On June 7th, Europe took the stage in their home country Sweden for a very special occasion: celebrating 30 years of rock music. The Swedish rock band celebrated this event together with 30,000 people at the famous Sweden Rock Festival, playing a total selection of 28 songs, picking their personal favourite moments spanning from their earlier years up to their most recent songs taken from albums like 'Last Look At Eden' and 'Bag Of Bones'; for the lovers of statistics and rarities some of the songs had never been played live before.
The bombastic greatest hits show also has its soulful moment when the band sits down for an emotional acoustic set which gives the massive arena show a club feeling before the band goes back to the hard rock they are known for.
To pay tribute to some of their biggest heroes, Europe invited two very special guests to perform with them: Scott Gorham (Thin Lizzy) for an electrifying version of 'Jailbreak' and Michael Schenker (MSG, ex UFO and Scorpions) for one of hard rock's evergreens, UFO's classic 'Lights Out'.
The set list is full of treasures and surprises but Europe were determined to celebrated and enjoy their long record of hit singles: like 'Carrie', 'Rock The Night', 'Superstitious', ´Open Your Heart´, 'Last Look At Eden', ´Prisoners in Paradise´, 'New Love In Town' and, of course, the ever-present and always electrifying 'The Final Countdown'.
Over two hours and forty minutes of concert footage, in a state of the art High Definition movie featuring behind the scenes material and an exclusive interview with the band makes 'Live At Sweden Rock -- 30th Anniversary Show' the definitive Europe live experience!

Absolutely mate. He still can sing great, no matter he can't reach the high notes anymore (just Michael Kiske and a few others have managed to maintain their voices intact throughout their careers). He changed his singing style to take care of his voice, and what a powerful voice he still has. And it's amazing that all the original members are still together in the band. That fills me with joy. This band is part of the history of metal music.
What a pity his voice is not the same it was. But the arrangements are still the same incredibly.

People can say whatever they want. This song must be the most catchy ever rock tune. And of course, Mr Norum pulls off an insane solo. I will never grow tired of this. I have listened to Europe since I was ten, and I still love them. Wonderful band with excellent and dedicated musicans. Thanks for the 30 first years

I used 2 love hearing it played over the P.A. System at Madison square garden while I was listening 2 close hard fought down to the wire Knicks and Rangers playoff games from the comfort of my own living room. it got u excited as like a theme song for the "final countdown"/ minutes and seconds of a playoff game. Like it was telling u an amazing end 2 an epic story/ game.

Still sounds great as it did when I first heard it when I was in college. They are still great in 2023 as they were their album "The Final Countdown" came out. that was when I was introduced to their music. They are a testament to true rockers after 35 years since "The Final Countdown" was released.

John Norum is one of the BEST guitarists of the last 30 yrs. This guy can do everything. This group is very underrated. This sounds great to me. Great production.

I would not be suprised if he simply never stopped practicing and attempting to perfect his voice. I heard them live last year and he still sounds amazing. I can only assume he takes good care of his voice.

They've been recording albums again and playing huge European festivals, but only since 2004, when they reunited. They were on hiatus from 1992-2003, except for a one-off reunion. It's not like they've had huge hits since they've reunited in other parts of the world outside of Sweden, so it's probably a good thing that the Geico commercial put them on the map again in the U.S.
