer animatronics and pretty visuals, we don't really have much to go off. I hope them the best, even if I hate that they've used NFTs. If the project ever comes out maybe I'll look up an analysis vid or something.
I joined the discord around the beginning of this year, originally not realizing thst for the time being they're just posting NFTs. Kandyland looks like it would be an amazing setting for a game, especislly all broken down in the style that SB: Ruin is. The models and animations are polished and the characters have some personaliry to them just in terms of appearence, i was disappointed when all i got were notifications for new NFT models and not game updates.
I saw a trailer of it on Twitter and was confused when I saw the comments. Saw it was promoting NFT's and just went on my way. On one hand I get what they are trying to do, they are trying to raise money without the commitment of something like a Kickstarter. Sadly they just picked the literal worse other option. I think that in turn this will hurt its chances of reaching big KZheadrs as they might not wanna touch a game that has associations with NFT's.
Bro literally Fnaf and bendy came out and then everyone was trying to get a slice of that pie
I do wish they didn't turn to NFTs to fund this project, but they did. Regardless, I hope this game does come to fruition and it doesn't end up being another cancelled or failed fnaf-inspired game because it has so much potential imo.

Honestly, aside from the eNeFTee stuff (that apparently only exist to fund the creation of the game and all), this whole thing does look great, really great, even if the characters have very clear sources of inspiration, and Suzy looks like she was made to appeal to a somewhat older audience.
They could have sold Suzy on only friends to make money
I do feel like its a bit funny to cast shade on the project for using a thirst trap when security breach has Glamrock Chicka and Roxanne. Like the devs knew what they were doing designing them like that.
11:10 (in case you haven’t already gotten this comment) That’s Henry from Fnaf 6 that the voice almost sounds identical to, not the Hand Unit from SL. (Hand Unit has the same corporate voice as in Help Wanted, and also 6 if I remember correctly)
I actually like Suzy Snacktime she looks like Circus Baby when Afton decided to give her a more feminine look and style also it feels like everyone is going to turn her into a NSFW character and I'm scared
The dev's yt shorts are already sexualising her
Before watching this video, I saw NFTs as just the coin to the slot of every joke about rich youtubers scamming people. I see basically all the tells of this being another example of the growing list. Yet at the same time... I'm honestly rooting for it. I want this to be fully realized. When I see people clown on this, I actually get a little annoyed because I'm genuinely of the persuasion that this is an actual product that is being made. The sheer talent of Goldenlane has hooked me from the beginning, and seeing how much it improved now has me absolutely starstruck. It all inspires me even despite my feelings on the NFT part. NFTs' synonymy with lies, theft, snobbery, and irritating traps and pitfalls has been excellent to laugh at but to see it tacked onto something I genuinely don't want to fail fills me with a strange new breed of anxiety. The point is, though there are many suspicious signs of this possibly being a scam, there are just as many eye-catching signs of this possibly being a new masterpiece in the growing roster of fan-made legends. It's the kind of coin toss that I'd sweat while watching because I'm genuinely interested. I just have to wait and see, which is unequivocally the worst part of my dilemma.
Oh yes, when I saw the videos I was blown away. The graphics, the look of the characters &' also the environment. Looks just really great, hopefully we get a game. It would be so cool these people are incredibly talented.
I also hope they make a movie about it because that would be so cool having a movie based on Kandy land but only after they do great the game if they are gonna finish it that is

This is too high-quality to be a scam. I've seen it and it's absolutely beautiful!
Im pretty sure the voice over is David Steele, the same guy who voices Henry Emily in fnaf pizzaria simulator. I knew when i first heard it that i recognised the voice but couldnt place it until now. I went back and listened to his speech from that game (iconic btw) and their voices are identical! I think its a fun pull for them to be the same
to be fair scams aren't the only issue with nfts. a good chunk of us see 'nft' and get annoyed regardless of if it's a scam or not

I seen this like months ago and was obsessed and even drew this baby look alike character but then I found out. N F T definitely hurt because these creations are so beautifully made, I hope this all goes down on the right track.
Thank you for not roasting the stuff bc of the nft and u paid attention to the game just thank u
I seriously hope this game will be good because the characters are breathtaking and I like that some of them are unique animals I hadn't even considered as animatronics. Aside from the nfts this is so cool!
If I'm planning a game when I'm older, I'll fundraise it using Ko-fi and/or Patreon, not the NFT stuff. If Kandyland ends up being good, it'll be an exception to my NFT hatred.
CandyLand’s animation is so good like unbelievably good it looks like it could have a lot of potential
i recently watched the episodes and its SOOO GOOOD like the animatronics have an extraordinary design and the the concept is really cool
This is what NFTs really should have been used for, and the fact that people have decided to use it for scams and get-rich-quick schemes is sad. The idea that a creator can sell creative variants of a character to fund their projects would be a really good alternative to things like Kickstarter.
I remember first hearing about Kandland I was so excited then I heard about the NFT and I haven't looked at it since, If they wanted their project to succeed they should know better than do you do try and fund it with the hot topic of the day that is mostly considered a scam. Even if the NFT's are just meant to fund the project they're still a scam, you can just commission an artist to get you a good looking character of any design you want that is actually unique for around 100$ or less and isn't just a copy and paste alt which is what a NFT is for a couple thousand. 2:00 OMG I remember that damm video now, it's been in the back of my head for the last 8 years.
I'm honestly super excited! I think this game will be very high quality and I cannot wait
I think it would've been better if they just did had a pateron or a kickstarter? Considering how well made it looks, I feel like a lot of people would've been happy to fund it directly.
Lets just say gold was ahead of his time with the fan made fnaf 3 trailer. we did end up getting to explore a mall but probably not the way veteran fans like me wanted
This is a great video, only problems are people judging what goldenlane studios was doing instead of actually asking what they were doing
the most replayed part of the video is people skipping the nft diolog, lol
Highy doubt it will even exist at all, for months we simply don't see any images or videos that showcase gameplay only skins on their joke of a twitter account.
For designing something that is pleasant on the eyes for once, he deserves to do nfts
I have a concept idea for the game. I like what you suggested with Suzy Snacktime, what if you did play as her but at random points of the game you glitched out and the game flashes back with you in a different area holding her mouth and with something that belongs to a kid and while she's like that you switch to the kid and try to reset her or something, like you switch players I just think that's a really cool idea in my eyes as the plot is trying to find out how to fix them all
This looks gorgeous. If it’s good and clear passion is put into it, I’ll support it.
I'm actually really excited for Kandyland. I feel like it looks a lot more polished and the character design a lot better than any other fan game that's been made.
these are the only nfts that i actually would support if buying them wasnt the same as buying a receipt, they have actual quality behind them and the creator seems to care about what they are making too
Honestly I didn’t even know the existence of kandyland
I hope kandyland animation gets enough funding, because in terms of characters, and the graphics of the animation are pretty good
I sure would have supported it. NFTs do not have to be the answer to fund a project. There are always places like Kickstarter, it doesn't hurt for a creator with a steady fanbase to ask them for help.
You know, even if the game turns out to be good or bad, I just gotta say that it actually looks like someone put some sort of effort into it, unlike garten of banban. Even though the game's got NFT'S behind it, im still curious to see how it turns out in the end.
I absolutely cannot wait to see what golden lane does with the game! I’m so excited
To be very fair, the quality is pretty damn nice. The people aren't so realistic that there's an uncanny valley feeling, and the animatronics seem to be very well designed, let alone rendered. It's gorgeous. And they deserve the exposure and revenue, cause it's actually pretty interesting and you can tell there's a lot of hard work that went into this. If there's people boycotting it for some weird reason, and then getting on peoples' case about it, I'd say that's unfair. If it's entertaining, it's entertaining. Even if they were shorts and not even full episodes, or a whole game, it's something for people to "consume"

"Is it good" is such a difficult question to answer with this, because other than the NFT stuff, this whole Kandyland project doesn't have anything going for it yet. There's currently 3 episodes of their little series out, which amounts to 5 minutes and 52 seconds in total. Aaaaand that's it. It simply doesn't have enough content yet to be good or bad. The trailer for the game looks okay, but so far I'm not seeing anything I didn't already see in the series, Security Breach, or in Atomic Heart. And I'm not into NFTs, though I respect that some people are. But this does mean that for someone who has no interest in NFTs, this is BARELY EVEN THE SKELETON OF A CONCEPT at this point.
i like this video. honestly, I don't think it's a scam (what type of scam that deliberately tells you what you're gonna get?) but it should've been more than NFTs. i do hope for kandyland to get a bright future someday.
Ok thank you for clarifying! For a while it seemed like a waste…..But I’m so glad there’s an end goal!Mean they should’ve gone other routes but…Thank god they have a actual end goal and not just making it all about the nfts
Kandyland is probably one of the best FNAF inspired short series and it's a shame that the creator decided to use NFTs for funding, as anything to do with NFTs is a bad decision.
OMG I THINK I SAW THAT SERIES THEY MADE YEARS AGO! It was pretty well done, it had like.... insect infected animatronics? Don't remember LOL, it was ages ago. Kind of a jumpscare ngl, totally forgot about the series :v
While people can say it’s all good fun and that the NFTs are there for a good purpose, you have to realize that at the end of the day they’re just pictures. There is no return on people’s investment other than saying you have it. That is what makes NFTs a scam, no matter the intentions. The same goes for the NFT sales that Poppy playtime did, then quickly stopped advertising. The fact that the characters themselves are heavily inspired off of other games is also a huge red flag. Bendy pulled the wool over people’s eyes once, and this is bound to do it again.
