24x40 Pole Barn Garage Build - 3 Days Start to Finish!

I needed some additional storage for project vehicles and toys. After researching how to build a pole barn and learning all the ways I could mess up getting everything level and square, I opted to hire professionals to do the job. It only took them 3 days, where as it would have taken me 3+ months.
Here's the entire build condensed into 7 minutes. Let me know if you have any questions and enjoy the video!
A few people have asked the price... $26,600 total after tax. $3,900 of the total was for excavation, stone fill & leveling. If I did not have the concrete floor poured, it would have been $5500 less.

  • I found the chapters in kzhead.infoUgkxYGamVaHfdHiPlAQaLa7zkwR02OKpGYDU to be very relevant to my project as I embarked on building my first ever structure from the ground up. I especially found this Ryan’s Shed Plans to be of great use when it came to building the roof. I was able to do all the cuts and installation by myself, with a little reference to this Ryan’s Shed Plans.

  • I'm not a fan of putting your posts in the concrete like they did. Eventually that wood will rot and need to be replaced. The price is pretty good. For the same money, you could have done a steel building. Steel beams and girders are much better than a pole barn system I built a 40x60 steel workshop in 12 days with one helper. No termites, no wood rot, no fire hazard. Another advantage of the steel system is you get 8" deep walls for better insulation and there are no trusses so you have more vertical room as well.

    @briangc1972@briangc19723 жыл бұрын
    • I don’t think they put the posts in the cement, but rather sat them atop of the solid cured concrete. Most Amish/Mennonites either go directly into the ground on dirt below the frost line, or pour the cement post and rest the 6x6 post atop that way there’s no worry for rot and you have a solid foundation.

      @DimagoDiesel@DimagoDiesel3 жыл бұрын
    • @@DimagoDiesel Yep, I have never liked setting wood posts in dirt, whether treated or not. Dig the holes, pour concrete footers to or above grade and set posts on top. Wood and dirt, over time, don't mix.

    • I know this is a year old comment but can you elaborate on ventilation gaps. I live in the south east and we have some bad hurricane seasons . This is our solution to protections of our cars

  • I wish I had your patience people can be so irritating at times. How much did this cost why did you pour floor after the posts will rot. Geez people leave this guy alone read before asking the same stupid questions. Why does he have to answer the same questions over and over. Like the old saying goes can't fix stupid.💯 Nice video thanks for sharing it Ryan 👍

  • Relief cuts should be made within 12 hrs of the pour, never the next day. The crack are already formed by the next day, you just cannot see them because the concrete has not begun to shrink.
