Out of all of Apple's product lines, nothing is easier to explain than the Apple Watch lineup which comes with a high end Apple Watch Ultra, a middle ground Series 8, and at the low end a new Apple Watch SE that is the gold standard of how an SE product should be done. It's low cost, powerful, and comes with all of the features you need for a smartwatch which is why it's hard to pass up and it's the first Apple Watch you should buy in 2023.

i bought the se 4 days ago and i love it. its glass and material around the watch is pretty strong and the battery easily lasts me a whole day with 50% left while using all the features.
I own both the SE 2 and the Ultra but i tend to wear the SE 2 most of the time and use the Ultra only if im on long vacay esp in countries that arent so safe if you wear expensive watches or doing some sort of activity whether its trekking or boating. Aside from these, day to day i use my SE 2. I find it much better also to run with due to its small and light frame. Makes a good watch too when you plan on double wristing lol
I had the first génération or SE, and now the second. The rhythm of release is perfect, two years between each model, I appreciate much more each improvment. And the first one is still used by someone else!
My 4 year old apple watch 3 is broken and Im looking forward to buy one. This was the most useful video I have watched in the last couple of days. Thanks man
I bought my watch se 2 last month and it's the best decision for me. low cost, does everything I need and keeps track of my fitness. Love it!
I have had my SE for 6 mths also. I upgraded from a series 3 with cellular. I agree with you 100%. SE is all you need and at a great price.
Your SE is cellular like the series 3? How many hours can you have with cellular on in the SE?
@@mbbranches I don’t believe it comes in a cellular version.
@@YvetteinBoca I have Apple Watch SE 1 generations
I just upgraded from series 3 also
The SE 2nd Generation is available in cellular. AT&T had a buy one/get one free and I got my 12 year old the SE for free. He was going to get my old watch, but I couldn’t pass up the deal to get him the SE!
Thanks for sharing was debating between the SE 2 and and Series 8!!!
I have the first Gen SE and I don’t have any complaints or reason to upgrade other than faster charging. I have been looking at used 7 or 8 off of Facebook marketplace or similar to get the fast charge. But I figure I will probably wait until the next one to see what comes out that may be worth upgrading for.
are the thicker bezels noticeable during daily use? i handed down my series 7 to my brother, and am thinking of getting a new one to replace it but don't want to spend the money on a series 8. would the SE be a viable choice?
Great video. The SE Gen2 is an amazing watch. Worth the money. I have both Apple Watch SE (Gen1) and Ultra. When I went to trade in my cellular SE Gen1 Apple offered me 70 dollars 😢. So I kept it and wear it when I’m charging my ultra once every 2 days.
I have the first gen Apple Watch SE. and I love it but one thing that I wish I had is that always on display to see the time at a glance with out having to turn on Apple Watch
This looks like a perfect watch for me as it would be my first Apple Watch, just wish it had KZhead studio app capability
when i see the bazels of SE and series 8/9 i found the screen most beautiful in the series 8/9 and im in a weelchair so maybe always on display can be good for me when im moving, i dont know i hesitate between SE and 9
yup, i purchased as activity tracker. it does so much and it has so many features
I just purchased my first one. I hope I enjoy it.
I’ve had my se2 since it’s release. I got the cellular version and I love it. I’ve had several fitness trackers and other brands smart watches over the years. The se2 is better at everything than my previous watches/trackers.
I was actually planning to buy an apple watch se 2 soon for my travelling. Thanks for the video!👏
I just ordered mine! With one of those wrist bands you got.
I've had a Fitbit versa 2 for the past years, i am now looking to switch to an apple watch like this one. Only thing im thinking about is if apple's sleep stages report is as good as fitbits
Ive been using my se for more than a year! When the one I have's batery starts to get bad I will trade it in and get another se. I love it so much, and i don't want to spend as much as an iphone on an apple watch. SE is amazing and I am going to buy it again when this one dies.
I got my SE yesterday and freaking love it!!
Thank you, this confirmed my decision to buy the Apple Watch SE!
Got 2 for my kids 7 and 8 and they work great. Keeps them off social media and allows me to keep tabs on them. Also able to set school time so all they can do is see the time.
Coming back to Apple after being with Samsung for 10+ years, the SE 2 has been perfect for me. I have a Fitbit Versa 3 that I still love but my Apple Watch is a great alternative for every day wear
I am ready to buy a apple watch, i am thinking apple watch SE is that the one you still think is best for the money???
I’ve been looking at getting an Apple Watch and this video helped me know which one I should get. The SE has pretty much everything I need. I wanted to get one to track my fitness as well as time and weather when I don’t have my phone right next to me. It would also help for quick looks so I wouldn’t need to pull my phone out all the time. I think this is the one I’m going with probably in a few months when some stores have sales on electronics.
I got one too for $90. I will not spend more than $100 for any apple device since they roll out firmware updates that brick the device. I have not looked at anything Apple since my 5S got bricked from a firmware update, it destroyed the battery upon restart and would not hold a charge even with the usb cable attached, that was ten years ago. I've owned so many samsung devices and i can say they've never done that to any of the devices I've owned.
i bought mine 8 months ago still is the best watch ive ever had but had to schedule a appt. for mic issues
Where did u get the yellow band for ur Apple Watch? It looks comfy and looks like it just slips on!
I cracked the screen on my Series 3 today. Looks like I’ll be replacing it with an SE 2!
got an apple watch se 2nd gen in midnight half years ago and i liked it❤
Got mine November of '22 and love it!
When we switched to Verizon, they made me trade in my series 4 for the SE 2. I didn’t think the battery life was as good and it doesn’t have the EKG app. I was very disappointed. So, I purchased a series 8 and I am happy again. Don’t even ask me what I think about Verizon! So sorry we switched.
Does it have access to your iPhone camera where you can view what you’re recording on the watch?
Was originally planning on getting the SE2 as my first Apple Watch, but ended up with the Starlight 41 Nike Series 7. Lucky to have an Apple Store within a 15 minute drive, so I could try on all colours, sizes and models. Went in thinking I'd go for the darker colour, but surprised myself when I preferred the lighter one. Absolutely love it!
Seen your comment on 80 videos lmao, bot
This was a helpful video, thanks!
Very happy with my se 2, all I need
Still happy with it, but I think I will go on the series 9/X if it seem good. I think the ECG could be a good option for me.
As a recent buyer of the apple SE 2, ireally like it and it's my first apple watch. But few months later, i think i could have bought the 7 series instead of it. Your video is cool, but i don't think you must compare the wach SE 2 to the 8 series, but to the 7 or the 6.
5:09 - you helped me make my purchase decision and your honesty made me sub your channel. Thank you
just got a se 2nd generation from att for free and im glad to watch this video knowing its a good watch
Got mine yesterday. I was a Fitbit Charge user for the last ~5 years but wanted to move onto an actual watch so was looking at the Sense 2 but just too many bad reviews
Got my 5yo the latest SE for tracking and at some point the watch got stuck in boot mode. So I wasn’t able to turn it on, just the apple logo appeared when you’d put it on the charger. It took it to Apple for repair and repair people said they would not even consider fixing the software because there was a chip on the edge of the screen which needed to be fixed first, cost was $229. I didn’t pay this exorbitant amount because that’s practically the cost of a new watch. Remember when Steve Jobs said what separates Apple from the rest is that Apple makes great software in a pretty little box. Well, now that pretty little box is to blame for the software failure. And if in fact the little chip is to blame, which it isn’t because the watch was working fine until the boot Loop, then Apple should warranty this and replace it rather than have us basically buy a new watch.
What do I do I got my Apple Watch SE a few months ago and it has a deep scratch on the screen
Does this Apple Watch monitor glucose levels also
This was a very informative video with a pragmatic approach. Thank you.
I appreciate your comments. I just bought my first Apple Watch, and I chose the AC because T-Mobile had a special on it. With Siri and the pinching clenching features I don’t even have to touch it. It is awesome and has made my life way easier. I agree with what you said about the health features. I am 65 and I don’t really need to know what my oxygen is all day long, etc.
I recently got this one to go with my iPhone 14pro and I’m loving it. It has everything I need for a great price.
The SE? How has it been so far?
I get all the background colours but not black! Is there a trick I'm missing? Thank you
Thank you. I currently have a Series 3 watch and I am looking to upgrade. Whilst I do have health issues, mainly due to age, I am not convinced that all the health monitoring features of the Series 8 would be of significant value to me. This review has certainly swung me to spend the lesser amount of money, and get the SE. 👍🏼
⌚️🧢📱 ✌🏻👱🏻♂️✌🏻 True
agreed
I got a SE second edition free with tmobile 44mm and im loving It ..!!!
Dust resistant is that a big deal between SE2 vs series 8 who has dust resistant?
Nice video. It would be nice to see a comparison with a series 9
Size.. Is it obvious the difference in mm? I am thinking of the smaller cheaper 40mm. Any help? Thanks.
Great tutorial, can you Apple Pay on it & face time ???
Great info...great voice you have..
I just got my SE series 2. I don’t know how you get your watch battery to last that long. I’m having a hard time getting it last a day. I have to charge it before I go to bed so I can track my sleep I’m trying to see if removing some of the apps and removing the Minnie mouse watch face, Will lengthen the time I can use my battery. Can you give me any tips to lengthen the life of the battery? Thank you very much.
Excellent review.
I hear what you're saying, but I decided to go for the Series 9 in the end. The always on feature, as mentioned by another commentator, is going to be useful. If I want to look at the time, I just want to look at the time. But also I decided that I probably want the extra health features too. It occurred to me that all the reviews I was seeing were from young, fit men - nothing wrong with that - but as I am not young, fit or male, I decided to splash out on the more premium model. Whether it will be worth it is yet to be determined (it's being delivered this week). It is a significant extra outlay.
I have it. It’s good, but I am disappointed with glass quality. It scratches incredibly easily!
I am saving for one so yes
Does the watch show text messages, what’s app messages etc?
I will get the Apple Watch se 2 but I have an iPhone 6s Plus updated to 15.8 will it connect to the Apple Watch?
Went from series 1 38mm silver to Apple Watch SE G2 starlight 44mm cellular and WiFi. Major upgrade 😂 I just ordered one today!!!
I really appreciate videos like these I thought getting the SE I wouldn't be a good idea, but this video change my mind.
I grabbed one up today and I love it!
I upgraded to the SE from the Series 3 and the screen actually feels big with thin bezels in comparison. I guess if you’re used to newer watches, the screen looks bad but it’s nothing but an upgrade to me
If i don’t have your my phone, and I’m at someone’s house, and connect my Apple Watch SE to there wi-fi, will I get call on my watch?
I just got an SE I’m learning it and I had to get the guy who sold it to me to turn off Find My but I only paid $85 for this and the warranty expires in March of next year so all I had to do was buy a band for it and it came with a protective cover. I’m ecstatic
Wow
missing the fast charge to really be the one watch to get. Might come in future. For now as we have no other choice it is the watch to get I think.
bought an iPhone 15 pro max (first apple product i ever had) and a watch SE 2, and after checking all the details on the watch I am very happy I did not buy the series 9 cause I dont use/need ECG, body temperature or blood oxygen... dont care about the always on display on a watch, and battery lasts the same Until theres a HUGE advancement on battery life in a new lineup, I dont think i will change it The ultra makes sense for the battery life and titanium rugged durability performance, but the price difference is just too much for those extra features that I value
What do u think coming update on apple watch on (event 23)
A few of my friends have Apple Watch SE second generation
I just bought it for 180 euros, great deal. Having a Garmin Fenix i don’t need all the sensor and health features, i just want it to be Smart.
Having heart disease and over 65 years old I looked hard at the Apple Watch SE but I went up to the Series 8 when I bought. I just feel I have an important need to have the blood oxygen and ECG that the Series 8 or for that matter the Series 7 also have. I used a veterans discount of 10% off when I bought my watch. After losing a close friend to a AFIB event with him having a stroke at 49 I just wish he would have listened to me and bought himself an Apple Watch with the ECG function.
Death can’t be prevented mate. When time comes everyone has to go, no matter what.
@@navinchand2706that’s true but I know a guy who’s Apple Watch saved his life he was able to get heart stents in before anything bad happened to him thanks to the ecg function on his watch
@@navinchand2706bit of a nonsense statement.
My first apple watch and yeah it's dumb need to charge everyday, not to mentioned carry extra cable for traveling. Lightning, usb c for ipad and watch charger. Why apple not design usbc/lightning port for the watch, why because of courage?
i bought one randomly last night, got it when i got home from work today. its pretty cool.
I love the se2 gen it is very reliable I would recommend ❤
Amazing video
Only reasons I chose the S8 over the SE is for the fast charging and AOD. I only charge my watch when I shower in the morning and it lasts a whole day+sleep tracking
@@emdblyou well this is an apple watch video no one asked how long your garmin lasts
@@Kh-vd3tm I actually LOL'd reading this. You didn't have to do him like that xD
What’s AOD
I have a series 4, would you recommend getting the SE? At the end you said for those who have series 3 and older you recommend the SE. I don’t want to buy the SE if it is going to be basically the same watch that I have now…I don’t have any real issues with my 4, just considering getting a new one since I have had mine for four years Any thoughts or recommendations?
i’d say go for it tbh
Hi do u have any i phones pro that i can use i want to create video content love from India I'll be waiting for your reply ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Watching this on my series 4
I just got the SE to days ago after upgrading from the series 1 😬. Yes I had that thing since 2016. The only reason I had to upgrade is because it wouldn’t pair with the iphone after the recent update. I was going to get the series 8 but after telling the Apple Store rep what I used my watch for he recommended i go with the SE 2. I’m glad he did because it is still a huge upgrade from what I had but only cost me $295, opposed to the $500 I was about to spend.
Do you have to have a iPhone in your pocket to use this watch or can you use it as a stand alone watch ?
If you buy cellular, yes. If you get GPS, no.
As a smart watch it’s great and as a fitness tracker. I just use a whoop to track my sleep
Hi Greg! 🙋🏼♂️
Which watch face is that
Can you do find my iPhone on this watch? I lose my phone a lot and sometimes it’s on vibrate so will Apple Watch help find my iPhone
What really sold me on getting the SE 2 over a series 7 (cost reasons) is the fact that it EVEN HAS CRASH DETECTION. I'm surprised you didn't mention this! All of the watches in this lineup have crash detection, which is great if you don't have the opportunity to upgrade to an iPhone 14 yet. That was important to me.
If it does not have cellular who and how will the Watch call ?
@@user-vv7tx6gd9c Any celular device, regardless of if it's connected to a service or not, can call emergency services using the closest tower to its location. I'm not 100% sure if the non-cellular version can do that, however, you would more than likely have your phone with you because your watch doesn't have cellular lol The watch would still be connected to that either way and would call emergency services using bluetooth (if it didn't automatically have emergency service calls vía celular). Only the iPhone 14 lineup has crash detection. I'm sure that most people that buy the cheap Apple Watch SE 2 will not have an iPhone 14. I think having the same crash detection on your wrist when your phone may not have it at all is super cool.
@@pbft.jl
Right now iPhone 14 plus is free with new line at Verizon and 36 months contract. Additionally Verizon gives apple witches SE or series 8 for free with new line to $5 monthly. I cannot give up with my google pixel 2 watches with all health metrics included. Series 8 are sold out ((((
I just bought an SE 2 for $50 on marketplace🔥🔥🔥 in great condition keep an eye out on there if you're looking for one
I recently got mine, 44mm, switching from Samsung Galaxy Watch. I gotta say the Apple Watch SE is all I need now and complementation to my iPhone 13. It has all the features I use very often and more. I got it from Amazon in Prime Deal for 229.00. I really don´t need the always on display (not having the screen on all the time saves battery) and I don't chat much on the watch, I just need the notifications. So far so good, I don't feel I am missing any feature. ECG or Blood Oxigen, thank God I have no cardiovascular problems and the last time I used a Blood Oxigen sensor was during the pandemic, and I used the one included in my old Samsung Galaxy S9, only real time it was useful hahaha. I totally recommed the Apple Watch SE, good enough for most people looking for a Great watch to pair with their iPhone.
great review 🎉
Some day I will find out what an Apple watch does and not just which model is the best buy
buy a refurbished se2 wasnt charging over 79% return it got another one new never be able to do the ios update it stock at a spot for over 4 hrs i return it too then order another new one that work perfectly for the last 3 weeks.... wife is happy.
I wouldn’t really say the series 8 is in the middle of the line up rather an alternative to the ultra. As you could get a Hermes variant and completely out price the ultra
If I gave my phone to my parents and they lived far away, can I still get call and other notifications on the watch?
Would I need to get the cellular version or the cellular isn’t really necessary?
No not really since you’ll always have your phone next to you
I was originally attracted to the Ultra for its 2 / 3 day battery life, but I eventually realised that if the SE can cope with ALL my requirements in a single day (which it does) then it’s easier (and MUCH cheaper) to have a routine of daily overnight (optimised) charging, rather than an “erratic” routine of every few days.
i had the se2 and returned it for an ultra. the ultra is way better in what it provides and the battery life lasted me 3 and 1/2 days with moderate use.
I have se 1st gen and it last 2days
@@bussin556 Can't imagine paying $1000 for a watch that's practically the same as someone else's $270 watch. And it really is the same considering most state the battery life as the major difference; just charge it more?
I’ve been torn between two model and this impeccable review has just swung it for the se2 GREAT JOB
Does the screen scratch more easily than the series 8?
Buy a screen protector, then it won’t matter - they all scratch.
I like that you call them complications, like a real watch lol
Actually, the body temperature sensor does not improve sleep tracking at all.
