  • It sucked to be in the military in the time before the 1st Gulf war and I suppose during and after Vietnam. People loathed the military. I came home from from Iraq and everything changed, people were thanking you for your service and buying drinks, etc. Just weird how stuff changes and how Hollywood tried to spin things.

    • It was all because of the circumstances, in WWII we were attacked and people were signing up to go fight and soldiers came back victorious from defeating this great evil, so of course everybody loved the military and the servicemen. Then came Vietnam, we were fighting communisms and other interests but there really was no justification to be fighting there, on top of that people were being forced to go instead of volunteering, the atrocities of the war were displayed on TV back home and people were demanding the war to be stopped, soldiers came back "defeated" and people blamed them for the war and crimes instead of blaming the politicians in charge. It was not until 9/11 happened when we were attacked again and the people rallied behind the military again but it was never the same as WWII.

  • This movie based on true story of Mr Buford Hayse Pusser (December 12, 1937 - August 21, 1974) was the sheriff of McNairy County, Tennessee, from 1964 to 1970, and constable of Adamsville from 1970 to 1972. Pusser is known for his virtual one-man war on moonshining, prostitution, gambling, and other vices along the Mississippi-Tennessee state line. His efforts have inspired several books, songs,[1] and movies, and a TV series. He was also a wrestler known as "Buford the Bull" in the Mid-South. ………… source frm : Wikipedia

    • @@wanderingwade8877 basically, this movie wasn't based on the original, the original was loosely based on a true story, and Pusser got it a whole lot worse than The Rock did, there wasn't a square inch on Pusser's body below the neck that wasn't covered in scars from a single knife attack after he noticed the deliberate cheating at an illegal casino, that, and the sheriff's, and local justice system's corruption, Pusser decided to run for sheriff of McNairy County, Tennessee, by the time he left office, most of the corruption was gone.

    • By the time they started principal photography for the second movie, Buford Pusser was dead, I believe it was a car accident. Official reports stated he took a curve too fast, causing him to go off the road, the car was destroyed by fire, and he died of severe internal injuries.

  • I met the real man (Buford Pusser) whose true story this adaptation was based on about a month before he was killed. It was at a drive-in in Georgia after a viewing of the original Walking Tall movie. I was just a kid and had a cast on my leg. My mother wanted him to autograph the cast that was on my leg, but we couldn't find a pen that would write on it. So, he autographed the ticket to the event instead. While I love the Rock's version as a good action movie, the original Walking Tall is much closer to the truth of the actual events and worth watching just to get an idea what the real man went through.

  • I have an idea that may help bring more viewers to each of your channels sir. Your recaps are great and provide the perfect opportunity for people discover unique movies both new and old that many may have never given the chance if they were to come across it on their preferred streaming service, or any other reason one might not come across a specific film. Personally, as a non-public film critic, i enjoy the best sense of reality a writer, director, cast, and overall team working on any film can provide not just as individual pieces, but as a whole. I feel that there are certain details in your recaps that lack certain details that could create an even better impact on the viewer of the review drawing them in even further. For example, in this specific recap, after you mentioned the main character being tortured by having being cut all over his body, I got to thinking, why he didn't bleed out instead of waking up on the side of the road after being left for dead. After quick a series of deductions I concluded that the answer to my question relied on a smaller detail that went unprovided in order to provoke the sense of reality that a lot of people simply can't go without when watching films (most especially films that are produced in Hollywood). Like I said, the smallest can details make every experience so much more impactful, especially if those tiny details are highlighted in an impressionable manner. Just a bit of constructive criticism, I love what you are doing and I wish the most success for you that could possibly be obtained out of all of this hard work.... Keep positive energy in your heart no matter what happens in this life.

  • This the first film that i have seen where Dwayne Johnson get a role as a mixed black dude. All other major films I've seen him act in shows a character of Latin descent or racially ambiguous roles (btw there's NOTHING wrong with casting according what image the production needs) I'm just simply pointing this out as something interesting to me 😊 I think it's a cool story and would probably give it a watch
