  • In the bus fight scene, I actually liked how he kind of got his ass kicked while fighting all the drunk guys. Yes he’s supposed to be some special trained badass, but for being a movie, they did a really good job at creating a fight scene that would be realistic for one badass to go up against several guys at once who have weapons. He still beats the shit out of everyone but it was done in a realistic way that made the scene even more badass and showed how tough his character is.

    @BaldEagle76@BaldEagle762 жыл бұрын
    • I also liked to think, he was holding back at the first half, because he really didnt want to go back to his old life. And he only hoped for the fight, because he really need to went his anger, over almost killing the father to a really sick child. But he said screw it when they threw him out the window, and he went full past on them.

    • And he's also likely a little rusty. So combine rusty with a very enclosed space, multiple guys with weapons, and him possibly holding back at first as the guy below me says, and I think it makes a fair bit of sense.

    • Realism, in a movie where a guy crawls out of the trunk of a car that rolled and won a fist fight right after. Realism in a movie where anyone can pick up and continuously fire machine guns with perfect accuracy and no blowback or recoil. This movie spits in the face of reality just as much as any other Hollywood flick so it gets no points from me for realism.

      @pixelbomb97@pixelbomb972 жыл бұрын
    • That was a saving grace for the movie. It’s weird how cinema is going in spiral. We’ve had nigh invulnerable action heroes, and then came Die Hard, where John suffered through every enemy and was on the edge every time. Now we have something similar - action heroes can be visually hurt, but they rarely in danger of losing the battle. And then we have movie like Nobody. And as Russian I truly appreciate real Russian as a villain and real Russian language (for some weird reason even big-budget movies fuck that up on constant basis).

It doesn't matter how badass and trained you are, irl, one against five, where those five are fighting age and fit men, who might not be extremely trained, but they're russian mob so i'm guessing they have some grasp on the basics of fighting, and they're armed, you can be Francis Ngannou, but I don't think anyone would survive that fight. Plus, despite what hollywood keeps portraying, special forces soldiers aren't really all that trained in hand to hand. I mean, they are, but not to the level of a professional fighter or anything like that, because for some weird reason they spend more time training with guns and explosives than with fists, go figure... This isn't an attack on the genre, I love movies like john wick where he kicks everyone's butt, but one has to understand they are as fiction as a superhero movie. In a video that sins movies for being unrealistic, you can't sin a fight for being more realistic than usual. At most I would have sinned him getting up after a few of the blows he received.

    • The gun was cocked, re watch the scene. Yes. Cylinders around the cocked chamber is empty. But that doesn’t mean the cylinder that’s about to be fired isn’t. I own one of these guns. There’s no way your gonna be able to see down the barrel to see if a bullet is in it either. And no, I’m not going to attempt to see if it is possible out of common sense. That gun well off could be loaded. But in a situation like that where it’s a 50 50. You really gonna bet your life on that?

      @fullsendabeerforme2988@fullsendabeerforme29882 жыл бұрын
    • @@fullsendabeerforme2988 There is some confusion with the scene. When he first talks to her, the gun is not cocked. He can look down the cylinder at that time. Then she cocks the gun. Later in the scene, the gun is de-cocked. In the memory flash back, they make it seem like he sees the gun is not loaded when he sets up to swing the club. However, in the scene, he's already standing down before she turns to point the weapon at him again. Obviously there are some editing errors present. However, if we take the scene as is, he first can look down the cylinder before it's cocked. And again after she cocks it. Seeing it empty both times, he would know there isn't a round in the weapon. Watching the scene again actually strengthened my position. I appreciate it.

      @jefecristo6867@jefecristo68672 жыл бұрын
    • Most likely, in the flash back, as he goes up to swing on her, he remembers that the gun was empty from their first interaction, and that's why he stops, rather than the flash back showing the sequence in order of him starting to swing and then stopping when he sees the weapon is empty. This corrects the apparent continuity error.

      @adarkerstormishere@adarkerstormishere2 жыл бұрын
    • The whole “cats are mean” Internet thing is based on personal misunderstandings & is not objectively true. If a cat bites you, it isn’t in the mood to play with you or it thinks you’re both playing together-you can tell by how hard it bites you which one it is. The rational response is to observe the cat & get an idea of its moods so you can avoid bothering it in the future & being bitten. But instead people just whine that cats are mean because they aren’t open to being interacted with 24/7, or didn’t like someone in particular. Cats are loyal, affectionate, warm, & connected animals. They pick up on subtle things. They’re very clever & need to have stimulation like any dog would. Having plenty of recreational time with a cat, or items for the cat to interact with such as towers & toys, will lessen anxiety in a cat that’s showing increased outward aggression. It’s not mean-spirited-they’re cats! They don’t know how to handle pent-up energy, same as us. And cats need time to trust people. Some cats need less time than others, whereas other cats will need more time. I don’t know how that’s such a big deal for people who “love animals.” Not every animal is going to like or trust us right off the bat. They have their own impulses & emotions to contend with, & if they had a particularly tough time as a kitten, they won’t be trusting of strangers. Like I’d never own a dog. I’ve had really great relationships with dogs owned by my loved ones, & I love those dogs to death. But I could never own one, because their type of neediness is too much for me. A cat needs just as much, but in a different way, a way I’m able to give. I don’t judge dogs or treat them like they’re demons just because they’re not the right fit for me as a pet owner. I give them all the love I can because they deserve it. I just couldn’t own one. I don’t get how people walk away so resentful of cats when cats just have boundaries. Cats don’t always want to play when we do, don’t always want to be touched. If you can’t respect that, then don’t own one. If you can’t understand that, then don’t try to. Wave at cats from afar, I don’t know. Just don’t blame it on the cats. They don’t have a consciousness. You do. This one’s on you. 😂

    • @@Xannyphantom905 the john wick sequels are garbage and are lauded only by people who place fan affiliation ahead of honest assessment. If the sequels stood on their own without the original, grounded movie to anchor them they would be the biggest eyerolls ever.

  • The reason nobody shot him in the back as he exited the club is that an M18 Claymore has an effective kill range of 50m and a maximum kill range of 100m. You do not want to try your odds with that. Of course, the sin removed from the night club situation would have to be added back as he uses the claymore in melee range at the end of the movie and *ding* survives this (you already sinned that, but given what you obviously didn't know about claymores, I figure its worth at least one extra sin).

  • Y'know, I get people get butthurt about some of these videos, or just some of the sins themselves, but you know what's not a sin? That, at around 2:30, Jeremy says, "All soldiers are real soldiers." I may have been a cook in the military, but just like EVERY other enlisted service member, I was a soldier first, it is literally the first training you undergo. What the hell do people think BASIC TRAINING is for? Giving people uniforms and learning how to march? 😅🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️ We are soldiers because we are trained to be, it doesn't matter if you were infantry or a combat MOS, and while the status of "veteran" does depend on either time in service (for the Army National Guard, at least) or time served in a combat environment/deployment, I personally disagree with their process. Once you graduate basic, you're a soldier, you have successfully been taught how to carry out a combat mission, especially under strong leadership. No one can take that away from you, unless you catch a dishonorable, cause that would be you were acting MIGHTY unsoldierly

  • Love the movie. Didn't see a sin for the HK USP 45 with 9mm clearly stamped on the bolt. There's a theory that his memory was fuzzy, but as a gun guy if somebody does what hutch does,, he knows if it's a 9mm or .45.

  • Siamese cats aren't that bad. Demanding of attention, laying on top of you and waking you up to feed them is normal. I have 3. I come home and they demand their can dinner. They may go into the hero survives this cliche but unlike most heroes he looks like he's hurt bad and takes hits. Where most heroes walk away with maybe a bit of a scratch below the eye and a busted lip but the next time you see him he's all good.

  • I generally thought this movie was decent. There were two things that really stood out and bothered me though. When the annoying neighbor is talking about his old car he references the engine size in liters when he definitely should have used cubic inches. Also when Bob Odenkirk's character is talking about holding the guy at gunpoint when he was an auditor, he says he was using a 45 at the exact moment the camera zooms in on the slide of the gun with 9mm clearly written on it in big letters.
