As a ten year old I got my first real fishing lure, Rapala, and I’m using 40 years later. I have built up my tackle box with adding solely Rapala lures over the years and I’ve probably got every color and type made. I also still have the original box and papers for each lure. Those cardboard boxes must be another invention by Rapala because they never wear out. This is a company that checks every lure before it leaves the facility. They have a sense of quality and dedication. They know that is something that Business Think-tanks and brainstorming ideas about what well make money isn’t going to work. They make a high quality product and have always been very inexpensive in the store. Balsa wood is still used. One could even say that the lures are handmade but Rapala sells for a fraction of what they are worth. This has been happening for 100 years. It reminds me of what American companies were doing when I was ten, 40 years ago.

To be fair, I’ve tested them and they bomb compared to the Shakespeare Big S or the Rublex Ondex No.6 spinner. The catch rates are considerably lower and that’s testing them for 1000’s of hours alongside other lures. A twitched dead bait surpasses all artificials, especially in terms of successful hook ups and fish landed. The trebles also hurt the fish and are horrible to unhook, compared to a single Aberdeen hook. I also had a Rapala scale which stopped functioning after a few weeks of use. I received no response from their customer services, so I refused to buy their products ever again. You can’t trust a company, who have been shown to not support you when things go wrong.

@@seeitpickitbinit2510you see things much different then me I have been using them since the mid 1960 they worked well and they work very well now in 2020. That's more then I can say for most.
@victorremick97214 жыл бұрын
Victor Remick I should imagine different countries might vary in the fish’s lure preference, but Pike, Perch and Chub in the UK, tend to be less likely to take a Rapala. It’s not just their performance, I think that they are bad because they add to plastic pollution in our waterways and because they are too expensive for what they are. They are pretty though, haaa.

@gavinarcher93894 жыл бұрын
Rapala the Greatest minnow style made lure ever made! I remember in the 60's when they first caught on in the upper Midwest, they didn't sell them they rented them and you had leave a $20.00 deposit and your drivers license! And fishermen still kept them!
@michaelbyrne8860 Жыл бұрын
In the Boundry Waters of Minnesota over 50 years ago, I met my first Rapala. My crafty mother took some visual cues and made her own versions so we could go after big pike and walleyes. The local outfitter was renting the Rapala baits for, if I remember correctly, $10 bucks per day plus a $20 deposit in case you lost it. Mom's knock off was probably almost as effective and I doubt my dad was ever prouder of her when he landed some nice pike on the cheap. Sawbill Canoe Outfitters north of Toftee, Mn was our favorite place for several summers.

Years ago I bought a freshwater Rapala lure out of a discount junk bin at a Walmart in Bentoville Arkansas for a dollar and sum. That freshwater lure turned out to be the best saltwater lure I ever had. That lure landed speckled seatrout shortly after hitting the waters off the pier on the Gulf of Mexico in Riviera TX. My youngest brother took the old lure out of my shed one day after asking me for some mono for his fishing rod and lost it due to not trying it properly. I was so upset and since then I have yet to find any lure as good as that one.

my favorite type of lures starting off fishing as a kid. love this brand
no wonder the rapla is so good out here in the northwest.. It was made and designed by a lumberjack! I will think more about my rapala lure how it was made and even to saying it right from this moment on.. well done.. I have used rapalas for about 50 years now thanks Laurie!
Good video! Rapala lures are some of my favorite lures to use.
I don't fish with my childhood Raps anymore, too many memories to loose one!
Rapala is a POWERFUL and very influential fishing brand known all over the fishing world for decades! I LOVE Rapala lures.
I'm not very old, I'm 36, but I have been fishing for 30 years and when I'm not catching fish, I always get in my tackle box and pull out a Rapala. They have ALWAYS been my favorite lures, of ALL kinds.
Congratulations! Im from Brazil and Rapala is my favorite lures. The best one in my region is the Shadow Rap and Rip Stop ,i use to fish Peacock bass.Keep up the good work!!!!!!!Thanks
Great in Australia to for rivers and creeks just about any fish will eat them Lost a few tho 😭
The ripstops are absolute killers
I was out shopping with my wife the other day. As the basket went down the aisle I reached over and tossed an F-11 in there. My old stand by.
THE MOST PRODUCTIVE LURE IN YOUR BOX. AND THERE KNIFES ARE THE BEST I HAVE EVER USED.
I LOVE their filet knives.... The Fins don't mess around when it comes to their knives. Highly flexible that hold their memory and sharp as razors
SEEITPICKITBINIT yeah you don’t sound biased at all.
i love rapala lures and now i love them more
rapala is my favorite bait.. i use them all the time
Wow makes me appreciate the craft so much more. Gonna order a few online
I cant wait for my first rapalas to arrive! 🥳
Beautiful,, nice to see how they are made & the story behind them,, I have always loved my Rapala's...!!!
19:55 This is the best part of fishing.
🍻🐟🐟🐟🐟
What a great show. Thanks from The Ky Woodsman for taking us with you!
Wow, what a way to live. Great video. It’s nice to see where some of my lures come from.
Love the deep huskies for walleye! Killers
One of my favorite lures of all time
Great video great production work great information and thank you rapala. I just bought a hj10 silver tonight that I can't wait to use here in Western lower Michigan
I really enjoyed watching that video. Thanks from 🇬🇧
Rapala lures have always been my favorite and #1 go-to lure for any fish and situation, both in Saltwater and Freshwater fishing since I was 7 years old.... I am now 45, and I still prefer Rapala lures over everything else.... there is nothing else out there that can match Rapala's style
Rapala the Greatest minnow style made lure ever made! I remember in the 60's when they first caught on in the upper Midwest, they didn't sell them they rented them and you had leave a $20.00 deposit and your drivers license! And fishermen still kept them!
Love to have all that tech at my fingertips. I’m sure when guys start working there they are very motivated.
Jointed Shad Rap are my all time fav. Crappie, Bass, Walleye, Pike, Muskie, even Cats. Most of the trout I've caught were on the jointed floater on a slow retrieve. Since I stopped using live bait these and twister tails are literally all I buy.
Shad rap has and always will be my favorite bait
My favorite Rapala is the deep runner 5, that little thing catches fish right an left!
My favourite Rapala is a J11 diving lure for Sea Bass. I really like the action and quality.
About 15 years ago I buy one Rapala 6 inch in length and 40 Ringgit each , I have to work for 1 day to buy 1 piece , it so expensive but it worth it , it's colour red head white body , with one bait caught 4 big fish total weight not less than 25kg , I from Malaysia 🙌
It's so good to see a success history made of hard work. I love rapala cd Mag lures, they are quite expensive here in Brazil, but the performance compensates the price.
One of the most iconic fishing lures of all time. Mepps would be the other one. Thank You Rapala for the original floating f9 in Hot Steel, my last two PB Smallmouth have came to hand with that lure. I am searching for other models in that color now, please do not discontinue Hot Steel. Thank You
"We can drink some beer... and wait :)" MY GUY

I've easily got 50 Rapala lures in my tackle room right now, and the need to order that many more for upcoming walleye season.
rapala legacy nice video love to see how sum peoples dreams come thru hard work.!
I had to watch this several times it was so interesting !🎣👍
Thank you Rapala you have enhanced my life for many years. ☝️
I really enjoyed this..thanks..!
I was so upset and since then I have yet to find any lure as good as that one.
sin duda la mejor marca de señuelos rapala saludos desde Temuco, Chile 🇨🇱 región de la Araucanía 🎣🐟🐟🐟
Beautiful.
Rapala perch floater is what I caught my biggest smallmouth bass on.
Also Storm ! i love it
Ive caught most of my top water bass on gold and black f.9 f.11 and f.13 awesome bait
My favorite lure company right here ❤
His sun tan on his face at the end was perfect lmao
Great wrapping at the end ahahahahah Fantastic Rapala! Love theme
Caught my first fish, it was a Pike on a Rapala jointed minnow. That was a deadly lure that caught many, many fish.
There are cheap made in china knock-off lures available, but I have found the quality, durability, and action of the Rapala to be worth the price always!
best lure in the world, best factory ❤
Great production 11 outta 10
This is very fascinating especially me as a rapala fan
Rapala in SC all day. Started using them wayyyyy back in the 60's. Still rule my box. (Boxes) lol
初めまして、日本からです。ナンバーワンのラパラですね!素晴らしい!
A show to my taste. Thank you very much
I've got a blue rapala that my grandfather gave me years ago, he always swore by it and I always keep it in my tackle box because I know it works
I used a floating one for many years that I have sadly lost now. A floating one that worked like gangbusters. So many trouts were caught with that thing. We also had a sinking one that sadly did not work so great.
Wow amazing rapala,I know now.thanks for sharing good video.godbless @Ricky's TV
I loved seeing the workers in the distribution center
Anyone else use the Ultralight Minnow for trout in streams? They are killer!
CJ Duran Outdoors the silver f3 minnow is a trout killer
CJ Duran Outdoors do you also have the rapala countdown 3 cm
Thought I was the only one. If you can cope with snag city, it triggers like no other.

Never tell your fishing secrets....now I'm going to be catching trout in streams.
Never knew even the best baits from Rapala are made of wood those baits are sooo good a tot a pike on my first Rapala cast!👍
I have my grandfathers and my dads old Rapala's. They include a couple of Wobbler's and Magnum's.
An awesome brand. I have many.
Speaking about Rapala it means to speak about the history of fishing with lures, Rapala has been the first and every real fishermen should have a special place set aside for Rapala lures in own heart.
Awesome history lesson!!
This was a treat.
Very interesting video. Thank you.
I never realized until now that I've been pronouncing Rapala wrong all these years, btw no mention of the fillet knives? Growing up that was a coming of age gift for every boy in the neighborhood!
Dude...Rapala replied!
You didn’t, he did
Nice lures
Great vid, thank you..
@20:23. The Rapala DT lures are silent killers for Bass! I caught a nice little 17 inch Largemouth Bass on that EXACT SAME LURE (and color)! It was the Firetiger Rapala DT-14. (DT = Dives To)
