As a redstone person, I’m actually pretty excited to see grates and auto-crafting added to the game. Imagine having automated crafting for farms and a block that would allow liquids through but not mobs!

While I do think mob votes are unfair, I think it should be reworked instead of removed. Remember biome votes? That just determined the order that they’ll be updated, not which one will never be updated again.

Honestly the new grates and crafting tables really excite me, because it’s been a while since we had a new table and the grates would be so interesting for redstone builds. Also, the new spawner looks amazing! I can definitely see my friends and I going through a bunch of trials in survival, not to mention how the mob limit can be used in redstone for really interesting machines!

the main problem with the mob vote is that it forces different types of players to fight, using this vote as the example, it was basically a fight between builders (crab) And explorers (armadillo) which will always lead to disagreement and controversy. If the vote was between 3 mobs that had very similar uses I'm sure the votes would be better for the community.

I think that the mob vote was made pretty fairly in contrast with last year where the mob vote was skewed more towards the sniffer. All of this year's mobs provide a miniscule quality of life feature making them all equally useful, even though it's not that useful.

@@ZeroWildFyre Honestly, all the mobs this time kind of suck. They all have major flaws. Crab: I wanted this one, but the thing is, how much more building reach would it have given us? Probably nothing that good, and besides, when have you ever found a mangrove swamp in a genuine survival world? They're one of the rarest biomes in the game. Armadillo: Tell me, does anyone ACTUALLY use wolves to fight mobs? Sure, some people have one or two, but they never usually leave the base, nor are they even that useful. Besides, exactly how much defense will the wolves get from the armor? Similar to the crab, probably not that much. Penguin: This guy is cute but useless. They would only ever help you when you happen to be boating near an ice biome. How often does that happen? Sure it happens occasionally, but nobody's going to go out of their way to go to an ice biome just to go faster for a few seconds. Or you could kidnap one and bring him to your base to let him help you every time you leave in your boat. Then again, the effect would only last a few seconds unless he follows you, which if he does, he'll eventually leave and you'll have to waste your time kidnapping another one. In conclusion, Mojang should just add them all. They have no reason to add the mob vote anymore. They say it's to help them bring attention to their game and stay relevant and talked about, but come on, it's Minecraft. The most popular game of all time. They'll be fine.

one thing I love about Dan is that he takes the time to care for his kids. He totally could have just not put his kids to bed and watched Minecraft live, but he chose to take care of them and watch it later. While it is unfortunate that the mob vote didn’t go how a majority of us planned, Mojang stated that all mobs will get in eventually when the time is right! I think the armadillo represents this update perfectly! The crab could be introduced at a later date with a beach/island update for example! The beaches are pretty boring in Minecraft. It’d be cool to get a small update with palm trees and coconuts! AND, have the crabs :)

with the addition of the auto crafter, the one farm that will benefit the most from it is a gold farm. Since they drop gold nuggets you can collect those, put them into an auto crafter which crafts then into ingots and put them into chests OR turn the ingots into blocks so you can store even more

I can’t be the only one excited for this update. Usually I barely ever use redstone in my survival worlds, but the crafter will turn the game into satisfactory, I’ll actually learn redstone. And the new dungeon area is definitely hiding other things they didn’t want to show us. New mini boss possibly. I actually think this could be a good update.

@@ResiksimIt’s been years, and the frog is the one of the only things that’s been added since then, the more votes we have the more content and mobs not in the game build up, eventually it will get to a point that if they actually want to add the mobs and biomes that lost the votes, it would take more time and effort and would probably make them even less likely to add the them, unless they’ve been secretly been developing them that is, but I doubt it

At least Mojang puts mobs that lost into consideration for future updates. This apparently happened with the frog (I started playing Minecraft again 2 years ago, so I didn't really know the mob votes). So we could possibly see future updates with mobs that lost previous votes.

Frogs were part of a biome vote, and biome vote losers were confirmed to come in a later update, unlike the mob vote losers where theres only a possibility that they'll return

the crab claw would be the most useful i mean do we seriously need armor for wolfs? In my opinion i don’t think any of the options are that good cause the penguin would just make boats go faster and boats are already fast enough to be honest, the armadillo will only give armor to dogs and the crab claw can place blocks really far away but can’t break them💀

I have an idea, probably won't happen but it would be nice. Considering the Ice Blocks indicate a Stray spawn, why not add the Iceolliger to the roster as an additional encounter, maybe as a boss or just another mob that spawns to put people on edge, it would be the ideal time to bring it in.

If you think about it if you're going to do a mass mob update what's the best way to see which mobs people really loved and which ones were not so great. Keep all of the ones people wish won and add them later. Also Mojang has a list prepared for potential mobs for updates to biomes in the future.

This is what I think should be happening as a guarantee. Keep the current system. The one mob that wins gets added (obviously), but next year, you have to add the second one. That way the majority of people that voted, at least have their opinions added to the game and feel represented. Also, that guarantees that every year, two new mobs will be added. It stops the tension, or at least reduces it. As for the 3rd mob, don't bother with it. It always sucks or just adds nothing significant to the game. Besides, there's a reason it was last, which probably suggests players don't want it in the game. With that functionality anyway.

One of the biggest issues is that there’s so much we didn’t know about the effect and items added. We don’t know how far the carb arm places blocks, does it break blocks as well, if Dog Armor is added can we make other types of Dog armor from Iron, Copper, Gold, Diamond or from Turtle Shute, how big of boost does the penguin speed provide. There’s so much we didn’t know that we wish we knew. It would have been better to be a periodic release of a couple months until the big update.

i think for people to remain happy with the mob votes there should be a "evolving world" update where the unreleased mobs get added in then a part 2 where there are adaptations to the game that impliments new thing to explore the world for more things for the new mobs but dan summed it up perfectly older players bought the games years ago and yet were still getting free contents with features that you can explore for not even a fraction of new games releasing price

It has happened before where a lost mob vote was added into the game with the frog and chest boat. In the 2019 "mob" (it was really biomes) vote there was the Badlands/vulture, swamp/frog (and chest boat), and mountains/goat, which we got. But then in 1.19 we got frogs and chest boats in the same update.

I made a Minecraft world with my friends where we made kingdoms and empires. My kingdom was made from the remnants of the lost Crab Clan, which was a band of warriors that worshipped crabs. But this clan was destroyed by a rival group, and to add insult to injury they had hunted all of the crabs. Some survivors had fled to reform what they had lost, and eventually they built a kingdom. I was one of these survivors, and soon became king. I dedicated the kingdom to finding any remaining crabs after the extinction. For the longest time this was supposed to be a fruitless endeavor to build lore in the kingdom, but when I heard that crabs were in the mob vote, I was excited. I thought that maybe I could finally reform the Crab Clan. Then the armadillo won...

@@ThyBigCheddar frogs did not lose a mob vote. They were never in a mob vote. They were in a biome vote, and that does not reasonably count, despite their attempt to argue that it does. All biomes in the biome vote were going to be updated eventually, because all biomes will eventually need an update. It’s only logical to keep frogs with that. What isn’t logical is to not take this clear opportunity to add an ACTUAL mob vote loser, and show the community that they’re telling the truth when they say the losers have any noticeable chance of returning.

While I do think mob votes are unfair, I think it should be reworked instead of removed. Remember biome votes? That just determined the order that they’ll be updated, not which one will never be updated again.

Honestly the new grates and crafting tables really excite me, because it’s been a while since we had a new table and the grates would be so interesting for redstone builds. Also, the new spawner looks amazing! I can definitely see my friends and I going through a bunch of trials in survival, not to mention how the mob limit can be used in redstone for really interesting machines!
Would anyone else love a weather and seasons update with seasonal growing and animals requiring different levels of shelter on the update after this one? (I think it would be so cool and super fun to play around with)
the main problem with the mob vote is that it forces different types of players to fight, using this vote as the example, it was basically a fight between builders (crab) And explorers (armadillo) which will always lead to disagreement and controversy. If the vote was between 3 mobs that had very similar uses I'm sure the votes would be better for the community.

I think that the mob vote was made pretty fairly in contrast with last year where the mob vote was skewed more towards the sniffer. All of this year's mobs provide a miniscule quality of life feature making them all equally useful, even though it's not that useful.

Probably nothing that good, and besides, when have you ever found a mangrove swamp in a genuine survival world? They're one of the rarest biomes in the game. Armadillo: Tell me, does anyone ACTUALLY use wolves to fight mobs? Sure, some people have one or two, but they never usually leave the base, nor are they even that useful. Besides, exactly how much defense will the wolves get from the armor? Similar to the crab, probably not that much. Penguin: This guy is cute but useless. They would only ever help you when you happen to be boating near an ice biome. How often does that happen? Sure it happens occasionally, but nobody's going to go out of their way to go to an ice biome just to go faster for a few seconds. Or you could kidnap one and bring him to your base to let him help you every time you leave in your boat. Then again, the effect would only last a few seconds unless he follows you, which if he does, he'll eventually leave and you'll have to waste your time kidnapping another one. In conclusion, Mojang should just add them all. They have no reason to add the mob vote anymore. They say it's to help them bring attention to their game and stay relevant and talked about, but come on, it's Minecraft. The most popular game of all time. They'll be fine.

While it is unfortunate that the mob vote didn’t go how a majority of us planned, Mojang stated that all mobs will get in eventually when the time is right! I think the armadillo represents this update perfectly! The crab could be introduced at a later date with a beach/island update for example! The beaches are pretty boring in Minecraft. It’d be cool to get a small update with palm trees and coconuts! AND, have the crabs :)

with the addition of the auto crafter, the one farm that will benefit the most from it is a gold farm. Since they drop gold nuggets you can collect those, put them into an auto crafter which crafts then into ingots and put them into chests OR turn the ingots into blocks so you can store even more

I can’t be the only one excited for this update. Usually I barely ever use redstone in my survival worlds, but the crafter will turn the game into satisfactory, I’ll actually learn redstone. And the new dungeon area is definitely hiding other things they didn’t want to show us. New mini boss possibly. I actually think this could be a good update.

@@ResiksimIt’s been years, and the frog is the one of the only things that’s been added since then, the more votes we have the more content and mobs not in the game build up, eventually it will get to a point that if they actually want to add the mobs and biomes that lost the votes, it would take more time and effort and would probably make them even less likely to add the them, unless they’ve been secretly been developing them that is, but I doubt it

After the armadillo winner was announced i was in great depression cause the crab lost I legit cried in my room for 30 minutes straight
I don't really play vanilla minecraft but I am interested in how modders will expand on the Trial Chambers and whatever to be announced other features.
I'm really excited to see what people do with the trial spawner. Especially since I've heard that what it spawns is based primarily on NBT data. Imagine the kinds of maps and custom bosses people could make using it!!

the crab claw would be the most useful i mean do we seriously need armor for wolfs? In my opinion i don’t think any of the options are that good cause the penguin would just make boats go faster and boats are already fast enough to be honest, the armadillo will only give armor to dogs and the crab claw can place blocks really far away but can’t break them💀
I have an idea, probably won't happen but it would be nice. Considering the Ice Blocks indicate a Stray spawn, why not add the Iceolliger to the roster as an additional encounter, maybe as a boss or just another mob that spawns to put people on edge, it would be the ideal time to bring it in.
Also copper/ tuff golems would fit in so well. Who knows, maybe this is the update that they bring a bunch of the old mob votes back.
Slime can also spawn, which I think it was surrounded by moss blocks. But it could be surrounded by grass blocks as well. Not sure which one.
They should definitely add the Copper Golem to trial chambers, it just makes sense with the copper updates

If you think about it if you're going to do a mass mob update what's the best way to see which mobs people really loved and which ones were not so great. Keep all of the ones people wish won and add them later. Also Mojang has a list prepared for potential mobs for updates to biomes in the future.
Or maybe they should just add all of their past ideas from previous mob votes into the game already, instead of dropping those ideas altogether? I think that would be a far better option for them instead of just introducing these amazing ideas, and not doing anything with them

This is what I think should be happening as a guarantee. Keep the current system. The one mob that wins gets added (obviously), but next year, you have to add the second one. That way the majority of people that voted, at least have their opinions added to the game and feel represented. Also, that guarantees that every year, two new mobs will be added. It stops the tension, or at least reduces it. As for the 3rd mob, don't bother with it. It always sucks or just adds nothing significant to the game. Besides, there's a reason it was last, which probably suggests players don't want it in the game. With that functionality anyway.

My problem with the mob vote(especially this year) is they basically gave us three mobs that we LITERALLY NEED for a more fun and better minecraft experience and they made us choose between them. We're basically never going to see a crab or a penguin in minecraft and that just deeply saddens me

The only reason I wanted the armadillo, I'm not ashamed to admit it, is the doggo armor. If not, the crab would have been my vote as an avid builder.
But what kills dogs? They drown themselves and they burn themselves and they jump off cliffs. Does the armadillo prevent this? No.

One of the biggest issues is that there’s so much we didn’t know about the effect and items added. We don’t know how far the carb arm places blocks, does it break blocks as well, if Dog Armor is added can we make other types of Dog armor from Iron, Copper, Gold, Diamond or from Turtle Shute, how big of boost does the penguin speed provide. There’s so much we didn’t know that we wish we knew. It would have been better to be a periodic release of a couple months until the big update.

i think for people to remain happy with the mob votes there should be a "evolving world" update where the unreleased mobs get added in then a part 2 where there are adaptations to the game that impliments new thing to explore the world for more things for the new mobs but dan summed it up perfectly older players bought the games years ago and yet were still getting free contents with features that you can explore for not even a fraction of new games releasing price
This would/could also help with biomes that haven't been updated in so long.
According to Minecraft's Twitter, the final poll was Armadillo - 42.3% Crab - 32.5% Penguin - 25.2% Alongside my personal favorite mob winning, (sorry Dan and other crabs) I'm very excited for 1.21 & can't wait to see what else Mojang adds throughout development

The reaction Dan made of the armadillo is me when penguin lost
It has happened before where a lost mob vote was added into the game with the frog and chest boat. In the 2019 "mob" (it was really biomes) vote there was the Badlands/vulture, swamp/frog (and chest boat), and mountains/goat, which we got. But then in 1.19 we got frogs and chest boats in the same update.

I wanna see the unused giant zombie as a boss in the trial chambers. It would not only be fitting, but it would FINALLY have a use after all these years.
Some people voted the armadillo to get more life into the savanna. It really needed something special.
I made a Minecraft world with my friends where we made kingdoms and empires. My kingdom was made from the remnants of the lost Crab Clan, which was a band of warriors that worshipped crabs. But this clan was destroyed by a rival group, and to add insult to injury they had hunted all of the crabs. Some survivors had fled to reform what they had lost, and eventually they built a kingdom. I was one of these survivors, and soon became king. I dedicated the kingdom to finding any remaining crabs after the extinction. For the longest time this was supposed to be a fruitless endeavor to build lore in the kingdom, but when I heard that crabs were in the mob vote, I was excited. I thought that maybe I could finally reform the Crab Clan. Then the armadillo won...

@@ThyBigCheddar frogs did not lose a mob vote. They were never in a mob vote. They were in a biome vote, and that does not reasonably count, despite their attempt to argue that it does. All biomes in the biome vote were going to be updated eventually, because all biomes will eventually need an update. It’s only logical to keep frogs with that. What isn’t logical is to not take this clear opportunity to add an ACTUAL mob vote loser, and show the community that they’re telling the truth when they say the losers have any noticeable chance of returning.
