3:25 Me sitting here with my iPad mini 4 like yes I am those crazy people who will keep it until it falls apart
Me too. It feels like the reaching maximum satisfaction
As a student this ipad seems like a steal imo
Honestly same. I’m a first year student, and I’m seriously considering it. But I’m a sucker for big screens and so there is definitely a temptation to save for the 12.9 inch
Its such a great nexus of functionality and price.
@@pureradio5655 The 10.9 inch screen is massive. Any bigger wod be overkill
@Adam’s cars and stuff 3 Nope, you obviously don't know what the word "everyone" means.
@Adam’s cars and stuff 3 and your "correction" is the opposite of a correction, because it won't be a steal for all of the 7.9 billion people that live on Earth.
I have been watching many iPad reviews and feel uncertain which iPad to choose for my main productivity device that support my MacBook. This video finally convinced me to stick with the best option, Air V
Everytime I see a video of this iPad, I fall in love with it more and more. I currently have the iPad Air 3 for a few years now and I'm thinking about trading it in for the iPad Air 5. It looks amazing! And that blue color, OMG!!!!!
Hi Gary. Thanks for the insights. I long ago realized the iPad is a special-purpose device. It may not match Final Cut for video or Win Word for word crunching but it's superb for photo editing with Photos and Lightroom, and wonderful for music practice with ForScore. While the Air looks great, I recently got a 2nd Gen iPad Pro 12.9 w/256GB and cellular in great shape for $500. Not M1, but it has a deliriously great screen and meets my needs.
Thanks for sharing. I appreciate the Air 5 but I recently went with the 11” Pro in a purchase. I am a huge Universal Control user. Blessings on your day!
I’m loving mine, I just got my iPad Air 5 in pink with the Apple Pencil yesterday it’s a really good device and would recommend
i’ve been having difficulties to choose an ipad, I can say this video definitely helped me
I just bought one for my mom for Mother’s Day to replace her 2017 model, I’m sure she’ll love it!! 😊
Thanks for the review,I plan to buy the iPad air 5 so this was really useful,Thanks!
Waiting on my iPad Air 5 to come in any day now, upgrading from an iPad 6th gen! Getting excited!
I just ordered the base model from Best Buy, open box, for $454. Excellent condition. Can’t wait to get it.
Nice video. I for one, have literally created over one hundred videos on an iPad 2019 model (yes, the entry level iPad, not the pro model), and I must say, the iPad (regardless whether it is an air or a pro, or a normal ipad) is very much capable for video creation. I use Focos Live, iMovie and Luma Fusion, the only difference between the standard iPad that I use compared to the higher end model is the rendering time. But other than that, it works great. I realized that I use my iPad far more often than my 2020 Mac Book Pro for everything. It is also worth noting that music production is more easier on the iPad compared to the Mac, atleast for an amateur musician like me.
Just got the air 5 in blue I absolutely love it and your videos thank you for all the tips and advice
That's awesome! That blue looks incredible this year.
same here tho the order time is forever lol
Awesome video. Very informative and helpful
I picked up the Air and my mother did too. They’re great tablets but the build quality left a it to be desired. The slightest bit of pressure showed pools on the display and the body tends to creak. Switched it out for the Pro instead.
I finally caved and started using apple products. It started with a refurbished pro laptop which I had no clue how to use (mainly using gaming PCS) but… I started to fall in love with it. So fast and no glitching crap. Then it was the iPhone…. And now 😅 I realize how I baby this laptop and don’t want to be taking it everywhere potentially breaking it. I think using an iPad for leaving the house and how easy it would be is a great idea
Thanks for the recommendation! I will buy it soon lol.
i agree, not everyone needs a hybrid device. As someone who uses a macbook pro already, I want a tablet that could complement my macbook well (universal control/sidecar), is powerful and future proof enough for my hobbies(drawing, design), note-taking and planning and isn't too expensive. the ipad air 5 is the best option for my use case. Great video that considers the avg consumer's pov!
Not everyone around the world has luxury to keep both MacBook and iPad lol and also keep upgrading them. I have seen people using those cheap Samsung tablets .there are some people who only spend as necessary. Personally I'm not fond of cheap. It's a tough game for them if they want an iPad or a windows laptop . So people usually get a decent laptop I think .
The tab s8 doesn't have to be used as a hybrid?
As someone, who mostly takes notes, deals with the document and have the leisure usage limited to watching the KZhead or Netflix, I totally enjoy this iPad and how smoothly it works
I’ve got the Mac mini and I just bought this. I think it’s so cool I can be at the air port with my iPad but if I want a desk top feel I can connect to my Mac mini. I don’t mind the power cord because most public places have outlets.
SOLD! This video was very helpful… thanks!
Thanks for making such an informative video. I am planning to buy an iPad soon. I've never owned Apple products and I want to get one mainly for productivity and video editing (not a pro here, but just want to get better at it). Would you recommend the iPad Air M1 256gb over the iPad pro 11 M2 128gb? I want to get the best value for that price range and I am uncertain if I should go with higher storage (air) or better performance (pro).
Hi Gary. It‘s a bit out of topic, but could you make a video about the ESR Rebound? It‘s a kind of cheap Magic Keyboard. I would like to hear your opinion about it.
I have this iPad but I primarily use it to study for school, Netflix, and internet surfing. It’s why I didn’t go pro. I have before and it’s overkill for what I use it for. I’m not going any editing with it but I want the best specs at a reasonable price, and since the air 5 is pretty almost as powerful as a pro (from what I’ve been reading) it was a no brainer for me.
thanks for the video just bought mine now. Looking forward to playing around with it.
How is it going did you get the WiFi only also did you get the pencil
@@tichaonanhlangano1426 I bought the Wi-Fi and sim Card version. Unfortunately I don’t have the pencil yet, I do use it on a daily base for Business. Loving it. Unfortunately my expenses shifted to my new place LOL recently the roof collapsed in geezer overflowed. all happened about a week ago so my attention and focus has been on that.
@@defiantwolf4582how the battery backup
I like your videos! Great job! 🏆 Would u like to give me more info about the material I see on your studio wall? The sound is so nature… thanks!
I know you've touched on it a little in this video and you've already done a comparison video with the Air 4, but do you think you'll also do a more comprehensive comparison between the Air 5 and Samsung tab s8? I'm so conflicted between these tablets. I was initially set on getting the Air 5 (mainly due to the long support I'd get since I was hoping to get a tablet I'd use for a very long time) but then I came across a deal for the S8 that came with a free keyboard cover (and pen). The 128GB storage is also very tempting.
Hey are u satisfied with ur s8 tablet now. Or u regretting now that i should have purcahsed ipad air.....plz reply im having same confusion....
Being one of those guys who hangs on to tech until it falls apart, I got the iPad Air 5 to replace my iPad Air 2 from 2015. With the folio keyboard, it has basically replaced my MacBook Air from 2015 as well - even though that laptop STILL works better and faster than any windows laptop I’ve ever used. I got the Apple Pencil, and am still trying to figure out how to work it into my daily routine, but overall, this iPad Air 5 exceptional. Thanks for the reviews and the tips and tricks.
tf what window laptops u using lol
@@qifry5367 It's a work laptop. Not a gaming
I am still using my air 2 and hold on to devices as well. What GB did you get?
Did you buy the cellular + wifi option (799$) or the wifi option (599$)
yo I'm the same as you, and I'm thinking of buying this one for my art creation while traveling. But it was a loooong time ago that I used any apple product. So can you tell me: Is apple products still not compartible with other computers, so as not even able to transfer files from one to the other with a cable? I wish they were.
I’m one of those people who keeps tech until they totally fall apart lol (still use my 16gb iPad 2 for PDF reading today).
I agree with you those are great valid points on why you should buy the iPad Air 5.
I have the iPad Pro M1 and my biggest complaint about the device seems to also apply to the current iPad Air. The m1 is complete overkill for iPad os. I can’t help but think that A15 might have been a better SOC for a high end tablet since it is even more efficient than the M1 and wouldn’t feel any less powerful in an iPad. As a side note: I love Universal control. I use it for running a DND game where my players are all virtual from their homes around the world. It’s amazing. I love using the iPad to manage the battle map for that game.
I just purchased one and it will arrive in June. I hoping I will love it.
I have an iMac as my main desktop device. For a portable device you would recommend pairing it with an iPad instead of a MacBook?
I like the ESR magnetic keyboard cases for the iPad better than I do the Magic Keyboard.
Watching this video in my new ipad air 5. Fantastic device for video watching and presentation, pdf watching...
Can you do a video of tricks and features that a person like myself is new to the iPad world . I just got mines today .. but I’m looking at it like .. mmmmm have to be more to it 😊
Wish I saw this sooner lol I got the iPad 10th Gen because it was also my first time using an iPad. I use my iPad everyday and specially for journaling & editing videos when necessary. I’m considering switching to the air
Have it, love it. Main negative is that I will need to purchase the new MacBook Air mostly in order to do just one thing so I can use external storage for my iPad Air 5 with only 256 Gig RAM. Apple displays an external drive connected to the iPad Air, so I purchased my IPad Air 5 and an external storage so I could save any number of things like full size digital photos, sheet music and more. Why can’’t Apple or some company introduce a just plug it in and play for the tablets???
Question is should i get the iPad Air 5 64gb vs new IPad Pro 128gb considering the storage & price? Will be using it solely for business purpose & simple educational video editing for ig & tiktok. Will it be sufficient to get the 64gb but along with external flash drive..?
Just bought the iPad Air. I wanted something like a laptop without having to buy an actual laptop. Thanks for confirming this was the right purchase! 🙌🏽
Do you have backplate problems? I keep seeing comments about that and there being a water ripple effect on the screen because of it
I am torn between the 2020 iPad Pro 11'' or the iPad Air 5 what would you recommend ?
Watching this video on a iPad Air 5 hehe
Its like inception but with iPads.
If you play pubg told me about the lag and fps
Same
This video sold the idea more for me. The only question now is 64 vs 256 gb
Happy 1st Birthday to the iPad Air 5! It was released on 18 March 2022, and it’s 18 March 2023 today!
I have the new iPad 9 and iPad Air 4 and I love both of them
I bought it yesterday thanks for the main reasons
I’m getting it for gaming should be arriving soon, but you said the pro is better which really discouraged me a little.😅
Such an informative video! I just upgraded from the iPad Air 2, which I bought in 2015. Still works, but definitely laggy and not compatible with my iPhone 15 Plus anymore. But 9 years ain’t too shabby. Just ordered the Air 5 and can’t wait for it to arrive!
i have the iphone 15 plus aswell! i also just got the ipad air 5, its definitely worth it!
How's the battery backup
I'm a bit confused now after this video. Now is it better to ipad air 5(256 GB) or the ipad pro 128gb. Cos in Pro model there is pro motion. N.B- i have a macbook pro 14 inch base model. So I'm a confused with promotion
I’m still using my iPad Air 4 , love it
Debating if I should buy an iPad 9th gen or this. If I go with the air though I would just spend the extra for the pro. Ugh decisions.
Do you recommend this iPad. I use a slow laptop and an iPad mini 2 for school and an considering buying this iPad as I need a bigger screen and a new iPad.
I want to get an i pad air 5 just for gaming, editing videos and also for watching Videos so will it be the best i pad!? I really want to know
Got mine three days ago. No regrets.
Nice! I'm glad you like it.
Does it creak?
@@LiTingSakura no creak but if you press the back of it (in the region of Apple logo) it gives a little bit as in sinks a bit
Currently still rockin the 10.5 Pro with a Smart Keyboard and have been seriously looking to upgrade due to the battery life. The new Pros might be more than i need but what is rough is the storage prices. My 10.5 has 64gb and that can fill up fast with just apps so i would prefer to upgrade to 128GB but with the Air 5 im forced to buy a 256GB and at that price point, i can really just spend the extra $50-$60 for a Pro.
Here's what I want to do - my desktop PC is getting really old (can't be upgraded to Win 11, crashes a couple times a week (I never turn my PC off), noisy fan, etc..). I only use it for light Excel spreadsheets, KZhead, and casual games like Microsoft Jigsaw and Solitaire. I'm thinking of replacing it with a tablet. I would hook the tablet to one of those 7-in-1 usb port expanders so I can do HDMI to my 32 inch monitor, add keyboard and mouse (either bluetooth or usb), and a USB hard drive. When I go somewhere I just unhook the 7-in-1 and use it as a "normal" tablet - just watching videos, reading PDF's, and playing some low-end games. What's the best tablet for this? I want to top the price of tablet off at $700 (US). I was thinking Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 128GB (not S8+ or Ultra). Best Buy is running a sale this week that brings the Ipad Pro (M1) 128G to the same price as the S8. You're pushing the Ipad Air here, which I was initially interested in, but the base model only has 64G memory - for $100 more I can jump to the Ipad Pro 128G - or is 64G enough? If I got an Ipad I'd probably make use of the GarageBand software. There is a possibility that I might do some light video editing on any tablet I get. I should point out my main phone is a Galaxy S9 and I also have an old 10" Amazon Fire Tablet. I also have an Apple Iphone 6 for work so I'm familiar with IOS . Any recommendations?
I want to buy an I pad for notes making and illustration for research journals… Is is okay? or should I go for pro? I am confused help
I tried living the dual setup life you described. It works badly. The iPad is heavily dependent on network connectivity and I couldn’t ever trust that the files would be there when I needed them to be, usually around 30,0000 feet in the sky. IMO, this setup is unreliable and you’re better off with a single MacBook tethered to a Thunderbolt monitor via 1 USB-C cable. Disconnect, drop it in your bag and go.
Can you use a dongle with the iPad Air 5? I'm thinking about getting one to replace my Current 2012 MBA i7
i notived the 'home bar' at the bottom. Is there any way to hide this at all times? Or to have it on the right side instead iof at the bottom like you can with samsung?
I would but having held the air and seeing the indents from me hold it from behind on the screen screams that there’s some quality issues that need to be “aired out”. Yes. I went there. 🤣🤣🤣
I love my iPad Air 5 I got the blue one
That blue looks stunning!
I actually like the wallpaper! Any ideas where he got it? Lol
Can I use Adobe Photoshop or Autocad cracked version on either of the iPads?
I love your videos 😊
Thanks!
i love the fact that you use multiple sets (so background, positions in your studio) the only thing that bothers me is the huge jump in audio quality between the sets if you get that one fixed your idea of changing sets would be complete :D
Great video, I do have some things Id like to say if you dont mine :) 1. I think the Samsung tablets would do a little bit better if it didnt have that gross aspect ratio. Its not as inviting to use like the one on Apples tablets/ 2. I think it would be cool if Apple were to take full advantage of the capabilities by allowing the iPad to switch to something like MacOS when using the Apple keyboard and then when youre done with that detach it from the keyboard to get back to regular iPadOS since its more touch screen friendly. To think how cool and versatile it would be to truly have a full blown computer in the form of my iPad would be LIT, lol. ANYWAYS, I enjoyed your video, thank you for all the time and effort you put into them!
I can confirm iPad Air has the “Pushing in the backplate also cause the display to have a water ripple effect” problem you don’t have to press hard I tired it at Apple Store on all the airs it is horrible I ordered one from recent sale for 679 and I will return in as soon it arrives
And forget using the Pen, water ripple effect with little pressure writing or sketching
You must have a heavy hand. I’ve never had that problem when writing.
You could just buy one, put it straight in a case with a screen protector and be careful with it, and everything will be fine. In fact that’s what I did. I never squeezed it, pressed it, wrestled it etc, as generally that’s not what they want you to do with it.
I must have been just fortunate to purchase this iPad Air 5 and no issues at all whether on or off the Apple Magic Keyboard. (However, a new issue popped up a few days ago when trying to print from it to my Canon Pixma Pro 100. Suddenly I get “printer not found.” Wondering if this was due to latest iOS update?)
I have an OG ipad air, (2013) and 2015 macbook air and looking to upgrade to replace both
Hopefully this device could circumvent the Qualcomm-micro soft deal, to be able to run Windows 11 or 10.
thx im getting the ipad air 5 in june
Do a lot of telemed on the road… any suggestions on portable stand that will get the Air5 at eye level… ?
Amazon have some tablet holders for cars, $15-$40 I see just from the first choices
iPad Air can handle photo editing Lightroom and apps Canva? No lagging?
$599 except functionally you need the $750 model. I was able to get a 12.9 2021 iPad Pro 256GB for $999. It was down to S8 ultra or iPad Pro for me. Then wait for the cost of Pencil and Magic Keyboard 😬
It might be the best hardware for the price, but the software is too limited for many users. If you have that much power, and yet many of the workflows that people need to do. It is the worst OS I have ever been forced to use since you can’t replace it. If I could install Android on my iPad I would since I would be able to do more of the tasks that I want it for. Ask any developer how nice the iPad is to develop on only using a keyboard case.
is it can become Mac studio Display?
Was this a test to see if we noticed the audio change at 5:45?
Well iPad Pro 11 inches is a better choice. I know it’s a bit higher on the price however, you Get double the storage , better screen , speakers and microphones. Another thing you Thunderbolt / USB 4 connection. All that for a 150$ more.
and for drawing ? which is the best ? 256 gb or 512 gb? i hesitate so much.
I have an samsung tab s6 rn and I’m definitely switching to the iPad Air. My Samsung tablet declined in better usage and loading speeds and general connectivity way too fast.
I am a android user on phone and a windows user on pc, I want this for one big use case. my Laptop is to heavy and uses to much battery when watching movies or KZhead anywhere but a desk. The lightweight nature and because it stays cool and last for a long time doing just that is why I want this tablet.
I think the Galaxy Tab Ultra is by far the better tablet if you want to use it as a laptop replacement (thanks to Dex). If not, either the Ipad Pro or Air would be the better choice imo.
The specifications are great even the price tag might be good at your place. But in India apple products don't come cheap. And they don't give freebies like what samsung does at least providing a free pen. But apple makes you invest from buying tablet it's accessories.
Thank you for all your videos, it helped me make my decision and I ordered one last night. I was wondering how to transfer the information from my old device and my husband ‘s old device they are iPad’s air original generation 1. They both have clouds on it. What I was wondering is can i transfer my husband’s apps and programs without having his Apple ID on it? I mean if I transfer the games as example can I make it mine with my Apple ID ? My husband passed away a few months ago and I need to transfer everything to me. Thank you so much for everything. Have a good week, God bless Nicole
When you start the new iPad it should give you an option to transfer things, if that doesn't work because its older I would bring it in to an apple store, I'm sure they could help.
@@TheEverydayDad thank you
I just need it for procreate & video editing for my go pro scenery
Currently using the 5th Gen Mini, and waiting for the 7th before l upgrade. Looking forward to losing the Touch ID (which | never liked), and gaining USB-C, plus whatever else Apple decides to 'give' us. Guessing it'll probably be expensive for its form factor but - having just upgraded to an iPhone 13 Mini - it's the size that meets my needs. Anything bigger might end up unused in a drawer. Thanks for the content!
Need a new updated video about should I get Macbook now or wait for M2 ?
It doesn't really matter. They will be supported for a long while. The m1 Air or the m1 mini is more than enough for most use cases. You can just get the 16gb ram version if you really need it. It depends on your use case. It's a tool for your needs
Different strokes for different folks, but the Air 5 is the best overall choice.
My iPad is basically my only computer but I do have a MacBook Pro for the few things I run into that the iPad necessarily can’t do
I think most folks only end up using a phone or a tablet anymore. If I didn't make KZhead videos I doubt I would have an actual full on computer.
Hmm I'm waiting for the new ipad 2022. The non air or pro one. I wonder if they'll reduce the bezels and make it be cheap with an a12 or something
Well the 10th gen base iPad and new pro are out. I’m down to getting the Air in this video or the new base one. How about you?
Should I trade my iPad Air for the iPad Air m1 need more space my one is 64gb and I need more space to edit my KZhead channel videos and is it worth it to trade my ipad for a 256gb one
Watching on iPad Air 5 and it's worth it :)
With the recent price hike for the iPad 10 Gen, the iPad Air 5 has become an even better value than when you first published this video, IMHO.
How does the compare with the Galaxy S8
Watching this on a refurbished iPad Air 3rd gen 😅
Hello. How is the storage holding up for you? I am debating between the two storage sizes. At this point, do you think currently, this iPad Air is worth the price or do you think I should wait for a newer model to release? (I will be using for video watching, note taking, video editing, and creatives. I also need the cellular option as I'll be using on the go and I don't connect to random hotspots.)
Just my opinion based on experience, don’t even consider 64 gb. You’ll spend endless hours compressing, upload/download trying to squeeze enough gb out of memory just so you can update the OS.
@@Ed_Mann thank you! I ended up buying the air 5 cellular with 256gb! Had it for some months and I love it!
Bought an the iPad Air 4 in November, probably should have waited ,
Trade it in apply give you big money for it
Yes mum I need this for school
Have the air pad 4 but considering selling it and get the 5
Great idea…..there is a mounth delay for Apple to ship 😩
