  • Took me forever. I neglected to follow up on a hidden pair and got stuck but eventually got it after putting it down for the afternoon. Thanks!!

  • When I started playing Sudoku last year, I learned initially from The Sudoku Guy who placed much importance on Synder Notations and I watched you all the time and asked you for clarification a couple of times. Then I discovered Neil’s channel where he solved by using logics only with no Synder Notations. I tend to like his method of solving a bit more but I am having a hard time learning his method. Now that I have played a few months, I can follow your solving quite easily and find it interesting. It’s two way of solving a puzzle and I am try to combine both. Thank you!

  • I completely missed that hidden 2 - 4 pair. Thanks for the solve!

  • This one took me just under 30 but it shouldn’t have. Started off strong and then got a bit stuck. Took some time to go through and review all my pencil marks and realized I’d missed some follow ups that made things crystal clear. This one was a nice treat after the last couple of days!

  • 0:38 you marked some pointing 8s but didn't follow up with marks in box 3. Because of that, you later found a 28 pair in box 3 even though you could have seen that the 8 was already placed lol. Didn't matter though, still solved it 5x faster than me. The key for me was finding that 57 pair in the bottom row. I play on the NYT site and can't center mark so I avoid that kind of penciling for as long as possible which makes it hard to find things like that.

  • At about 8:54 in your video you show the 24 pair that results in the 7 above. But it looks like there could also be a four in that same block as the 24’s where you have 58 only. Shouldn’t this be 458? Then the 7 is not mandatory. That’s where I got stuck.

    • If you watch from 8:14 you can see that I found a hidden 24 pair in r9 which caused that 24 pair in b7

  • Can I ask maybe you’ve answered before but why do you have the pencil marks to highlight in red when you place a digit, surely that’s a little easier as you can easily spot it. Either way it was a great solve.

    • Using the check pencilmarks feature is a conscious decision on my part because these videos are intended as walkthrough tutorials (despite being live solves). I don't want to miss something trivial and have that ruin the flow of teachable moments.
