Slick rick is one of hip hop's greatest storytellers.
+Zane Dietlin the best.
I'd disagree and say biggie.
Interracial Suspect I said one of, not THE greatest. I'm curious though, could you name a couple songs that demonstrate Biggie's storytelling ability? I love Biggie but I don't remember any real storytelling

Hip-Hops Golden Age!
My uncle showed me slick rick, nwa, Tupac, ghetto boys, all of that gangsta rap from the 90s and early 2000s and I was hooked. He also showed me rush, led zeppelin, black sabbath, etc and I'm definitely a rocker, but I still get down with some rap! I'm 25 now and I can't stand most of today's music

I'm a 73 year old white woman, and I've been listening to this everyday. Having been part of 1960s civil rights marches (was in DC with MLK in 1963 on the Mall) and lived in Chicago in 1968 when the town blew up after MLK and RFK were killed, I am glad I lived long enough to be part of this time of racial reckoning. I listed to Slick Rick in the 1980s and I am so happy to listen to him again today. Rick cared about the children back then who inherited poverty when the streets were their teachers. I hope I live long enough to witness better opportunities, a more fair and more equal union, when black children are no longer poor and other voices and opportunites are as available to them as to us. I'm a grandmother, God bless the children. Thank you Rick.

Slick Rick - the master of the art of storytelling
Rick raps always had a positive message. He my favorite old school rapper.
Samuel Coleman said who? this song is about a boy who got popped by cops for robbing a cop
The message is don't be a thief. "Straight and narrow or your sould gets cast", that line at the end of the song, it basically means "don't be a criminal".
Not his best tbh. :P I kind of get the message, basically don't get TOO close to a girl and let her break your heart and take advantage of you, but I think saying you should treat her like a prostitute is kinda' overstepping.
Rick would've been one of the all time biggest, most successful rap stars of all the schools old and new, if he had never gotten locked up.
@@earlpipe9713 THink Rick and LL were the best all around in those days. Fun stuff, told a story and had a message most times.
