In the comics, Black Manta's father actually killed Tom and so Aquaman kills him as revenge, which is then what leads to Black Manta becoming Aquaman's biggest villain. My friend told me that in the comics, Black Manta succeeds in killing Aquaman's son. While I am glad they didn't kill off the baby in this movie, I thought Tom was still gonna die.

What I like about how they used the concept of the villain kidnapping children in this film, is that it's not in a clichéd way, that it actually serves a proper purpose, with the child having specific DNA or blood that Manta wants. Whereas despite the child kidnapping in 'Thor Love and Thunder' having some purpose to it, I feel it has less of a purpose, that they could've found a better way to have Gorr lure Thor into a trap rather than just simply have the children kidnapped the way it was done.
Here it's also part of Manta's revenge to kill Arthur's family
Exactly. Whilst Love and Thunder does it similarly with capturing the children to lure Thor into a trap, I do think Lost Kingdom did it much better.
Dr Stephen shin did the right thing by helping Aquaman
Considering it's a James Wan film, I knew that shot of Thomas walking to find a flashlight was gonna have a horror movie jumpscare of some sort. So, the eyes showing up before the lightning flashes revealing his whole body was a nice touch.

@@ThomasGallagher-fk5tmhe touched the trident, saw the truth, send a transmission of location to Nereus, and tried telling Arthur and Orm in person what was up before getting blasted. Orm then figured it out when he touched the trident. He also sent them another transmission of location in antartica to bring them to Necrus, tried to kill Manta by swapping the baby with a bomb resulting in Manta disabling him and taking back the baby. He then gave Arthur the trident to fight Manta, and dipped with Meta with the baby while Arthur and Orm fought Manta and Kordax. Ending scene he survives and will likely be close associate for Arthur going forward, tasked with converting atlantean tech for human integration. Unfortunately we won’t see that case the DCEU has now been canceled by WB effectively ending the franchise, which is why the movie felt rushed. Originally Lost Kingdom had 6 hours of content which was likely 2 movies, but pandemic + Amber heard scandal + DCEU cancel resulted in that being shaved down to like a 2hr summary.

Amber heard sank this movies potential, once the world found out what a terrible person she was it’s no wonder many didn’t want to see the film, knowing she was still the main cast member. Honestly, if he did replace her, I don’t think maybe people would mind.

I love this scene! From the worries of the child to the reconciliation between brothers and their mother, plus the jump scare of Black Manta. Bottom line: this is a winning sequence.
Just upload the whole movie at this point. You cant argue about sale loss when the movie is clearly a direct to tv quality.
The movie is good and made 424 million against a budget of 205-215 million.
