I had the cops kick in my door looking for a girl who didn't live with me. Because she didn't show up to court over a shoplifting charge. They had so many cops in and out of my place that you'd think they were looking for a murder suspect. It was ridiculous. So much taxpayers money wasted.
They live for the excitement of violence. They're mostly psychopaths that need the adrenalin rush to feel alive.

This same thing happened in my hometown over 30 years ago. The cops were doing a drug bust and got the wrong address. The young woman had just given birth to her first child via C-section. The cops roughed her up so badly, she had to go back to surgery to have repairs done.
I hope she sued. That's terrible!

For those wondering happened afterward: County paid 500k to the family after it was settled in court. Nobody was fired. The lead detective was forced to take an unpaid vacation for 3 days.

In 2003, I was incarcerated in the Beaver County jail in Pennsylvania. I was having labor pains starting around 4pm.I was in my late 30s, and this was my 6th pregnancy. I was 39 weeks and considered high risk due to other health issues I've had since childhood. After constant urging from myself and fellow inmates, medical came with a wheelchair saying I was finally being taken to hospital. That didn't happen. I was taken to booking and put in a cell. No hospital. At 6am, they brought breakfast and when I stood up, the blood covered the entire cells floor. They did call an ambulance but...I laid there bleeding, waiting over 2 hours for a sherif to escort the ambulance. By the grace of God, a correction officer came in to booking, saw me literally laying in a pool of blood bigger than my entire body and he snapped and took matters into his own hands. The doctor was amazed that I was still alive and that my daughter, born via emergency c-section was also alive. I had placenta privia. It is often fatal to mother and baby in ideal situation. I should have sued, but I didn't. And for those wondering...I was there for shoplifters. An item costing less than 10 dollars.

If a police has a warrant to enter and no one let's them in, they come in. If they get shot at because of that, they are to shoot back and make arrests. They were never found guilty, it just allegations hanging for a long time. Being Brazilian and Chinese mixed myself, my parents would tell me if you're accused in Brazil you're GUILTY by default until proven innocent like most countries in the world. Even worse in China... where you don't even get a trial or speak when you're accused, you're just thrown in jail. Makes it feel blessed that I get more fair and lawful treatment here in the US than most countries would and that the judicial system will actually investigate this kinda stuff and be able to sue police. In Rio de Janeiro where I live until 12 years old, if cops did this, where WOULD NOT be an investigation or coverage as military will block broadcast.

Over a snowblower! Not a rape, not a murder, not a kidnapping etc. but a stolen snowblower that they didn’t steal. This is crazy! That poor couple they never should have had to go through that and giving birth is a precious moment and a precious memory that is now scared. Not fair. The police never can right away take responsibility for their actions, because they are to busy trying to either sweep it under the rug or trying to make it look far less insane. So they don’t look bad or lose their precious pensions.

At least here, the cops have to run the application to the county attorney office, before a judge looks at it and ask his question of the cop that is applying for the warrant. Then and only if all the, i are dotted, t crossed does the judge sign the warrant.

The wife won $500K as everything they did to her was illegal under state and federal law. All charges were dropped against the husband and several cops got in trouble over the house raid. He never got his job back and they moved to another state to get away from the bad memories.
Those cops and the detective shouldn't even have a job in law enforcement anymore. If I was their boss, I'd fire them, place them in handcuffs, and tell the judge to deny any of them bail. They screwed up and need to pay the price of their incompetence. I wish the wife, husband, and their newborn a better life in a different state.

Shackling a pregnant woman while in labor is ridiculous even if she was correctly arrested where is a pregnant woman going? Why are shackles required? This poor woman was even guilty of this crime and she had to endure all this. Definitely hit them with a nice big fat lawsuit.

I would really like to know how this ends up. The family deserves tens of millions of dollars. You see it on the news all the time: droves of people walking out of stores with arm loads and cart falls of products, and essentially nothing is being done about it. But the cops were willing to do all of this over a snowblower that these people didn’t even steal? It’s complete insanity.
So, the police broke into an innocent couple's home, kidnapped them, denied the wife immediate medical care and almost shot them. Yet, they investigated themselves and found no wrongdoing. All while ruining this man's career and reputation.

The Supreme Court said that police may hold you on probable cause for 48 consecutive hours without a warrant. It’s 36 with a warrant.

@@explorerofunknownworlddept6232 It said so in the story. The husband bought the store credit (or reward points, gift card, etc.) online through marketplace (or something similar). In the news coverage they had security footage of the guy stealing the original item and then returning it for store credit (how some places do if you don't have a receipt). Of course, that could have just been some stock footage that they used, but I didn't notice if it said it. You are right though, they could have tracked all that from the point of him using the store credit to purchase the snow blower. That didn't actually show any crime though either. Other than maybe receiving stolen goods, but he would have beat that charge if he could bring up where he bought it from. I don't get why they didn't pull up directly to the house with what the warrant was for. Someone isn't just going to quickly sneak that away.

The original investigation for the store credit showed that they bought the cards online like millions of people do everyday. Clear and continuing evidence of overzealous policing and reckless police raids. I mean, what even was that goofy detective in that stupid outfit doing leading a raid? He's lucky he's alive.

I grew up next to Maple Grove so I am familiar with the area and still know several officers in the dept. Most of them are decent guys, but this was a F*ck up of monumental amounts and some heads will, justifiably, roll.

They shackled the woman which at no point was a danger throughout the entire encounter. There is absolutely zero reason for the cops bad decisions for this case. Not only did they break several laws, they put that family through so much stress/possible trauma and after knowing that she was pregnant, refused to assist her needs when asked and continued to stress her which could have caused a miscarriage i believe. Can I add they had the ability to pull up the ID of the people living at that house and match it to the security footage. They would have seen different person. Yes it's possible for it to be a associate but maybe a calmer approach.
I will never, ever shed a tear for cops who are shot in situations like this. I'll feel bad for their families, but anyone participating in raids like this are of such low moral worth that they don't deserve our sympathy any longer.

I'd add prison to the punishment. Nothing was reasonable here, like the officer said, it was for a stupid snowblower, he is well aware people that shoplift for store credits do not return to purchase items, they knew it was more likely they purchased the cards. The only thing they needed to figure out was if they knew the cards they purchased were gained illegally. These officers knew exactly what they were doing, they did it on purpose, then when things went south, they tried to cover it up. And ruined a family in the meantime. That's what they do.

Every single bit of this story is absolutely horrific and I feel horrible for that mother. Edit: we investigated ourselves and found nothing wrong.

@@cindyhayslette306 Someone stole items from a store and brought them back for store credit ( seems like they dont offer the mones being payed back ). So then he sold that credit online. As the store credit is probably logged in a system they could then tell which account has redeemed it in this case those poor people. Maybe the account has the home address includet. This is how i would put it without having done any research so you might want to check it out yourself.

The cops ARE the criminals. How many times has this happened and yet the footage was “lost”, or not available..? Like the off duty NJ cop who hit a pedestrian the other day at 3 AM and put the body in his car with his passenger and mom, then brought the body back to the scene hours later 🧐? Wonder why… Or the cops who beat an elderly woman with dementia and dislocated her shoulder because she walked out of Walmart without paying for something? Obviously the woman was confused and they denied her medical care and are on video watching the body cam footage and laughing about how her shoulder “pops” with each other … Or the San Antonio cop who beat a pregnant woman in her stomach and said “normally I punch them in her side” as others watched and did nothing leaving the pregnant woman on the ground stomach down for thirty mins? Mysterious how the woman like the one in this story ended up with no charges. This same cop was on video doing something similar to another person six weeks afterwards.

This may be shocking research estimated that less than 1 percent of all local law enforcement agencies require a 4-year degree. I definitely don't understand why officer's with numerous complaints and lawsuit payouts aren't fired. They are clearly "rotten apples" What's infuriating is that not only does top brass support them, they allow these degenerates resign to ensure they can find employment elsewhere. So it doesn't appear there are "good" cops anywhere these days. I don't trust them at all. Likely never will either.
